Great review of the Thread.

1. Standard Views = overlooking service area parking lot.
Some Standard Room Views look out to roof peaks.

2. Woodsview/Courtyard views are "upgrades" = charge more... Woodsviews may get a view of the fireworks... courtyard peaceful views...
Correct ::yes::

3. Buses run to MK now, but not TTC...
After the Magic Kingdom clears for the night, the original route that use to go to TTC will resume.

4. Boat to MK can take anywhere from 10 min to 45 min (from what I was reading the 45min rides occur when you are in a rotation (not sure if its counter-clockwise) that is to say, you are not a direct boat ride from WL to MK, there are stops... and the first boat to MK on an emh morning is 7:20 getting you to MK before 8am...
The 45 min would be worst case, (i.e.) If you just missed the Wilderness Lodge Green Flag Boat and had to wait 20 min before the next boat arrived.

5. Smoking rooms are on the 6th floor - does that mean all other floors are non smoking?
Only half of the North Wing is Smoking Optional, appx 16 Woods View and 14 Courtyard Views. All other floors are non-smoking.

6. Some rooms over the Whispering Canyon Cafe can hear the noise from said dining (???)
Some guest have posted saying that they did hear the noise from WCC, I have stayed in several Lobby rooms and after the room door was closed I wasn't able to hear any outside noise. :confused3

7. WL has beautiful theming, is a magical place, wonderful adventures.
Correct ::yes::

8. You can call 180 in advance to reserve the Cubs Den and it cost $10 per hour from 4-midnight including a meal...
Correct ::yes::

I forgot one more question - Pool Slide...
How does it compare to the slide at AKL?

I have never actually been down either, but my nephews have they enjoyed both, they are very simular.

oh, and I remember posts in the long forgotten past on how it was difficult to get chairs during the summer because people would "save" chairs early in the am... does this occur, or even if it does, its no big deal (which is what I'm thinking, I dont have a problem either way)
At the Lodge it's more like...a family of four goes to the pool each person picks up a towel, walks over to a chair then lays down the towel on four chairs...The Mom sits down while everyone else jumps in the pool never to return to the chair until time to go. I just asked if anyone was using the chair before moving the towel, or just move to another location.

WL vs AKL vs Beach Club.... anyone know the winning lottery numbers???
Humm... :scratchin Not a Loser in the group, all three are great resorts, have a MAGICAL TRIP whichever you chose.

We are staying in a woodsview room in March, this is our first time staying at the lodge, can anyone give me suggestions on room numbers I should ask for at check in. I would like to have a view of MK/fireworks.

Should I ask for specific room numbers or should I just ask for a MK view? Please help!!

TIA

Thanks you two...I try to help when I can...Kimmy sorry about the game. Good Luck to you both on the Tax Returns.

Asking for specific room #'s isn't normally done. So when I have a Woods View booked I request North Wing, 5th floor, near the elevator, overlooking the otter pond. The best woods view rooms non-smoking are 5034, then 5032, 5030, 5028 the futher down the hallway you go decreases the chances of a good fireworks view. If you are requesting a smoking optional room then they would be 6034, 6032, 6030 ect. But keep in mind each year the trees grow and views can change or become obstructed. Hope you get a GREAT VIEW.

Hopefully I did not miss this but here goes...

Staying at the WL in April already booked with courtyard views, what room to recommend and why?

Would like nice scenic view but want more than just looking at pool? Any better than other/ The geyser etc. What is everyone's thoughts? Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

Oh, you are GREAT!! I will keep this in mind. I didn't want to ask for specific room numbers, but I didn't really know what to ask for. I was thinking of the 5th floor, from what I have read, I see that is a good floor for the view. Thanks!!

So I will request North wing, 5th floor, overlooking the otter pond!!

Thank you so much!

Superbird,

In Majestic's signature he has a link to the Wilderness Lodge Photo Gallery, by clicking on the link below then choosing the album titled Wilderness Lodge Balcony Views View Guestbook. You will be able to see some of the views from around the lodge. As you'll see the Courtyard Views are all more then just the pool.

My favorite Courtyard View is 4th floor Lobby room. (Bear Face Room)

Can't wait until you have your plans finalized. Hope to be able to actually visit in person this trip instead of telephone tag.

Hi folks, we're heading to Fort Wilderness for the Hoop Dee Doo during our stay, what's the best way to get there from WL?

after 3:00pm you can take either the blue or green flag boat to FW...which ever comes first.

Kimmar , sorry to talk to you under these circumstances. As you asked we have been praying; all of my young kids at school send their prayers too.
They want you to tell to those families that ...they have been very good today and have "offered" to our Lord all of their efforts in behaving properly:as they said (I'll try to translate ) God will listen to our prayers, if we can understand a bit more how life is our chance to become better persons.
Keep us posted , please.

WE might be BACK at our WL this August !!!!!!
DGH and I are still :cloud9: and starting our (more detailed) planning !!!

Most likely we could stay at WL 11 nights ... that is if we can get a good AP discount !!!
:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

As Beckie suggested we'll try to book as soon as we are sure about our dates;
one question is
:rolleyes: if we change our reservation will we still be charged one night ?
:confused3 Second question : last year our TA told us Disney accepts reservations with AP discounts ONLY for 7 nights ; does anybody know if this is still correct ?
If so we will have to split our stay ... :confused3 7+4 nights ???
Can we have continuing reservations at WL ???

I hate packing and unpacking ... and WOULD LOVE to stay at WL in the SAME room for our whole staying.

Any suggestion / info will be of GREAT HELP in planning !!!!

CIAO to all our "old" and new friends here ,

...Thank you to you and your students....
NEW update:

Kidney, was NOT removed yet; drs. are still trying to see whether it is salvagable....however, he did have a ruptured spleen and broken pelvis...once he is stabilized for at least 24 hours with no other complications, they will arrange to have Richie transferred to Hackensack Medical Center....His face, neck and arms are all swollen and he is HEAVILY sedated on meds....although he is still critical and is in ICU, his mother wanted for his friends to see him, 2 at a time VERY BRIEFLY, to bring home the message: THIS IS WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU FROM MAKING BAD CHOICES!!! (apparently, there seems to be some involvement of illegal substances... )

You may reserve for 10 days with a AP rate, I just went to the WDW site and put 10 days is and it came back with the booking charge. So all you need is one reservation for 10 days then a second reservation for one night. You can have both reservations at the same resort and the resort can link them so you will in all probability not have to move to another room...You will have to have new room keys for the one night. Which should only require a quick visit to the Front Desk. Since both you and DGH have valid AP's if you some reason they might say that Marco couldn't make another reservation for the one night all you have to do is book the one night in your name... :earsboy: You can still link the two reservations.

Your TA should be able to go ahead and book your room (with the 5-day cancelation rule) then when the AP rates become available they should be able to call and have the discount added to your reservations....BUT you really have to make sure they can or will do this for you...I have always done my own booking so not sure about the TA.

If you don't want to use a TA I maybe able to help and make the reservations. :confused3

Oh by the way, since I have the information a Standard View room at the Lodge during Peak Season is $185.10 so I think that appx rate I posted yesterday should be close.
