The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Wow! That is one EXPENSIVE stroller! And I thought the City Joggers were at the high end of the price range...
I love the "pram" style strollers though...they are so classic looking!

I KNOW it! Dang. But so freaking cute. I cant ever imagine spending that much for a stroller. Really.. Its almost two car payments. :lmao:

We sure aren't talkative around here lately.

Lily was awesome today. Last night she slept for 8 straight hours. We got up and went grocery shopping. After that she would sleep for an hour, wake up, eat, get her dipey changed, fuss for like 5 minutes and go back to sleep. I got to play 3 hours of my new video game! lol Priorities. When I left her with her daddy she was being SUPER cute, which was good cuz he had a bad day.

Oh, and DH and I talked. We decided that the cosleeping thing is working out so well that we don't see the need to force her into the crib. We're still going to try--especially for naps, but at this point, we don't want to fix what isn't broken. Plus, I've gotten really attached to it! Which is too funny since I hated it in the beginning. I actually sleep better now than I used to and there's nothing like opening your eyes and seeing that tiny little sleeping face. She does this thing where she'll smack her little lips...it's probably one of the things I like the most about this parenting thing so far. :teeth:

Lucas does that.. it's so cute. :lovestruc

Go down to the store and see if theywill fit the car seat into your car to see if it fits. I am pretty sure you can do this at a baby r us.

We don't have a BRU. I have ordered both carseats off the internet now.
The Nautilus I just ordered will at least go to 100lbs so we shouldn't need to replace it...his infant seat goes to 30 rear-facing so I'm happy with that. :goodvibes

It's adorable! But I agree... it's a car and mortgage payment for us! :scared1:

I'm going on vacation. Somewhere. I need to decide where. My girlfriend and I have gone a girls trip the last few years and we didn't this year. We got to talking, I was bummed.. and now I'm going. I'm not positive DH is behind it 100% but I'm to the point that I don't really care. He ruined my WDW trip so I'm taking something for me... he did agree to take 1-2 days of leave so I could go w/o Lucas. So that is a start I suppose. :)

GOOD for you!! I was always to worried when my older kids were babies..I just couldnt do it. WHY?? Because Im DUMB! :lmao: I am going to Disneyland with some friends in February.. and I am THRILLED. I cant wait.:cool1: I DESERVE to have a few days for just me. To have some fun without worrying about four little kids. Not that I wont worry.. Because I WILL. My dh is totally on board with it. He sees what I do, and knows that he would go bonkers if he had to do it if I went crazy and had to be locked up. :lmao: So a few days for mommys sanity is worth it to him!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am looking at getting the City Mini now.. Im pretty sure we talked about it a few weeks back. I have been on the fence for a while. We need something, and if I am already going to spend a couple hundred on something... I want to make sure it is good and sturdy. I looked at the Micro, but dh really didnt like it.

Micro...

They both hold up to fifty pounds on each side.. So they will last us a while.. But the mini looks SO much bigger than the micro. The shade is bigger, which is important in Washington. :lmao: it has more storage... Just all around roomier looking. I also saw that the Classic was the same price as the mini.. But I really dont like the looks of it. HMMMMMMMM.... Decisions, Decisions...

I'm jealous. Dh doesn't even want me going to Walmart without Katie. She screams when I leave, even if it is for an hour. She just wants me in her sight! She is ok at daycare, but not at home without me.

I need to get a new carseat, too, but haven't made up my mind what I'm going to spend.:scared1:

Ugh.. my three little ones all freak out when I leave. But sometimes.. I HAVE to leave. Even if its just to run out for something quick. I get all twitchy if I cant have a little quiet every once in a while :lmao: My husband can see it coming in my eyes... Hey.. Babe.. You should go to the book store... Before you kill us all!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

My husband is pretty good about that too. And he says something similar before sending me out the door. :)

I wish.

DH doesn't get it at all.
I went with my friend to Columbus... because (I kid you not) she craved a burger from 5 Guys and that is the closest to us. Asked if I wanted to go, I said sure- it gets me out of the house.
So when we were 45 minutes from home DH called and said "Hey, I took the day off to have some 'me' time"
I was like, you couldn't have told me that so I could have left you Lucas? and he goes "I wanted me time, not me and Lucas time." GR!
Then he proceeded to tell me that my day in Columbus with my friend was me time for me. Even though I had Lucas and was dragging him all over Columbus.. which at just a few months was stressful and exhausting.

He just doesn't get it.
One minute he admits that he couldn't do what I do, the next he's giving me crap.
He admitted when I first brought up this vacation that he thought "Great, something else I get to pay for."
I just can't take it anymore. He's a selfish baffoon 78.9% of the time. He told me we just got back from vacation. UH, hello?! How about a totally ruined SHELL of a vacation??

If he doesn't get help, we won't make it. I already feel half-hearted about this trip because of his BS but I'm going to go because I deserve and need it. And I'm about 89.7% positive we won't make it if I don't stop taking his crap all the time.

I'd love to get away for a weekend with the girls! But, nursing on demand doesn't really work out with that situation. DH has a Christmas party from 5-11 but I'm thinking we will only be able to do dinner. It's in the next town over, so I guess I could sneak away and nurse then go back. I did the same thing for a wedding in August. My sis called and said "this baby is hungry... now!". So I drove home after dinner and got back in time for cake. ;)

I just got a different stroller for the kiddos. Love the double Pram, so stylish! I got the Peg Perego Aria twin side by side. I can't do the tandem anymore. Our little one is sitting up so he's able to sit in the back without his carrier now. I love how tiny the new one folds down. The handle collapses down completely once it's folded so it's about the size of a medium suitcase. It's around 16 pounds versus the tandem which was 27. Whew! That was the fastest 10 pounds I ever lost. :)

Oy. Thats rough. Im sorry you having such a tough go of it right now. I really hope he gets some help soon.. He is putting way to much stress on you. One of the first things my husband learned when I quit working.. Whatever money HE makes at work.. Is OUR money. He once said to me something about it being HIS money.. :sad2: Never again. Just because I dont have a job out side of the home, doesnt mean that I dont work really hard here.. Because believe ME.. Taking care of the kids and house isnt all that fun all the time.

I got the... You dont do anything around here.. this weekend. :scared1::scared1: In the KITCHEN of all places. Where we keep the KNIVES!! Not so smart of him. He backpedaled so fast.. He felt like such a jerk. Oy. Fight of the century at our house. and we NEVER fight.

Arent those tandems the worst?? Ugh. I am really starting to hate mine.

I'm eyeing up the mini too. I don't like the looks of the micro either. I too have noticed the price of the classic has been down, making it comparable to the mini. I, on the other hand like the bigger wheels on the classic, so my choice is between the mini & the classic. To my way of thinking bigger wheels = easier to push -- which will be key as these kids get bigger. Once we're pushing around 60, 70 or 80 lbs of kids, having the easiest to push stroller will become very important. I wish I could see these strollers in person to test drive 'em. Then it'd be pretty easy to decide I think.

I think I'm waiting til after we get out tax refund to buy our next stroller & carseats. :)

I have a single City Mini and it is the best investment we ever made. DH even agreed it is worth every penny. Only problem now is I wish I had a double not just a single. DH compared the City Mini with the Joovy and MacClaren and said it was not even a close comparision.

As far as carseats, I love DS's Britax Marathon. It fit fine in my Toyota Camry before I got my Town & Country. I got a good deal online on a retired fabric.

These are the two expensives purchases that we do not regret. DH keeps asking when DD will be getting her Marathon.

I am so frustrated. I have been paying close attention to news to keep up to date on getting myself a shot to protect DD. The hospital where I delivered her at is having a clinic this Saturday. I was so excited and prepared to wait in line to get one. I researched it further and found out it is for only pregnant woman (ok) and new mothers with infants under 2 months. Just seems discriminatory to me. What about those of us with 2-6 month olds who can not get the vaccine. The Board of Health keeps mentioning those groups that should be of concern and priority... caregivers of infants under 6 months were list right after school age children, and pregnant woman. I would not have any problem if it were just pregnant woman but to me if it is for woman with infants it should involve the whole group of those under 6 months!!!! WTH. :headache:

Rant over!

That stinks that you're not included in the group. Our board of health is including care givers of 6m and less. I haven't decided if I want to get it. DH and his dad both have bad reactions to the regular flu shot, but with DH in emergency services I want him to get one. It's becoming more available now, but I don't want to wait in a huge line with a 2 year old and a 5m old. Our drs office is out of it again.

I have been doing some research, and it looks like they might be discontinuing Classic. Im not SURE.. Dont quote me on that.. But if you look at the City Jogger website... Its not even on there any more. :confused3

I was also looking online, and it said that Bed Bath and Beyond had them in stock.. In the store. :confused3 WHY BBB would have them I DONT know. But thats what I read. Maybe Ill go check it out tomorrow.

I think BBB might have them listed because they also own Buy Buy Baby.

Okay... I am so out of the loop. I have no idea what that is. :lmao:I wonder if any of the more Boutique-y baby store would have one in stock..

I found places that do have them.. The bigger Babies R us in the area, REI.. But just the Flagship store, and some sports store.
