We are in 6119 not far from there. :)

Glad you enjoyed the lodge. We are still there. Not looking forward to checking out Sunday.

Tomorrow we have second day at Epcot and F&W (Uhhh....can you say YUM!!???) then at night we do MNSSHP.

Saturday we do Party for the Senses at Epcot with some special friends. Can't say who though. :)

Also, have a nice review of dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Upstairs then LaNouba that I will be working on when I get home.

Will post again on Friday.

FloridaFam, as far as I have been told, no rooms have been rehabbed yet. That is scheduled for next year. THe 7th floor did get a brand new lounge area for the food servings and all new furniture and carpets around the balcony overlooking the lobby. There are also 2 50+ inch plazma TVs. One for adults close to the crow's nest (flag family entrance) and one for kids on the opposite side of the balcony closer to the lounge.

I will have lots of pics for yas. :)

Thanks guys!! Leaving tomorrow and I guess on Sunday that we are taking the BUS! I can't wait! I am looking forward to seeing and feeling what y'all are always talking about.

;)

Fred...glad to hear you are having a good time. Look forward to seeing your pics.

I can't believe I will be leaving for the the lodge in a month. We are going for 8 nights starting 11/5 :cool1: Thought it would be another year or two before we would be able to afford going back.

My daughters are 7 & 9. Since this will be their second time they are looking forward to going even more.

tinkerrn,

Congratulations on your marriage and honeymoon!!! WL is so easy to fall in love with. I am so happy that the both of you enjoyed your stay there.

:wave2:

I just have to say wahhhhhhhhhhhhh! :sad1:

This was our 5th stay at the Lodge and we loved it... but that's no surprise - we love it every time!

I think I saw Fred (Majestic) waiting for dinner at Boma and then he went off to Jiko but before I could get myself sure - he was gone..

What a great time - DS got so brave - there were so many more rides he was willing to do this time - we were there in January and between now and then he's added BTMRR, SM and RRC - sniff - my 6 year old is a roller coaster maniac (just like his mommy)!

I wonder when I can plan that next trip.....

Sorry to ask such a boring, mundane question, but can anyone tell me what hours is the laundry at WL open?

I don't remember there being any particular hours. I think it's always open. Just fyi that there are just 5 or 6 washers and about 10-12 or so dryers...

I have a question. Does anyone have pictures of the guest rooms on the 7th floor? Or any pictures of the new concierge lounge? We leave in 2.5 weeks!!

Thanks!
Lisa

Guest rooms on the 7th floor are the same as any other room. Carpet in the halls is different.

I just got back from there on Sunday and have a LOT of new pictures.

Howdy --

Counting the days until our first WL stay in early Dec. Here's my question:

We are morning people, and have made some VERY early ARs for breakfast -- 7 a.m. at Chef Mickeys, 8 a.m. at Breakfastosaurus and Crystal Palace, 7:30 a.m. for Kona Cafe. Do you think there is ANY way to use Disney transportation -- esp. for the 7 and 7:30 a.m.s, or should we be sensible and just jump in taxi cabs? I suspect that the boat to the Contemp. won't be up and running by 7 a.m. My DH is not happy at the prospect of spending a lot of $$ on cabs, but I think that unless I push back our seating times, we'll be stuck. Advice?

Thanks for the pictures Fred! I really appreciate it!

By the way, I noticed that you stayed on the 6th floor but had concierge access. Can you book any room in the hotel but have access to the concierge level? Do you just pay an extra fee? I did not realize when booking our trip that this was an option. I knew I should have visited this board pre-booking. LOL

Nice pictures! Thanks for sharing!

To give you an idea of cost.... DH, DS and I had dinner at Boma in the AKL last Monday (10/3) and when we were done we were just too tired to deal with the busses back to the WL - we'd never used cabs on Disney property before and had no idea how much it would cost. it came to less than $20 with the tip - and while that isn't "cheap" it saved us probably an hour - maybe more and my time was worth it - at least late at night after a full day in the parks and a HUGE dinner

I wouldn't hesitate to do it again in the right situation - not all the time - but certainly on early mornings or late evenings.

Thank you so much -- this is a huge help. I know I'd always rather go for the option that keeps everyone sane, and it's great to know that WL to Ak was under $20. I think I'm just going to go ahead and plan for cabs for these mornings -- my sense is that there is never a problem getting a cab while on property.

are microwaves available for guest use?
Not that I am aware of. At least not for regular rooms.

The pres and v.pres suites have them.

I am pretty sure there is a microwave at Roaring Forks that you could probably use.

You cannot have a microwave in your room, but there are several down in Roaring Forks you can use.
I know because I had my boys go down one night and pop us some popcorn for a snack :flower:

Hi bleeps

The small boat that runs to the CR starts running at 7am. So I would probably count on a cab for the Chef Mickey's morning.
But you should be fine for your other two breakfasts. To play it safe you could bump your Kona Cafe breakfast up to 7:45. That way your sure to get there, and even if you check in at the podeum early, chances are you will be seated swiftly anyway.

Most of all, don't panic. If your running a few minutes behind, you can still check in for a ADR. And again, chances are, you will be seated swiftly.

Hope you have a magical :wizard: vacation!!!

Thank you -- it would be great if we could save the cab fare when we can!

If you have a chance, could you give me your advice re: Kona -- I do know the walking distances, etc., that are involved -- would you take the boat to CR, walk to monorail, and ride to Poly? Or, assuming they are still running buses from WL directly to MK, would you bus it to MK and monorail to Poly from there?

I know it's bus only to AK, and then of course boat to MK for Crystal Palace....

Thanks for reminding me what I OFTEN forget -- it's really OK to be a couple of minutes late. Given how early we're eating, I realize that I don't even really need the Kona ADR -- but I just get so carried away with planning AND with my Mary-Poppins urge to be "practically perfect in every way" (doesn't that mean always being on time?).
