Hey MTW fellow Hokie here!!! We are having one heck of a season so far!!! GO HOKIES!!! :cheer2:

I agree with Amy, the studio's do seem darker in the photo's. All the rooms, rather at the Lodge or the Villas have the dark Mission Style furniture and the decore is more toward darker fall colors. (hunter green, cinnamon) The style is more warm and cozy, then bright and sunshiny.

About the 7 month window... :scratchin
Even a year ago I might say you would be OK, but because of all the resent sales over at SSR and new members wanting to try out the other DVC Resorts I'm just not sure if your OKW Member will be able to secure your reservations at VWL.

October is one of the most popular times for members to visit due to lower points, great weather, MNSSHP and the International Food and Wine Festival.

Another option that may give you better odds would be renting from a VWL Member and book at 8 months. This would give you more time to decide, but would be before the 7 month window when other members could book.

Thanks to DiznEeyore and Beckie regarding the villas interiors. I wondered as I had heard great things about VWL, but just was not impressed with what I had seen online.

This particular person that I was working with I have pretty much said that I would rent his points (got a little excited) although he knows that I am interested in staying somewhere other than OKW. I just wouldn't feel right backing out now....somethings aren't worth sacrificing my word. If we end up at SSR (our second choice) or some other villas it won't be the end of the world. Just another reason to plan the next trip! He seemed very insitant that I get him my request prior to the 7 month window so that I could get my first choice. How does that work? I read something about booking day to day? And I'm hoping that the F&W festival brings people to want to stay at the BCV or BWV rather than VWL. Can you tell I spend way to much time thinking about this considering it's over 12 months away!

Ergens2,

Can you guess why I can't plan my 2006 fall trip until next Feb (hint: when the official schedule comes out!). We are season ticket holders and I have a feeling that my husband would refuse to go to WDW! We actually missed a home game in 2001 when we got married and I know I will never live that down!

Yeah, they look pretty good so far. The game on Sat wasn't that great but the score looks good. The NC State win was the most impressive. We'll see what happens this weekend w/GA Tech. I'm going to miss that game b/c I have a bachelorette party for that day - didn't they know it was a HOME game? Anyway, I'm off to listen to the coaches' show and see what Frankie has to say about the Ohio and GT game. Hopefully they will go all the way and TX or USC will lose between now and the end of the season. DH has promised that we will go to the Rose Bowl for the National Championship if they go!

I understand about the Member you have worked with, trust is #1 when renting points from someone.

The reason they are requesting the dates you want as early as possable, could be just that, they may and try booking day-by-day to secure your reservation. As each day becomes 11 months out they can book that day for the villa...If not they would have to wait until the last day of your trip then try for the reservation.

You are correct about the Boardwalk and Becah Club Villas being the most popular during food and wine. I know Members that couldn't get either and have been wait-listed for months. That is another option you can try if they can't book VWL at 7 months ask them to place you on the wait-list then they will automatically book the Lodge for you if anything becomes available. I have stayed in all the DVC Resorts except SSR (next year I hope) have enjoyed them all.

To those that have been to the WL recently...does anyone know how much time before MK opens do the buses start running? I may go with the buses instead of the boat this trip.

Just got back from our honeymoon and our stay at WL in one of the honeymoon suites was amazing. It was just two short nights att he start of our trip but we will be going back for sure. The staff was amazing but the resort was very empty, which was nice. I can say that we are WL lovers now.

Subscribing to this thread.

We'll be there December 17-20 in a concierge room, and trying the Villas for 2 nights December 20-23.

We can't wait!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Loved the Video, Makes me want to be at the Lodge now...Tell (DGH) he did good.

Ergens2,

While I haven't stay concierge yet with the new lounge, I have seen the new area that they built for food service, there is pleanty of room for the function it was designed for...The Wilderness Lodge originally built the 7th floor for guest on their honeymoons, it was ment to be quiet, private & secluded.

The popularity of concierge has made the resort add to this area, I believe they have done a wonderful job. Does it compare with other resorts where a large concierge area was planned from the conception? :confused3 (Not sure, I have never stayed at CL at any other resort.) But others have and I love reading their reports.

There again the price difference must be included. A Concierge room during value season @ AKL, BC, BWI, & YC all start at $435.00 a night. You also have Poly @ $410.0, GF @ $460.00 CR $405.00 a night for a tower room and $495.00 a night for a 14th floor room. The Wilderness Lodge concierge rooms start at $360.00, that's a price difference of anywhere from $45.00 to $130.00 a night.

I feel the quality of the hot food that is offered is excellent, it is prepared by the staff at Artist Point. The other basic items are the same items that are offered at everyother Concierge on property, With items added to each that reflect the Resorts theming. ( ie Zebra Domes @ AKL)

The staff of CM's at Wilderness Lodge are outstanding.

I will say that while staying at Wilderness Lodge Concierge, I fell I have the entire Lobby and Bay Lake to view and enjoy. So it never seemed small to me.
If you decide to stay CL during your next stay please report back so we will know if you enjoyed the new areas.

HAVE A GREAT TRIP and remember...
WHILE AT THE LODGE, PAT THE BEAR'S NOSE SO THE MAGIC CAN BEGIN.

We always just  LOVED the WL, and now we have become addicted to the 7th floor of the WL, but with your break down of the numbers, I see we made a great choice. Thanks for all the great information. :cheer2:

While I'm not sure exactly when the buses start running from WL to Magic Kngdom I'm thinking 7:00am-7:30am not 100% sure though. I do know it's before the Green Flag Boats start running.

Beckie,

Thank you. I was hoping that was the answer. I remember when we were there 2 years ago. We caught the first green flag boat to MK that morning. It didn't get us to MK until the opening ceremonies had already started. I want to make sure my kids see the whole thing this time :)

What about the blue flag boat? Does that run early? If so, I would guess that you could take the shuttle boat to the CR then walk over to the MK???

Hey Fred,

Thanks. I thought of taking the blue flag boat because it does run earlier than the green flag one. My problem is my 7 year old only has so much walking in her in one day :) I don't want to use it all up walking from the Contemporary to the entrance of MK :earsboy: She will start complaining that its too far to walk before we even leave the boat dock :rotfl2:

bump. Just wanting to keep this thread on the 1st page. I'm trying to make it through all the posts, and I'm on page 40 right now.

Hi,

After trying for a few months we were able to upgrade from CSR to WL!! :cheer2

I realized a few hours later that I forgot to add a room request to my ressie so I called back and requested a 5th Fl MK view room but I'm not sure this is correct.

Can anyone tell me what their favorite standard view room is?

Does my room request make sense?

Thanks for your help

Bump again, I'm still reading through all the messages. I'm on about page 50 or so, and dreaming to stay at the WL sometime with my family. If the staff at the WL is half as nice as this group seems to be, it sounds like we'll have a wonderful time!

bumpity bump just to say i am finally doing flag family tomorrow....and its our last day...yippiieee
