Can someone tell me about the laundry room?
Is it usually crowded in the afternoon? We have had to wait for machines at POFQ before, but not at the Dolphin. I'm wondering how WL compares. Where is the laundry located? And what are the prices. I'll be bringing my own soap. I'd like to do our washing while DD is resting in the midafternoons, but wondering if after dinner is a slower time.

I was wondering the same myself. but I was wondering if anyone also knows how much the detergent is and is it Tide? Do they have coin machines in the laundry room? How much does a load cost to wash? dry?

A question: If we're on the first floor, do those rooms have patios instead of balconies? And if so, do they still have chairs? Is wandering around to look at ponds etc. allowed? I am looking forward to having my morning coffee outside, and being able to amble around the grounds, and leaving the paths. Just wondering if that's "taboo".

The laundry room is down by roaring forks. It is small and it was very crowded when we went. (I washed clothes around midnight hoping to avoid the crowds (NOT). There were only about 6 or 7 washing machines and about 10 dryers. The dryers were not efficient but I hear this is the case everywhere. I can't remember how much the washers were, I think $2.00. I had my own laundry detergent. I just scooped my powdered tide into a zip-lock bag, included the scoop and packed it in my suitcase, checked bag of course. I also packed a small box of dryer sheets. Even though it took a while to finish the laundry (we were there for 10 days and had water park & more tickets so we changed our clothes a lot!!!) I did meet a few nice fellow lodgers while doing laundry.

Yes, the first floor room have patios with chairs. Our room last year was just to the right of the pond. You could easily walk to it. We didn't, but don't know why you could not. We had quite a few visits from ducks and saw some rabbits. It was definately quiet, very relaxing. I always was up before everyone else and would sit out there.

Woo hoo! Now that we have a woods view booked instead of a standard, I'd really like being able to do this. I'm a morning person, and this sounds like an ideal way to spend my morning.

So we've been "forced" to upgrade to a courtyard-view to use a discount code. Before I was content to just take my woods view and leave the rest up to the booking fairies. Now I'm thinking I would like a REAL courtyard views. Are the bunk-bed rooms coralled in one area together or are they spread throughout the resort? If they are spread throughout does anyone have any recommendations on what I might request for a nice location? Thanks.

I was thinking of staying at the wilderness lodge with a 6 year old on our next trip and was wondering what kind of children's activities that they have at the resort. I would also like to know about the cub's den and how much it costs per hour to leave a child there. And what kind of stuff they have for the children there.

I was thinking of staying at the wilderness lodge with a 6 year old on our next trip and was wondering what kind of children's activities that they have at the resort. I would also like to know about the cub's den and how much it costs per hour to leave a child there. And what kind of stuff they have for the children there.

We left our kids 2 times at the Cub's den, the first time was for one hour as a dry run to see if they would like it, (they did) and the second time was for 3-4 hours while DH and I went to YSH.

The den was on the smaller side, it had computers, video library w/ huge screen, and the kids can pick the movie. The CM's were Fantastic. Its $10 an hour per kid, that includes dinner too.

They open I believe at 4p, I wish they were open earlier. I would love an hour or 2 at the pool to just sit and read my book. Oh well.

I know this is a WL thread, but I've heard the Peter Pan club at the Poly just blows the Cubs den away.

Here's my recommendation, but I don't know how feasible it is. Add a day to the front end of your trip or the back end of your trip, stay at the Marriott Residence Inn Seaworld (fantastic hotel) and you can walk to Discovery Cove, I know this brings in a whole other mess of problems, like now you can't use ME. How would you get from Residence Inn to WDW or the other way around. BUT, my feeling is, is that once I'm in THE WORLD, I dont ever ever want to leave it.

About 3 years ago, I left the world (just out side DTD to get some gas for the rent a car), and even though I was only a block outside of it, I describe the feeling to others as something like picturing June Cleaver leaving the comfort of her perfect 50's world and being hurled into the future of a crazy punk rock world. We are planning on staying at WL in 2009 - I know it seems a long time away but I have been thinking a lot about Disney as the weather gets cooler here in MN Anyway, DH and I have been discussing when to go. We have gone down over spring break but are thinking about Christmas at WL in 2009. I would love to hear comments from people who have been there over Christmas, especially with little kids, to hear what you like/dislike about it and what makes the WL so special during the holidays. TIA!

I booked a ctyd room when the visa codes opened (we were torn btwn returning to WL or trying CSR but there were only king beds room available there). We had wanted a CL room but there were non available. I called every day and they only thing they had was the honeymoon suite. Don't think the kids would appreciate that! But this morning I checked the website and they opened the CL rooms for discount packages so we got our ressie switched (and dropped the DDP). It's been a few years since we've been to the Lodge so we're really excited to go back!

We'll be at the Lodge 1/19- 1/24.
