The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

yup hours came up the other day..this is what I have so far. I'm an extreme planner! :rotfl: We stopped getting hoppers last trip, but this time I have a great deal thru tickets at work that has the hopper that I may jump on. That way we can go over to epcot at night for food & wine festival, staying at boardwalk and all.
arrive 23 or 24th stay at nick hotel.
25th..make our way over from nick hotel and ohana dinner.
26th DHS heading over around 10ish, hubby has to do some work in the am. Lunch at mama melrose. dinner...??
27th *my birthday MNSHHP. dinner CRT lunch trex
28th epcot lunch coral reef dinner le cellier
29th AK ohana breakfast
30th MK crystal palace breakfast tonys lunch
31st chef mickeys breakfast...pool/shopping day!:woohoo:
1st head home.

Looks like we both planned on Epcot for the 28th!
Earlier when I was in major planning mode I know I had a reason for doing Le Cellier on the 25th and Big River Grille on the 28th but I honestly, now, have no idea what it was. :confused3

AND... I was surprised to see that wdwinfo.com has the wrong hours for Epcot that day. The official website has EMH until midnight, wdwinfo has it going until 10pm.

I can't wait to have enough time to ask you all the questions I have!!

Right now my biggest (pun!) problem is major engorgement. Any tips? I'm going nuts trying to avoid any blockages and deal with the pain. the stupid bras I bought are too small and i think the tanks are causing some spots. The shower was nice relief, but I can't stay in there forever.

I've been pumping and that helps for like 20 minutes. I've got one of those heat wraps that you put in the microwave and that feels good too...how long does this last?

Congrats on your new arrival- I'll have to pop over to the other board to read details!

The engorgement lasted about 2 days or so if I remember (that time is all such a blur now!) You can also try manual expression and massage- that helped a bit. Also, cold cabbage leaves in your bra work good too! I know this sounds crazy and my mom thought I was nuts when I asked her to stop at the store for a head of cabbage- but it does feel good.

I got some stretchy bras from Target and they seemed to work well with how big I got when engorged.

Good luck and feel better soon!

I finally finished trying to get it all figured out. I'll have to go book and look for your itinerary and see if we'll be the same place at the same time that week.
Hopefully I can get all the ADRs I want in the morning. Only truly worried about Le Cellier!

10/24- arrive at CBR, MK and Tony's Town Square (D)
10/25- Epcot and Le Cellier (D)
10/26- Magic Kingdom and Chef Mickeys (D)
10/27- Magic Kingdom and Kona (D)
10/28- Epcot and Big River Grille and Brewing (D)

...I just realized I did all dinner. Oh well. :)

we'll be at epcot the same day. we have coral reef for lunch. and that's the night my mom is watching the kids, so we're going to cali grille and then will head to the dualing piano bars on the boardwalk.

I booked our hotel for 10/24 we are staying at allstar sports, over to boardwalk and nick hotel for 11/1.

Hmm.. I was thinking about going to Big River Grille for dinner but they don't take ADRs and I don't know that I want to deal with that mess during free dining. So I made a second ADR at Le Cellier for that night.

December, yes, thankfully I got everything that I wanted. It helped that I didn't sleep last night... :lmao:

I am definitely lucky. Another reason why Lucas might just be the only one kid for me... he's definitely spoiling me on the realities of having a baby! I went to my regular Dr. yesterday and he laid on the exam table the whole time just staring at us and my Dr. kept saying "That is the calmest newborn I have ever seen."
Makes a momma proud, and grateful!, that is for sure!!!
(DH HATES when Lucas gets hiccups, he always feels so bad for him.)

Geez, Staley-- you're crammed in there tight!!

It's got to be great having them close by, though, isn't it? DH thinks I'm crazy that if he's still awake when Lucas gets hungry I'll bring him back in the bed to give him his bottle. I just like everyone being together.

How great for your friend!!!! #5 and #6? Oh my!! She can definitely probably use your guidance-- you seem to have that twin thing down and I bet she is overwhelmed!! Are her other kids older?
My friend that I've been crossing my fingers stays pregnant had an ultrasound Monday and they said the heartbeat was weak so she has another Wednesday I think. I think I might be as nervous as she is, I want this for her so badly. And of course I'd love to have a friend with a baby!

I am sooo excited Disney released Free Dining for our dates!!! I can't wait to get back from my errands and call to see if it is a better deal than the Pin Code I have booked right now!! WooHoo!!
We are total suckers for family togetherness... When the twins were first born, my husband just couldnt imagine putting them in the big cold crib. :lmao: But now they are just way to big to both sleep with us. Especially when my 4yo decides to sleep with us. You should see us when we have a thunderstorm.. Who knew I could fit all four kids in my bed with me. :rotfl2:

She has a 13yo, 12yo, 7yo, and a 14 month old.. The older kids can help out.. thank goodness. I am SOOO excited for them!! Its been so much fun for me to have the twins.. Stressful for sure, scary... and the pregnancy was awful. But I would do it again in a minute. Now I dont have too.. I cant just live vicariously through her. :lmao:

Good luck to your friend!! I hope it goes well for her!

Good morning everyone. Hope we all had a wonderful weekend. My parents came out on Friday night. I was able to sleep in both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Last night, I guess Natalie was so worn out from the weekend that she slept from 11 pm to 5:30 am. then went back to bed after her bottle and got up at 8:30. I am going to have to pinch myself!!!

All this Disney talk is really making me miss it. We are going the Friday after Thanksgiving. It will be just me and my husband. My parents will be staying here with Natalie. I know it will be hard to leave her, but it will be really nice to have 5 days with my husband:love:

we originally had le cellier for that night until my mom said she'd watch the kids...we could have still gone there, but i wanted to go somewhere we haven't been in ages and wouldn't bring the kids.

We got everything we wanted..within a few minutes!
Here is my list....
Sunday Ohana (D)
Monday Mama Melrose (L), Fultons (D)
Tues (my bday!!) Trex (L) CRT (D), MNSSHP
Wed Coral Reef (L) Cali Grille (D)
Thurs Ohana (B), Le Cellier (D) and the wildlife animal discovery for me and my 7 year old. It's a tour at AK only avail if you're staying club level..jumped on that one as I doubt we'll stay CL again :) Unless I get really spoiled.
Fri Crystal Palace (B) Tonys (L), Pirates league for my 7 year old
Sat Chef Mickey (B)
Now of course that we extended a day on either side, I could still add something...but I think I have all restaurants, as I'm sure we'll hit Rainforest and we are staying at boardwalk, so we always go to ESPN more then once. :cool1:

It feels very official now, as flights booked yesterday, day on either end booked yesterday. Food booked today! Now I need to order tickets thru my work....they have one that will work perfect for us. I normally get 10 day no exp, but this trip is enough and we'll prob hit parks each day..so really wouldn't be worth $200/ticket for the no exp.

Katie is sick:sick:. She woke up this morning, all smiles as usual, but with a runny nose and a cough. We went and worked in my classroom for awhile, then out to my sisters to help her get internet (the girl will be 32 Sunday and has never sent an email!). I noticed her eyes were watery, and she started getting fussy, so we came home. She acted like she wanted to nurse, but then wouldn't. And then she threw up everywhere. I'm freaking out-she is too little to be sick. And I'm so upset with myself that I took her to the funeral home the other night with all those people touching and holding her! I see a trip to the dr. for us tomorrow if she doesn't get better overnight.

I had my surgery this morning, came home and my flights had changed!! I had to redo my first day ADR for Tony's and switch its place with Kona (since Kona is open later)

Oh well. Not a huge deal, but I bet it was a funny site here.. my mom was yelling at me to go to bed and I said "No, I have to get new reservations or I might not get what I want!!!" :rotfl:

It went well, all the nurses kept saying (in shock) that I was a star because I got up and went to the bathroom right when she brought me to recovery.. and didn't need help walking.
I told them I had a c-section 8 weeks ago and got used to walking through the pain [and hey it actually helps to move!] and they were still in shock I got up by myself.
Uh, you do what you have to do. And I've got to walk to see my boy!

...the boy who my mom took back to her house tonight while I was asleep! I'm so bummed. I barely even got to see him after I got home from the surgery and she took him! :sad1:

december, how is Katie doing today?? She is in my thoughts!!

How is Katie feeling today?

Piecey- Glad your surgery is over with!!! How are you feeling?

I'm glad your gallbladder is gone and you came through the surgery so well.

Piecey, I'm so glad that is over with for you! I understand completely on the adrs. I made mine at 6am on May 19 for our Thanksgiving 2007 trip. I was so excited to have everything. I was also checking flight info constantly, because I had read that Airtran changes things alot. A couple of weeks before my trip, they changed my departure flight from late afternoon to early morning! We lost a half day of vacation, and I had to change my adr for that day-which was Thanksgiving Day-to one earlier in the week. And Airtran never did notify me-if I hadn't been checking flights myself I don't know what would have happened.

Katie is better today. She slept from 10 last night until 10 this morning, and only woke up once to nurse! She is still coughing some and sneezing, but other than that she has been in a great mood. Other than bathtime tonight anyway. She usually LOVES her baths. But she was playing with her big brother (who she has wrapped around her little finger) and when I took her to bathe she screamed until I gave her back to him. She's asleep in his lap right now.

I'm going to vent here for a second so I don't vent to dh. He came in from work at 5, changed clothes, and said he was running to his brother's house (about 30 min away) and would be back in a little while. It is 9pm, he still isn't home, and his phone is laying on the baby's dresser!:headache: When he goes down there, he loses all track of time! Thank goodness I have the kids to help me out.

Thanks everybody!!
Yep! It's gone!! WOOHOO!! :banana::cheer2:

My torso area is beginning to look a bit like Frankenstein now, though. DH claims he still loves me.

Having the surgery at that hospital just reinforced that I will not ever go there again if I can help it. Unfortunately, my hospital of choice is Catholic so if I have another baby I couldn't get my tubes tied like I'd want... :headache:

december, maybe Airtran is trying to be better? We're flying Airtran and they e-mailed me and had a button in the e-mail to click to "accept"... (I HAVE to accept, we're flying out of Charleston, WV and there is only 1 flight a day to Orlando! :rotfl:)
We were originally supposed to depart here at 3 and land at 5 and I'd made a 7:15 ADR at Tony's, hoping to wait for an outside table and catch Spectro.
Now we don't leave here until 4:35, landing at 6:25 so I switched to Kona at 9pm our first night.
Coming home I don't mind so much, we were originally scheduled to leave Orlando at 12:45 and now we're coming home at 2. It'll give us an extra hour to just relax around the resort and have some breakfast in the food court...

I'm glad Katie is feeling better! :goodvibes

My mom took the week off to spend with me and take care of Lucas... and she took him home with her last night while I was asleep after the surgery. She is supposed to be bringing him back everyday and I guess taking him home with her every night.. DH and her made the arrangements. I just know I miss my boy!! He better get here soon!! :upsidedow

Airtran was great other than that very serious blip! That is the only time I've ever used them. They don't fly out of MS. We lived in north MS for about 10 mos in 2007/2008 and we flew out of Memphis. There were several flights available that day, for $59 each:banana:, and I picked the latest one, even though it had a layover, so we would have time to explore the resorts that day and have breakfast at 'Ohana. They canceled all but 2 flights (flying ON Thanksgiving was great because very few people were doing it), one with and one without a layover, both early morning. They had switched me to one with a layover. Since we didn't have time to do anything anyway, I switched to the direct flight (left about an hour before the other one). So we got home alot quicker. They were very nice about switching it, and very apologetic about not contacting me.

I would definitely fly with them again, if they were closer, but would check my flight info closely!

Hi everyone!

Just checking in! Everything is going great so far. The only issue we're having is with sleep. Lily doesn't like her bassinet so far. She'll only sleep in her swing or when being cuddled. I'm not sure there's anything wrong with that right now, but DH wants her in the bassinet.

Here's a new pic:

Yeah, I have flown them once before-- to Orlando for my cruise in 2006 and I think I like them better than US Air, American, etc. They just recently started service in Charleston, WV about 4 weeks ago. So I figured there would be SOME schedule change as there is only the one flight and they'd need to fine tune all the details.

I just couldn't beat the convenience.. Charleston is only an hour, and a tiny airport in comparison to Columbus/Pittsburgh where we usually fly out of. The prices were the same to fly out of Charleston vs. Columbus/Pittsburgh too.. so I chose Charleston, since it's closer to home and I think the smaller airport will be better since we'll have Lucas, too. The price was right, too! It was $348 for both roundtrip tickets. I was pretty happy and I'll fly them again.. I just don't know now that we'll get to take advantage of MK our first night there like I had originally planned.

Sarah, she's adorable!
Sorry about the bassinet thing. Is it in your room?
Lucas has only ever slept in his crib and once I put a radio in there all his fussing stopped...

Still waiting on my mom to bring him! It's been over 24 hours since I've seen my boy now... GRR. Sucky considering I didn't even know she took him!

Piecey, I know you are going crazy waiting on Lucas to get home!

harleyquinn, she is adorable! Maybe you'll be as lucky as Piecey and get her to sleep on her on. I was determined that Katie was going to sleep in her bed, too. But I found out really quick that if I wanted to get any sleep, she was sleeping with me. 11 wks later, she is sleeping 10 hrs at night, waking up once to nurse, but still with me!
