I've been trying to remember that, too. Both of my older kids had blue eyes for months (but I don't remember exactly how many!) before ds12's turned green, and dd9's turned hazel. Katie's eyes are a beautiful shade of blue, and I'd love for them to stay that way.
But I can remember people talking about my eyes in early elementary. They were a blue green color, and teachers always commented on them. Now they are green. So I guess they can change colors after many year?
Yesterday was a sad day. One of our friends died of cancer. Her father and dh's father worked together, and she used to babysit dh (who is 37) and his little brother when they would go on company trips. She would be about 40 or 41. She was also ds12's librarian, so he is very upset. I'm sure there are 100s of other kids upset today as well, as word gets out. She has only known she had it for about 6 wks. Dh picked up ds12 the last day of school (8 wks ago) and went in to talk to her. She was fine! After school was out, she started having problems going to the bathroom, and went to the dr. for a checkup. That is when they found it.
She was married once when she was younger, and he cheated. She has lived with her boyfriend for years now. He was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, and she has taken care of him all this time. He is still living with the cancer, but doing great. She never had kids. I feel so sorry for her parents. She and the boyfriend lived right next door to them. She had one brother, who also never had kids.
Lucas' eyes are still the dark grey color... they've lightened up a lot from the grey they were at birth, and we can see a bit of blue in them... but they're still VERY dark and definitely grey.
DH's eyes transition between green and blue, but mostly they're blue... and mine are blue.
Just waiting on Lucas' to settle down.

How sad about your friend. It sounds like a lot of people will be touched by her death.
