The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Patsy, I would take him. I'm like you-I don't want to be the one always running to the dr. I'm usually relieved when I get a clear diagnosis, like ds12's strep last week.

I love my hair right now. And for the 1st time, I got a compliment from dh when I got home. I was able to work on a paper while I was there, which was nice. I can't wash for 48 hrs. I can't wait to see if it looks as good for me!

Awesome!! I have wanted to get my hair straightened for a while. But it is at least $200 here! And that was a few years ago. I just cant hang with spending that much money on hair! Im glad you love it! I really might have to bite the bullet and do it. My hair is a hot mess!:lmao:

I'd be pretty mad at him, too!!!!! I wanna go to Key West!!!! :lmao: Bummer that he finally gets to go probably the first time you've not been able to visit him!!

Well, we're back! Good news is that they heard nothing in his lungs so that was a major relief.
When she used the little light thing to look in his throat I got a good luck and sure enough, the top 2 teeth are on the way in! I can see one of them already breaking through but the other still just has that look that the tooth is on it's way.

Poor baby is coughing, fevered and teething! Ugh!!! Luckily he is still sleeping a ton!

They gave me a liquid steroid for him to take a few days. Said if he's not doing any better tomorrow/Friday morning to absolutely call because they'll want to take another listen. We're literally JUST down the street from the hospital (where the pedi's office is) so I might just take him Friday morning to ease my mind over the weekend. She said that was totally okay, so if he's still coughing like this I'll take him in.
She said, like I'd heard, that there is a TON of pneumonia going around so they're being super careful. She listened to him for a good 5 minutes.

I feel a lot better having taken him, though.

... the pharmacist cracked me up, too!! He said the original drug that came up had a TON of alcohol in it so he was trying to find a generic with less alcohol content (apologizing for the wait) then he laughed and said "Though it is St. Patty's Day so if you want a drunk baby I can switch it back"

My lights went out a while ago, and just came back on! I had done everything I wanted to do today except iron clothes and vacuum!:rotfl: I just went ahead and picked up Katie since I couldn't do anything else, including schoolwork, anyway. They have been switching the workers up for some reason-maybe to get the babies used to others???? Anyway, the lady in Katie's room said they had the best time today. She said one time she told Katie no-no and Katie did a big dramatic eyeroll at her! So I'm sure I've got trouble on my hands! A one year old with attitude!:scared1::rotfl:

Check the prices again. I read about it years ago, and it was so expensive. I just really wanted to not look scary on vacation! I was shocked when she said $60, and that included the cut! I was there for 2 1/2 hours, she washed it, applied the 1st solution, had to sit for 45 min, washed it out, applied the 2nd solution, washed it out, waxed my very unruly eyebrows (I have really let myself go lately!), and dried my hair, all for $70!

I'm glad Lucas was ok. But I really hope he starts acting like he feels better. I know this is tough for you. I still have a knot, and it is tender to the touch, but no other problems.

I am going to check prices again.. I need to do something with this mess I have going on. My hair is SUPER long. Down to my tushy.. Really frizzy, curly.. And thin now that I have lost so much hair from having the twins.

Patsy.. Im glad you took Lucas in. Its hard to see on little ones when they need to go in. If they are sick for a few days, I usually take them in.

We got a big ole check in the mail yesterday... We got our deposit back on our other apartment.:cool1: They only took $200 out for cleaning and damages. Which is awesome.. Because we destroyed that place!:lmao: I also saw that someone moved in last weekend.. Made me kinda sad. We lived there for 7 years! Heres hoping we can afford a house before we live here for 7 years!:lmao:

Okay, speaking of thermometers, does anyone use the temperal kind you roll across the forehead? I am leaning towards wanting to get one!

:thumbsup2 We do!! I usually test it out on me first, to make sure it's reading right, but it seems pretty accurate. I have the same one my pediatrician has, I think it was about $45? VERY easy!

Isabel had a 5 month well visit today. . . she's 25 inches tall (75th percentile) and 13 lbs 8 ounces (25th Percentile). . . I guess that's on the BF babies chart, because on the chart I have it says 10th percentile weight and 50th height.

Have any of you delayed vaccine's? I don't want to start a debate, but we have not given her any yet and are going to go slowly on them (a-la Dr. Sear's schedule), our Ped is very supportive, especially since I am BFing, I was just wondering if any of you are delaying what you are doing.

We delay. She's had a handful, we get 1 or 2 a month though when she's sick we skip it. She goes at the end of the month so I'll talk to her new ped about what we are going to do. I'm not opposed to vaxes, I just think it's too many (compared to what we got) but I would like her fully vaxed by school age.

Hope Lucas is feeling better today!

I want a before and after pic december!

So Lily is now a total little grandpa's girl. He's been watching her with my mom and she just loves him to pieces. She likes to cuddle with him. It's very sweet. Definitely helps my dad with his situation.

Oh my goodness.

So about 11pm last night Lucas started crying. Not typical of him, we were both still up so I went in to get him. Thought cuddling with us might help, since he's actually wanted to cuddle lately.

Well, as soon as I walked back in our room he started vommiting. :( Nonstop for like 20 minutes. Called the pedi on call and waited in the bathtub (he was still vommiting) for a call back.
Never got one. GRRR!! His fever was 100 w/ Tylenol so I just took him to the ER.
They brought in a respiratory therapist who gave him a nebulizer treatment and OMG the difference is amazing. His cough isn't even half as bad.

They're pretty sure the vommiting was from the pressure of how deep/hard his coughs were. Still scary as all get out! He was still vommiting at the ER, too. :(

So they gave him some Pedialyte and monitored to see if he could keep it down or if the coughs were still bad enough to make him throw it up, too. He kept it down! So we got to come home about 3am with a bag full of Pedialyte for today.

It also reinforced how much I LOVE that hospital. Every employee I came in contact with was amazing. The check-in guy even kept coming back to check on Lucas. Sang him songs... the nurse loved him. Told him to take care of mommy. :rotfl:
The respiratory therapist patted his back and rocked him to keep him calm during the treatment. I just really love them.
The ER also gave me their phone number so if something happens again I can call to see if I should bring him in first.

All in all, I'm REALLY glad that I took him.

..now I've got a TON of laundry to go do that is covered in vomit.

Wow Patsy! How scary! Sounds like they have a wonderful staff.

How's Lucas now? Sleeping?

Patsy- Im just catching up on Lucas. I am so glad you went- sounds like the treatment really did him a lot of good. Jake loves pedialyte. He had to take nothing but pedia and laxitives when he had his colonoscopy. I hope Lucas likes it too. I hear some babies don't... but Jake liked the grape flavor (if that helps).

I was just going to tell you guys that Graco is recalling their Harmony high chairs. Mine is a Contempo so I don't think it falls under this (although I did look for a serial number on my high chair to make sure and couldnt find it. It's not where they say it is on those chairs).

He's up now... he's played in his Pack-N-Play a bit so far and now he is in his swing.

Has a fever of 101 this morning but Tylenol helped a lot!!

They gave us unflavored and he's been drinking it just fine. When DH gets back from his appt. I'm going to run out and get some more. Though, it'll probably be generic because mommy is cheap.

**************
I really need to NOT be a "fan" of Vera Bradley on Facebook. I've been wanting a new diaper bag type bag.. and the small duffel's are on sale today only and I'm so tempted.
I just don't know. I wish I had an idea, I hate blind buying off the internet-- especially because they have $8 shipping! :scared1:

Walgreen's has the generic on sale 2 for $6 for the big bottles this week. I gave Luca unflavored.

$30 is a great deal Patsy! Probably crap colors though...I only like Purple Punch and some of the newer colors...though Pucchini is tempting. I almost got a Hipster yesterday, but the shipping helped me resist! I LOVE my PP Hipster.

Thanks for the recall heads up Maggie.

Hmmm... the only Walgreens around is about a half hour from here, close to my parents. They're watching him Saturday night though so I might swing by after I drop him off and get some. Thanks for the heads up, it's probably a good thing to have around now!!

I'll have to do Kroger/CVS/Rite Aid here locally, though. And if I go to Krogers I'll get sucked back into that March Madness sale. :headache:

I want Cupcakes Green which is $30!! It's so tough!! I wish I could see it to know that I'd absolutely love it for that purpose. (diaper bag)...

I did order the Pucchini hipster yesterday with a new wallet... :rolleyes1

My birthday is in a few weeks so I keep justifying it that way. :lmao:

(eta- aren't our birthdays close together? We could buy them for ourselves and call them a bday present from each other ;) They have it in Pucchini for $30, too!)

Well, I ordered it in Raspberry Fizz...

I don't think I've seen ANYTHING in Purple Punch go on sale!!

What bag did you get last year? I forget??

I only have the Cargo Sling right now... which I think they discontinued.

Excited to get this stuff, though!!!

I had no clue what you guys were talking about (as usual, I'm lost), so I googled up the hipster. I was surprised to see that the 'mini hipster' is twice as expensive as the 'hipster'. Weird.

I like Vera Bradley but I had to do the same thing. :rotfl:

The weather here is just beautiful today. Natalie and I went for a super long walk after lunch. Then we she went for a swing on the front porch. Ahhh.... it is nice to be out of the house.

Patsy- glad to hear Lucas is feeling better. That must have been really scary.

I just made me and DH a ressie for Disneyland in September:yay: This is why i so love DVC and Grandmas :yay::banana::yay: We will stay Wed to Sun. This is the perfect amount of time for my parents to watch to baby. Well, she won't be much of a baby by then, she will be 15 months.
