So I still can't really get an answer so I'll ask again : )

If I want a woodsview rooms 026-034 on the 3-5th floors to see WISHES from the balcony should I take the bunkbed request off of my ressie, or do rooms exist there with bunkbeds? I'd rather have the view than the bunkbeds. any help would be great.

Hi. I have gotten through about 1/4 of this thread and am still working on it but I had a question and a search didn't turn it up. My DFi (DH by then) will be there the 5th -12th of December and we booked a honeymoon suite. What I have read so far tells me I should request a north view to be able to see part of MK and also that the suites are right above WCC (though a few floors up). Also from what I read it seems that the concierge lounge shares a wall with the suites. So my question is will noise from the WCC or lounge be a problem in a north view room if we can get one. We will probably want to sleep in a couple of days and I am a light sleeper, of course if the noise is a problem I can jsut wear earplugs but I just wanted to know what to expect. Thanks.

Hi!

We will be at WL for the first time for Christmas this year.

In the restaurant board, someone posted a picture of a birthday cake that they had ordered and delivered to their room.

Does anyone know if this is just for concierge? We will not be concierge and I would like to order a cake that says Merry Christmas and have it delivered to the room while we are gone. Who do I contact?

Thanks!

Seana,
I know this is an old post but I had to laugh about the comment about your husband......I have one of those. He loves Disney but every few years is just fine with him until I told him I want to take a Disney cruise for our 20th ann. he was on that like white on rice lol

Have a magical day,
Anna

Thanks for starting the new thread. It really looks terrific.

Fred,
I did a survey for our stay at the Lodge in September. I will get it over to you soon. We stayed in Room 4081 (one night) and 5026. I have balcony views for 5026.

On a side note. DH loved our WL stay so much he is already looking into another trip for November 2005! This is a man who until this trip would only agree to travelling to Disney every 5 years.

I'm only a 10th of the way through but I had to post. On my honeymoon in 1988 I was told to ask for a rock pool view at the poly. Well I SO did not get accomdated. I must say that I had a beautiful view, a view of the castle from my balcony but I was a bit tweaked about not getting what I want. I've never stayed at the WL will be staying there 4/30-5/8 06. SO I can't say where to stay but I will say 1 day before you go call the lodge that's when they are setting up the rooms for the next day, remind them what you want. When you check in do the same thing. You'll have a better chance. Just my couple O' pennies worth. If you have half the honeymoon I did in WDW you will have one of the greatest memories of your life, they are only surpassed by my experiences with my 2 boys. Also, you can't take enough pictures, trust me I am married to Cecil B. DeMille Jr and it's wonderful. He took pictures of our room when we arrived...everything in between.....a pictures of our room as we left, it's all good

Have a magical day,
Anna

I would call the WL at 1-407-824-3200. I would ask them, they should be the "expert", the good Lord willing lol. I think the bunkbeds will restrict you. I believe those rooms are limited. I'm hoping for them 4/30-5/8 Me and my younger son in the bunks (he gets the top lol) my husband and older son in the bed (older son is too big for them) I'm told they add more room to the room. Just to let you know I learned the other day the bunks are no good for anyone over 5'5" (I'm 5'2") :o)

Hi :wave2: We returned from a trip this past February. We had a courtyard view and upon check-in was told "this is a great room, you've got bunkbeds!!" I didn't request bunkbeds and was concerned because my DD's are both around 5'8". The CM told us they are as long as the double beds and to give it a look. We did and she was right. My DD's both fit just fine as long as thy remembered to not sit bolt upright :thumbsup2 They actually did better with the bunkbeds than sleeping together in a double. No more "she's touching me!!" just as I was about to fall asleep. Priceless!!

What room did you have courtside and did you like the view or would have preferred another part of the courtside. We asked for bunk beds and want a nice view too. Any help would be great

We were in room 2153. Not too high but we liked the view of the pool, lake and geyser. I tried to attach a picture to show you but wasn't able to figure out how. :confused3 The only thing we didn't like about the room is it was an adjoining room and a bit noisy. However a quick trip to the front desk and request for a fan for white noise made it quite pleasant.

Have a magical trip!! And lots of pixiedust:

Well thank you for clearing that up for me. That is a really big help. My son is about 6' so he may still be too tall but he really wanted to sleep in the bunkbeds so maybe he'll get lucky.

Have a magical day,
Anna

The bunkbeds do have a footboard type thing on both bunks so the feet can't hang over the end - if that makes a difference. The doubles don't have a tall footboard (which is good so my very tall DH can hang his feet off the end). But watch out for the lower parts of the bed that have been known to jump out and attack your shins as you walk by. Ouch!! We put towels around the footboard posts to minimize the bruising. :)

I am calling to make my reservation tomorrow for our June trip since the AP rates came out. I had wanted woodsview room, but none are available for our trip (although I will keep calling and checking) the only thing available is the courtyard view.

I wanted to check in here with the experts, because I got a fabulous room and view last year when we went with this thread's help!

We will have a courtyard view with a request for a smoking room. If we get a smoking room with a courtyard view, we would be on the 6th floor, is that right? We stayed at the WL last year in a smoking room woodsview, so are the courtyard rooms across the hall? If so, what do those rooms look out on? And also do those rooms have a balcony? The balcony is a must, since we have children, we are obviously not smoking in the room.

Thanks in advance for your help!

We have a relative traveling with us this year and have booked a King (roll in shower-handicapped) that connects to 2 queens on the 7th floor concierge level. Does anyone know where these rooms may be and what view? Thanks! We have rquested a courtyard view rather than a woods but it is not guaranteed.

JennaTX - yes, those rooms are across the hall from where you stayed previously. All the smoking rooms are on the sixth floor in the north wing after the last turn...great view!

Hi fellow Lodgers! :cool1:

Just catching up on some great Wilderness Lodge reading. We won't be going back until summer '06 to celebrate our 20th Anniversary! We miss the Lodge sooooo much!

Trying again- Anyone ever stayed in the king handicapped that connects to 2 queens on 7th floor concierge?

You might wanna try contacting WL concierge DIRECTLY to get the best answer.... :sunny:

Funny, I had heard that too. I was very pleased by the anwer. We are visiting WL for the first time this May. My problem is this....I had hoped to try most if not all of the resorts before I die. Now I am affraid I will never want to go to another resort lol.

A nice bit of Wilderness Lodge information I got from the Daily Dose of Disney mailing list:

*********************************************
ANSWER TO PREVIOUS TEASER: Which WDW resort is said to have the
highest percentage of return resort guests on property, averaging
over 90% at any given time? "Wilderness Lodge".
*********************************************

Before I saw the answer to this question, Wilderness Lodge was my first guess. However, after I thought about it a bit, I decided that the answer might be Shades of Green because that resort is subsidized, so those who can stay there would almost certainly choose that over another WDW resort. However, it turned out my first impression was correct.

Oh my Lord Carol those are beautiful pictures. Thanks for getting me even "more" excited. We have booked a courtyard view.

Have a magical day,
Anna

I have only stayed Courtyard view, so I can't compare, but I loved our view and when we return this June, we are asking for the same area. Loved hearing and seeing the water, the lake, we could even see the geyser from our patio. Terrific!
