And is there any point in requesting a specific concierge room? What are the concierge views like?

I had a Courtyard Concierge view in December..very nice. They also have Woodsview rooms and then also in the South wing looking towards the villas. If you want bunks, I was told there is only 1 bunk room in the north wing that is woodsview..so you are better off asking for a Courtyard view. I would go for the North wing where you can see the MK..but my girls want bunks, so I am requested Courtyard.

Yes, I am one the those crazy commando types that like to be at the park before opening. I'v been to Disney many times you would think I could relax, but not me. I make DH nuts too!

I have went from WL to Poly for Kona's Tonga Toast! (it's VERY sweet). Anyway..we took the boat to the MK and then took the monorail over to the Poly one time..I wouldn't do that again..it was much easier to take our own vehicle last year over to the Poly (if you have a vehicle)..if not..I would do the -boat to MK..monorail to Poly thing. As for if that will be operating for 7am..I am not quite sure what park hours are that day you are going for the boats/buses to be running for a 7am reservation.

If I want a specific room # when should I request it? When I make my ressies or when I call to confirm them? I know I might not the the room I want but I thought it wouldn't hurt to request it. Thanks for all the advice, I this thread. It is our first trip ever and I can't wait.

We are staying at WL for the first time in September in a woods view room. This is our "dream trip" and we probably will never have the chance to stay here again!

I looked at the link about and saw room 5032 and the view was awesome!!!! My question is, if I request the North Wing, 5th floor will that be good enough for a nice view or should I request that specific room number? I know its a long shot but wondering which would be better. Or maybe anywhere in rooms ????? to ?????

I think any woodsview in the north wing would be fine! Don't stress over certain room numbers..it's like having a seat on the 50 yard line vs the 48 yard line..just sit back and enjoy! Even if you don't get the north wing..you'll love every moment of your stay!

I'd say you will want to take the car if you want to be on time. The boats aren't always there when you need them and to be honest, I'm not sure they start that early. Get yourself to the Poly by car and be there early for your PS. Then leave the car there and take the MR over to MK.

We are staying at the WL. One morning we would like to have breakfast at Kona's at the Poly before going to MK. I have never tried tonga toast and I really want to. I want to take the first seating at 7:00 a.m. and would like to know if we could get to the Poly by boat/bus from WL for 7:00 or would we have to take the car?

We are booked for August at the WL woods view. I requested bunk beds because I heard you can't get bunks in standard view rooms. Is this correct?
My oldest DS, 7 will roll all over my other 6 yr old DS who is tuny for his age. I am arriving on the 12th so I had to pay for it seperate so the 13-19 I could get the "FREE DINING"!!!! I was wondering if there was any advise for ADR's? I made one at Chef Mickey supper, COral Reef, dinner, Ohana- Dinner, WCC- dinner, and Mama Melrose-fanta. package. We also have Ohana for breakfast, and Sci-Fi lunch.....car. SHould any of these be changes can you think of better ones. Especially with the boys. They picked the resort and are excited. My DH is too but won't show it till closer time.
I haven't been to DIsney since 1996. And I am counting down the days Thanks to all that reply.

We've been to WDW and have stayed on site numerous times; this is first time at WL. It'll be me, my hubby and daughter (16). Time of year not my first choice but with a high schooler, we are limited. I want a relaxing vacation, no pressures and just do want we want, no sweat if we miss something. Neither my daughter or I care for wild fast rides so long lines there won't bother us!! This trip is a last minute, just get away from the real world for a while after my son's wedding and the craziness of the past year.
This is probably the least planned and shortest notice of a disney trip we've ever done. Just decided two weeks ago this was where we wanted to go, went online to the WDW website and booked a package with dining.

You are a better person than I and very brave if I may add. I can't take the heat or crowds during the summer months but everyone is different. heh.



This is a tough question. I'll answer in the way I feel is most helpfull.

It all depends on what kind of a traveller/vacationer you are.

Are you high strung and run a really tight schedule? Do you absolutely NEED to be at the restaraunt on time no matter what? If so, the busses will make you stress out. Rent a car.

Are you going with kids and plan to see a lot in one day? After a long day, do you mind waiting for a bus for 10 minutes with a kid alseep in your arms even though your feet are killing you from walking around the parks all day? (On one occasion, I had to stand on the bus in this very scenario and nobody offered me a seat!) If so, the busses will make you stress out. Rent a car.

Are you ok with your kids being a little out of control sometimes and aren't in much of a hurry? Take the bus. They are fantastic. (And most important, FREE!)

Are you trying to take in everything you can and simply enjoy your vacation? Take the bus. They are fantastic. (And most important, FREE!)

There are pros and cons for both. (Obviously!)

When we've had a car it is really nice to just get up and go wherever you want without waiting or worrying about a time limit. Makes planning your days a bit easier as they are more predictable.

However, the past few years, we've used buses and boats and they've been just fine for us. We've gotten used to how to handle or time and schedules to work around the bus schedules so it's no big deal.

Everyone's different. That's why there are options. You have to "honestly" examine your typical family and vacation lifestyle to make the best decision for you and your family's vacation.

The standard rooms on the north side of the lodge overlook the service area..the standard rooms on the south side of the lodge overlook the roof and you can see the parking lot from them. I don't know if there are any other standard views..as those are the only 2 I am familiar with

The one thing for Sci Fi for lunch is it is not a great bargain. We are going in two weeks and will do it for lunch and pay for it ourselves. The dining plan costs $35.00 a day for us (your plan is free but take advantage of it). I would also try liberty tree tavern as well as Biergarten in Germany in Epcot. They let you go towards the stage and have fun things to do and play the chicken dance etc. It is geared for everyone and the food is pretty good too. Let me know if you need anything else

...you are correct; those ARE the only standard rooms....all other rooms are considered 'woods view' or 'courtyard view', which are upgrades.....

We are booked for 2 nights in May. We have a courtyard view. I know absolutely nothing about the resort. What should my request consist of? It's just DH and myself. I am not too sure of the courtyard views, what does it consist of? TIA

...depending on WHERE you are located on the inside of the "U" (the shape of the building) will be your 'courtyard view' location...for instance, you might be closer to the main section of the building, so you will have a better view of the falls. Or, you could be further out on either side of the "U", nearer the pool and lake....either way, you will have a lovely view....

I think I have fallen in love with WL now! We stayed at CSR last week and had an ADR at WCC. After our wonderful meal we walked around the Lodge and it is amazing! We are planning another trip for 2008 now and I think WL wins hands down for where we will stay. Now if we can convince the rest of the family...

We will be going with the extended family. Originally it was going to be our family and the in-laws, now sis-in-law and her family want to do the big family trip. I think we may just have to say we'll meet up with them so we can each stay at the resort of our choice.

SHHHHH!!! I just upgraded from POFQ to WL Concierge in Sept.. WE stayed there during our Disneymoon, in a courtyard room. I have soooo many questions!!!! Having problems with finding them. Any info from others who have stayed at concierge would be much appreciated!!! When do they get in touch with you???
