You can check in on-line with SW and get the "A" and not print out the boarding passes. When you get to the airport they will print a set for you. We do this all the time when traveling.

Thanks for all the options :thumbsup2

This is my first trip with SW, so thanks for the info about not having to print out the boarding pass.

I've heard there are life vests at the pools that kids can wear if they are not good swimmers. Is this true? How small do they go? DD wears one all the time when she swims (she is almost 4) that we have. I can bring it but it would be nice to know if there are plenty at the pool then I won't bother bringing it.

Thanks :thumbsup2

There are life vest out by the marina. They have extra smalls, so I'm sure DD will be fine. When you go get your vest, check it out for length of stay. This way you don't have to return it every day, you can just take it up to your room with you. Saves alot of time.

Hi all,

Just back from a WL stay 10-13 thru 10-20. My first trip to disney in 21yrs...I was 6yo last time. I originally booked a standard view room but was able to upgrade to courtyard with bunkbeds using the discount code in september. The only request that I made was for an upper floor. My boyfriend had told me that he would really prefer to actually face the courtyard as opposed to the villas and wanted me to request it at check in...but when we got there a room was not ready and I didn't make the request. He was sorta bummed but we decided to leave it up to the room gods.

Wow was that the right move! We were in room 4079 which I believe is one of the bear face rooms I have read about. We got off the elevator and barely walked around the corner and there our room was! The door was right at the corner of the railing looking down into the lobby. From our balcony we had a view of everything...the stream flowing from the lobby down to the pool, we could see the pool and geyser and got to watch the water parade from the balcony too. Oh and our first night there I found out why the view was so important to him...he proposed to me on the balcony!:lovestruc Now WL will always be an extra special place for us.

Below are a few photos of our room location and view. The only problems we had with the lodge were the spiders and the sheets. The balcony railing was loaded with spiders at night. It seemed the lodge in general was overridden with spiders. I saw their thick webs with what looked like egg sacks all over the place on the exterior. Eww. None were inside though. The other thing was the sheets on the bed. They were too small to stay tucked in. By morning the bed was completely disassembled.

The lobby as you enter thru the main doorway. Sorry it's so dark. Along the right hand edge you can see the green glow of the EXIT signs. Our door is next to the bottom one.

We stayed in this exact room over Mother's Day weekend! Loved it.

I totally agree with you about the spiders! They were gross!

I just got back from a trip to WL so maybe I can help. The only parking that is not valet is in front of the check in area. If you have your back to the check in area, public parking is to the right. There are only 5-6 rows for this. The valet parking is to the left of that. There is another large parking lot to the right (again back to the check in area) of the public parking area, but it is reserved for service vehicles and cast members only. The times that we did use our vehicle, we didn't have any trouble finding a parking space back at the lodge, however, several times, we did have to park way down the lot. We noticed that several of the vehicles that had parking spaces the closest to the lodge didn't seem to move at all. Looks like they drove down to Disney then used Disney transportation :sad2:

I don't think this is right to say either. We live south of Jacksonville and drive down. So because for a day or two that we may use Disney transportation we are supposed to move our car around? :sad2: to you.

Congratulations on getting engaged. I am happy to hear you had a wonderful trip.

About the spiders...I hear they imported extra spiders to go with the Halloween atmosphere. :rotfl2:

1 week left till our trip. Yippeee :cheer2:

Thanks for the tip about checking it out for length of stay. I'm sure we will spend time in the pool so that will be great.

Not only do you have great taste in Lodging, You have Fantastic taste in men....uh.. uh.. I mean MUSIC!!!!

You're gonna love the LODGE!!

15 days until we leave, 2 weeks from tomorrow! 16 days until WL. WOOOHOOO!!!! I am freaking. We are leaving on the 9th and are due at WL on the 10th. We have got sooo much to do such as packing. It doesn't help that my girls (11 & 8) don't even know we are going. But it will be worth the look on their faces to not tell them.

Whoo hoo! In 7 days we'll be at WL!

This will be our 1st trip to VWL--I just got my last day off the waitlist tonight, so now we don't have to move in the middle of the trip. Yay! :)

Can't wait to get back to the Lodge. :)

I just had to share. :)

I know this has probably been sanswered a million times, but I can't possibly go through 500 pages right now! What is the best area/room to request for a standard room? I don't care so much about my view, but if there is a better one it would be nice.

Thank you!!
