Maybe not the place for this question, but does anyone know what type of coffee filters will work in the coffee pots in WL? My sister is staying with us and a big time coffee drinker. I usually use what the hotel provides in the room and I'm set for the day, but my sister needs her coffee fix in the morning and evening and I'm planning on bringing coffee this year. I know, the mug would be easier......

...they use the smaller 4-cup filters (NOT the cone-shaped ones!)...I can relate...nothing like smelling freshly brewed coffee first thing in the AM.... :cloud9:

I have 2 questions, the first one is my family and DH's family are all going together, we were talking about getting the 2 bedroom Villa, there will be 10 of us but 2 are under 2 years of age. Can we still get one 2 bedroom Villa? My other question is I read on the Disney site that if there are more than 2 adults the charge an extra $25 an adult, would they still do that with the Villa and if so is that a flat fee or is that for every night we are there? Sorry about so many questions but this is my first time and I just don't know. Any help would be greatlly appreciated :)

Does anyone know if the rooms have dvd players. Was wondering if we should bring some dvd's for the kids during down time?

The concierge rooms have DVD players..but I don't believe the regular rooms do..at least not the last time I stayed in one.

They have a channel that plays Disney short cartoons. My kids always loved to watch that. My giant 12 yo still loved it last week!

Really?! Cool! Thanks for this tidbit, I had no idea Disney would put DVD players in rooms! Now I'll have one more thing to add to my packing list :teeth:

Have I mentioned lately that I love the Dis? You think you have all the information possible about your favorite place and yet there is always something more here that you can learn :thumbsup2

How long does it take for the boat ride to (or from ) the MK? How many boats do they have in service? Does it stop anywhere else?

Ok....I don't have time to read this whole thread. So just joining in now to subscribe and see what I can learn from here out. We want to stay at WL for our 5/2007 trip.

How soon should we book the room? Is it too early still? Thinking about Courtyard view, but may do Woods view. Also feel free to recommend a good room to me!

Thanks.

It is usually about 20 minutes or so. Sometimes the route is to stop at Ft. Wilderness then MK. On the way back, it's WL first then Ft. Wilderness.
It's an enjoyable little boat ride. FW and WL are the only stops.

Okay this might be a strange question, but I will ask it anyway.

I am already booked for the WL the first week of June, I have the AP discount for a courtyard view.

I really wanted a woodsview room, but none were available with the AP discount.

When we check in could I ask for a woodsview room? Would they give it to me if available for my AP rate for courtyard view? Even though I have the AP discount, I would basically be giving up a more expensive room (at rack rate) for a less expensive room.

Just curious about this, no matter where we stay, I know it will be great!

Based on everything I know, it's never to early. It can be too late if you wait too long. Due to the fact that you can get all monies back until the 45 payment, I vote for book what you want you can always change it or cancel.

In early March I booked WL woodsview because there were no standards left. I wanted to hold a spot at WL for the timeframe we had the plane tickets for. The CM told me to call back every couple days to see if there was a cancellation on a standard. Sure enough after about 2 weeks there was a standard available. Then when the free dining came out I called again and they let me convert the same standard room type to the package.

I have heard unconfirmed from the boards about a rehab at WL. Has anyone been able to get something more firm about rehabs?

Yup..the Concierge at WL told me the rehab will be done by the time I arrive in August..they said it should be completed by July.

Anybody going to be at WL for Father's Day? We'll be checking in that day and having lunch at Whispering Canyon.

It'll be cool because we check in, but I am having my parents over for lunch too and they can enjoy the resort with us for the day!

Maybe we'll see some of you there?!?!

We'll be there for Father's Day this year, I was hoping Disney would do something special as they do for Mother's Day. We're hitting Whispering Canyon for breakfast too and then to Concourse Steak house to get him a steak for dinner. Unlike you, this is our last day on property.

I am a WL convert.. The first time I saw the WL was on the Great Hotels special..I had zero interest in it.I'm not into the pacific northwest. It seemed dark and not my style.. I did want to go in and check it out, which I did in 2003... My reservations were confirmed. While it was draw dropping,it just wasn't my style.. Slowly though it grew on me..In Jan I stopped in with a friend so that he could see it,I knew he would like it.. I was surprised at how much I was growing to like it... I could picture myself sitting in that lobby reading a book..
I booked a split stay for Apri.l 4th-10th. The first half was spent at POR, a favorite of mine.. The WL was spectacular and I fell in love.. Roaring Forks was open. My 6th floor woods view room(6020,Smokin optional) had a wonderful view of the MK and the fireworks.. The Castle was blocked by a tree ,but we didn't care.. We spent tons of time at the pool and just sitting in the lobby reading.
Service was wonderful. We left a tip for the maid and she left us towel animals every day .One of them was quite spectacular. I'll post pics when they are developed. On the last day at WCC they brought out a special birthday surprise for DS even though his birthday was a few days before.
The only thing I noticed in relation to room condition was that there was a bit of wallpaper peeling.. The rug was great. The room was clean and looked good aside of the minor wallpaper issue.
WE have booked another 3 days there in Nov before we switch to the AKL

latoberg,

I doubt this will help much but the concierge office said that the rehab began this week and that the Club Level will be closed down the week of July 23.

That is a big help. At least we know the rehab has been started. I was wondering if it had begun. Thanks for the input. :)
