I hope I got all the information correct, I went ahead and posted the information here as the rumors have started on the Main Thread.

Can't wait until June, :bounce: may stop by the Lodge in a few weeks while I'm down there with my DSis over at Pop Century.

Who am I kidding I know I'll have to swing by the Lodge and check-out Roaring Fork, and rub Hump's nose.

See ya soon
Beckie

I think that is wonderful and can't wait to stay in a refurbished room at the lodge possibly in 2007. It does kind of stink that they could be refurbishing our favorite floor/wing when we are there in June this summer, oh well, any room at the lodge is STILL at the lodge and we'll have a great vacation regardless. Can't wait to see pic's of the new roaring forks after it's refurb. Thanks for sharing this info. with us!

Beckie,

Sounds good to me. Marcel and I almost went over to Magic Kingdom last Saturday but had some things to do at home. Hoping we could get there before our May trip. I was going to make some more brownies and bring them to to gang up in the Club Level.

When are you going to POP with your Dsis? :)

Lesley

What are your dates in June? I'll be at the Lodge from June 2-9 2006.

You never know by June they may be complete with the Woods View overlooking the otter pond with Magic Kingdon View that have new Bunk Beds.

My sister from Macon really needed to get away for a few days, so I booked a room over at Pop for March 25-29 for a quick getaway. First it was just going to be four of use now we are up to six so I had to call and book an addition room. :confused3 As always would love to see you and Marcel if you can drive over.

This Sunday I found out the boys had Monday off from school so Sunday morning I called and tried to get a room for that night. No Luck we were going to come down for the day just Blake, Bailey and me. Yesterday I keep telling Terry I could have been at the Magic Kingdom right now. I just love spur of the moment trips.

Wouldn't that be wonderful!!! I wish. We will be there June 11-19th so we'll just miss you. Have a great trip and thanks for all of your help!!!!

We are going for our first visit to the Lodge April 30 to May 6 I really need this trip. Too much family sickness

MAGICinMYHEART I wish I could be a certain as you I think someone no matter how new old or different will complain. Some people make it their life's calling. :rolleyes1 I for one will be so happy that unless it rains on me in the room.

I hope they are done this fall. We're there starting Nov 1 :cool1: It would make our trip even better to know that millions of feet haven't trampled across the carpet :goodvibes

So I still can't really get an answer so I'll ask again : )

If I want a woodsview rooms 026-034 on the 3-5th floors to see WISHES from the balcony should I take the bunkbed request off of my ressie, or do rooms exist there with bunkbeds? I'd rather have the view than the bunkbeds. any help would be great.

we stayed in 4012, which had bunkbeds and a view of wishes.

imlazar:
Thank you! I put the bunk beds back on last night. I figure if I check in and they put me with bunkbeds in a distant location like last year I will politely forgo the bunkbeds for the better view - they let me do this last year and we had a great room. Maybe we'll get pixie dust this year and be granted a view with the bunkbeds. We're checking in super early to better our odds.

but I keep hearing renovations only on 5th and 6th floor. (Of course I know they do it gradually...) Did they redo the 7th floor when they made over the CL? I would assume they must have done it already, but I've learned to never assume...

We'd love to stay concierge, but if the rooms there haven't been redone, I'd go with 5th or 6th floor.

Love this thread!!

Heidi

Originally the work was to start with Concierge but the schedule was changed, while I was at first surprised after I thought about it it made since.

Last year during the same time period the 7th floor was undergoing the building and refurbishing on the new Club Level Lounge. As most guest that stay at Wilderness Lodge are repeat customers and have the tendency to take vacation the same time each year, this would interrupt Concierge at the same time two years in a row. (This maybe the reason) :confused3

I know that the 7th floor furnishings were to be more upscale then the rest of the Lodge, so it's possable the final decisions on the new furniture, fabric ect haven't been made yet.

The 6th & 5th floors are the starting points, after the wings are complete (4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st floors) they will be moving toward the Lobby. It's not just the 6th & 5th floor that will be refurbished.

The total work for each section is estamated to take approximately on week. This sounds like they are planning on getting in and getting it done. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I would love for the Concierge Club Level to be completed by my June stay, but I wouldn't change because the refurbishment hadn't been done yet. The existing rooms still look good plus the new lounge is now complete.

I just noticed your trip is scheduled for November 2007, all the work will be completed by your stay.

Beckie

My DH and I spent a long weekend in February up at the Club Level. We thought it was just beautiful. There was nothing "worn" about our room. In fact, I kept saying how clean and "new" it felt. It even smelled good. :thumbsup2

We looked forward to coming back to the room and just relaxing.

Regarding the renovations, just like Beckie said, the WL is trying to do them very quickly as not to disturb any vacationers. They want to have all furniture and accessories that were ordered "in hand" so that they can get it done quickly! The Club Level is going to take longer because of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Suites being on that floor. That's why they are going to be last. While we were there, they were fixing the tile on the balconies in the Vice Presidential Suite. As always, things can change and schedules can change. We will see what comes. :wizard:

Just can't wait to go back!! :sunny:

...but, anybody know how Ericka's doin'....:scratchin ???

Kimmar

Haven't seen Ericka on the boards lately but with less than 2 weeks to go before the BIG DAY, I guess she's kinda busy. Miss Ava Kristina is getting ready for her much awaited debut.

Ericka if you are just lurking let us know how you're doing.

I had hoped for a 5th or 6th floor courtyard view again this June. I don't understand the North/South things (always been directionally impaired), so if you are standing outside the lobby, facing the pool/lake/geyser - my room last June was on my right

(Our view from room 6121)
Is this the "side" they are working on in June? I just don't want to request something knowing it won't be available.....

Going by your description, Room # and room view, your room was located on the South side of the main building, your balcony should have had the railings and not the solid domer style that the rooms on the 6th floor South Wings have.

I didn't post the information on the refurbishment to make anyone worry about not receiving their room request on their upcoming trips. So please just be patient, by June you may be assigned a room that has already been completed or they will give you another room just as nice as the original room you stayed in.

I would suggest you keep your request as 5th or 6h floor Inner Courtyard, if you enjoyed staying of the South side of the Lodge add that too, all the rooms in your requested area will not be out of service while you are there.

For all the incredibly helpful info. Granted we are not going for a long time, but I had no idea they would do the work so quickly. Then again, time=money, especially at Disney. Now as long as the prices don't go up too much after all the renovations.

I know this has been asked elsewhere, but here it is again--

If I book at the 500 day mark, those are the rates, right? I know they will honor discount codes, etc. (not that I expect any for Thanksgiving really), but they can't raise the price, can they? I know they can go up quite random amounts from one year to the next. When the 2007 rates are posted, do those ever change? Or are they set for the year as the rack rates, regardless of when you book?

Thanks so much!

Heidi

Heidi

Once the prices are posted for 2007 they are locked in until December 31, 2007. The rates are usually posted sometime in the summer the year before.

In 2006 Disney did have a substantial increase at all their Resorts so next year rack rates shouldn't change much.
BUT YA NEVER KNOW :confused3
