Just wanted to say.....

ILL BE AT WL IN 10 DAYS!!!!!!!

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Im so floating on cloud 9 and trying desperately to keep my sanity as the days roll back and my vacation gets closer and closer. I've made my room request (5th floor, South Wing) and noted my parents 25th wedding anniversary. However, im not expecting anything. I've made my own arrangement :) I'm ordering a mini wedding cake from the Grand Floridian, I've booked a Wishes Cruise, and a Segway Tour. All new experiences and surprises to my parents :smooth:

When I get back I'll have a full resort report, complete with tons of pictures and detailed info about my room (location, #, view etc...)

All i can do now is sit back and wait :)

Congratulations, I am happy for you, we have 32 days and I can't wait!!! Just curious, what view does 5th floor South Wing give you? I requested 5th floor north wing hoping to be able to view the fireworks. Just curious since I've never been to WL! Have a GREAT trip!!!

Hello all you fellow WL fans
I just got back Saturday night and it was great!!!

Imarriedgrumpy--You are so going to love the WL.Especially the first time you go.As far as the safe goes, they are not that big. I could not fit my laptop in it.However you can have it locked up at the front desk if you wish.Thats what I did and they were wonderful.(I had work stuff on my computer so I had to)Enjoy your trip!!!

Tinkerbelle325--10 days will be here in no time at all.Have a wonderful trip :cool1:

Timeandlesley--I stayed on the southwing 5th floor Rm 5165.It was a great view of the pool, lake, and fireworks. There is an inner courtyard view and an outer courtyard. For the South wing the inner courtyard faces the pool and the outer courtyard faces the villas. For the northside, I think, the inner courtyard faces the pool( and that would be a courtyard room) and the outer courtyard faces otter pond, a view of MK sometimes, and a view of the fireworks--depending on your room location( and that would be a woods view room) So if you have north wing it depends if you are staying in a courtyard view rm(facing the pool) or a woods view (facing otter pond,MK ,ect) I hope this helps and does not confuse you more ;) You will love the WL.Have a wonderful trip.

 HI all!
The faries of Wl (or umm ghosts)
blessed me again!

I requested mk view and bunks

when I first got in the room my DS - 4 was jumping up and down sooo excited to have bunkbeds and even dd- 10 wan grinning from ear to ear.

I looked out the window though and all I could see was the contemporary :(
oh well - we were at the lodge - nuttin to complain about!

Well that night everyone went to bed at 9:45 and only I managed to stay up past ten and I hear the fireworks - so I got up and went went to the balcony and whoooooooooo :cheer2: :cheer2: I saws WISHES!
and the castle sorta - behind a tree!

5020 was the room number it rocked!
It is amazing how at the lodge I don't even mind having to wander around at 6am with the baby while everyone sleeps - it is soo peaceful (oh and the birds like cheerios - opps  )

I went to WL in January and I wanted a room near 5032 so I could see the castle, but the CM said that the trees had grown up and it was no longer visable. Is that really true, or did they just not want to bother with moving me?

Actually because of the very active hurricane season last year, more of the rooms on the North side have better views toward the MK. Tree lost was very heavy. I don't feel it's a good idea to ask for specific room, just a general area.

Just booked 3 nights in August on the Concierge level at the Passholder rate :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
I had planned to take DD to see the Gulf Coast of Florida but might have to blow that off this trip
Thinking I should surprise DD! WL is her second fave resort (and we've only stayed there once) behind her #1 GF. We'll be staying there as well (for a whole week  ) Also, our first week will be at AKL CL with friends.

:disrocks: :thewave: :disrocks:

I hope the new Lounge will be finished :cheer2:

Was this considered Courtyard view or woods view? We will be at WL for first time in June and have Courtyard view. Trying to decide what to request...north or south, what floor (most people seem to be saying fifth) - closer to lodge, further out wings, etc. Where was your room?

Hi all,

Just booked my 1st WL stay for 2 nights in August! Quick question....Is the trail from WL to FTW open these days? DH and I went to the lodge for lunch in Oct...after the hurricanes...and the trail was closed because of all the trees and debris that had fallen. Just wondering if it has been re-opened??

Has anyone stayed in a standard bunk-bed room? Just wondering where some of these rooms are located.

Thanks!!

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi! :wave2: We will be staying at the WL in June and at a 2 bedroom Villa In December. We are very excited about visiting the WL. I love this thread and have been trying to take in all the info I can from it. ;)

Has anyone been lately to fill us in on the 7th floor lounge construction?? :confused3 Just wondering. I miss my home away from home.

Hi! I've kind of been lurking here for a while, but thought I'd get into it since we've got 57 days! YEAH!!!! Anyway, for going to EPCOT, would you take the bus, or go to TTC and take the monorail (we really love riding the monorail, and really hate the bus!) Would you take a boat to the TTC, or a bus? Kind of confused on WL transportation.

:wave2: Welcome Samsma!!

Glad you posted! This thread is great- lots of good tips and help. I'll take a stab at answering your question. Good news is from the WL to Epcot, you have options!!

Here are some choices...

- WL Bus directly to Epcot (I think it will stop at Fort Wilderness after WL to pick up more folks going to Epcot).

- WL Bus to TTC then catch the Monorail

- WL Resort Boat to the Contemporary Resort, catch the Monorail to the TTC then switch to Epcot Monorail.

You can't take the WL boat to the TTC- only the bus. The WL has two boats- a larger one that goes to the MK and a smaller run that goes to the CR and FW.

If you really hate the bus, to avoid the bus, take the small boat to the CR to catch the Monorail then switch Monorails at the TTC.

Hope that helps!

Happy planning! Stop back when you return and give us a report!!

I've read that there isn't a bus that takes guests to TTC from WL anymore.

Hmmm...there was talk of trying that but not sure if it actually happened. In Dec '04 the bus still ran to the TTC.

Disney transportation is always subject to change so best bet is just confirm with the WL CMs when you check in. Often there is a CM down at the bus stop so you can confirm with them too.

Hi, they have stoped the bus to TTC about two months ago. (sniff-sniff) They now have a bus that takes you to the MK direct.

The following information was posted by our man in the Purple Pants.

But also added this information, The old route is still operational after MK closes.

So, the test route is finally happening. As of Tuesday March 8th, 2005, the following changes will be made to the Fort Wilderness & Wilderness Lodge transportation lineup:

1.) There will no longer be service to/from the Transportation & Ticket Center to the Wilderness Lodge/Fort Wilderness. The bus will still go from Fort Wilderness to Wilderness Lodge and back, but it will not be going to the TTC anymore.

2.) From Wilderness Lodge only, there will be a DIRECT bus to the Magic Kingdom. This bus will run about every 15 minutes during normal MK bus service hours.

Boat service will not change.

As with all test routes, THIS INFORMATION IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. :)

Hi, I will be visiting the Lodge in 19 days, I'll be posting a report when I return home June 5th.

dreams4disney

Congratulations, I love the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge and Christmas time is the best.

Samsma

Welcome to the thread  hope we answered you questions about the bus to TTC, I always loved having the option of jumping on the Inter-resort bus to the TTC then riding the monorail to EPCOT.

Depending on what time of year it is and attendance the bus changes between sharing with the Grand Floridian & Ft. Wilderness Campground. Unless you are up for an adventure by either riding the direct bus to MK, then riding the monorail to TTC and changing over to the EPCOT Monorail or taking the smaller resort boat between WL and the CR then riding the monorail to TTC and changing over to the EPCOT Monorail...the EPCOT bus to should be your fastest route.

Has anyone stayed in a standard bunk-bed room? Just wondering where some of these rooms are located.

This is the information we have posted on page one about room locations. :earsboy:

STANDARD ROOMS: All Non-Smoking rooms with 2 Queen Beds.
Located on Floors 4,5 & 6. On the North(MK) side, they face the service area. There are also 4th floor rooms that overlokk the lobby and look out to roof peaks. Lobby rooms do have balconies.

Beckie

I just got email from the manager there and was told they are about a month into the project. He didn't give me a time for completion though.

Thanks for the update Beckie!! You are always up to date on the latest! Like I said, WDW transporation is always subject to change.

I'll miss the WL to TTC bus too!
