With Standard View rooms you will either be assigned to the 4th, 5th or 6th floor.

STANDARD ROOMS: 2 Queen Beds.Located on Floors 4,5 & 6. On the North(MK) side, they face the service area. There are also 4th floor rooms that overlook the lobby and look out to roof peaks.

You will need to use the elevators for access to any of the rooms so I would request the 6th floor. This should put you high enough not to be effected by the service area, but possibly having a view of the Castle and Wishes fireworks. I know the great granddaughters would all love that.

I would plan on parking the ECV outside in the hallway, there are electrical outlets that you may use. This will give you more space in the room. (Just make sure he keeps the key to operate the ECV with him.)

Have a great trip

I did take a look at the info on the Old Faithful Club on page 1 of this thread, but was wondering if anyone has been their recently with any recent info. I also see their is wine and cheese selections, is beer available?

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

I'm so glad you were able to book the room you wanted, I thought they may not have released all the rooms for booking yet but ya never know. :confused3

The Club Level does have several beers that are offered for guest over 21 years of age.

Several of us WL Vets will be visiting the Lodge in a few days, we'll be sure to update any offerings that are now available.

Just updating the list as it has been awhile. If anyone else will be visiting please send me a PM we don't want this FAQ thread to be a Countdown Thread. -502

Ref: Your thread about Concierge Level Etiquette

I didn't want to post on that thread because of the drama.

I have never had any problem taking anything back to my room to consume this includes wine or beer. Your room won't be as convenient as the rooms located on the 7th floor. If you would like to take a few items back to your room to have later or even the next morning please do. This isn't free food you have paid for it please don't let others and their opinions effect your stay or dictate what you do.

If you are worried just ask one of the concierge cast members.

Remember there will be a small tray located in your room that your ice bucket is on, just take this with you if you need a little extra help bring the items back to your room.

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the reply- I sort of knew the question wouldn't go too smoothly. I only thought "you never know unless you ask"!!

I know this has been asked and I have tried to search. the search engine is down. Is there any view of the fireworks from any of the courtyard bunk rooms?

Boy, it has been TOO LONG since I've posted on this all-time-fave thread of mine. Hi, Beckie and all the rest of you wonderful WL vets and WL lovers! It's so much fun to see "my" room number map still getting lots of use:goodvibes

We're on our way Friday for a too-short-but-lots-better than-nothing 4 night stay with Humphrey and company...our 1st fall visit to WDW and 1st chance to enjoy the Food & Wine Festivalpopcorn::

So, Ronald Duck the map-man has a couple of room questions that I'm hoping Beckie or another vet can answer:confused3 :

When I booked about 6 weeks ago, the only AP-discounted room available was Courtyard w/ Bunk Bed, which doesn't suit our needs (traveling with DW and grown DS) and is pricey even with the nice discount...but hey I was lucky to get anything at all at WL! A call-per-week since then failed to turn up anything else discounted...so now with 4 days to go, we have a room that many would covet but that we'd prefer not to have.

My questions are:

-What do you think the chances are that with a mid-afternoon arrival this Friday, we might be able to "trade down" for a regular Courtyard room with 2 queens?

-if we can get a regular Courtyard room at check-in, would the rate get discounted at that point?

-If we do get the Courtyard Bunk room we paid for after all, is there any way to predict where we might be? How many Courtyard Bunk rooms are there, and where are they located?

It's nice to be "home" on this thread...and it will be sensational to be "home" in just a few days!

I would plan on parking the ECV outside in the hallway, there are electrical outlets that you may use. This will give you more space in the room. (Just make sure he keeps the key to operate the ECV with him.)

This probably will not be allowed, as it will be considered a fire hazard and obstruction to public traffic in case of an emergency.:coffee:

I need advice from the people who have used AAA to book a room at the WL. When you use AAA, do you just pay a one night room deposit at the time you make the reservation, do you have to pay the entire bill before you arrive, is the whole bill due at time of booking? I also noticed that when I was looking at the AAA web site, they showed room description codes (STD, B2B, and CTV) what does this mean? Will using AAA, really save you money? Help Please!:confused3

Julie
Some of the rooms on the 5th or 6th floor at the far end of the South wing may offer a viewing of the tops of the higher fireworks from the balconies, but none offer a good view because the design of the Lodge.

Ronald Duck
My first thought was Enjoy your Bunk Beds...:rotfl2: My second thought was if you arrive early you may can drop the bunk beds if the Lodge isn't sold-out for the week-end. This would only be guessing.

The rate for the room, if they changed you :confused3 I don't have any idea.

The location is also a question mark did you make any request on your reservation? There are many Courtyard View Bunks now, additional Bunk Beds were added during the refurbishment because so many guest would request them.

So Ronald I guess I'm saying I have no idea what they will do. Please post when you return to let me know. I know you will have a great stay no matter were they put you.

Are you planning on using the POOL this trip?

Beckie

You may be correct, ::yes:: Yet I have seen others do this. I'll be at the Lodge in a few days and I'll try and ask a Manager. I don't see the ECV's being any more of an obstruction than the large cleaning carts that are located in the hallways most of the day. An Emergency can happen at any time day or night. :confused3

Beckie

(Yay!! I'm on page 500!)

I just booked a stay for me, my husband and our 12-year old at the Lodge.:cool1:

We were originally going to have a split stay, with 4 nights at the Lodge and then 4 nights at the Dolphin, but now we've booked 5 nights at the Lodge and only 3 at the Dolphin. Who knows, I may change it back to a 4-4 split!! :rolleyes1

So anyway, we're driving to our oldest daughter's home in Maryland on Jan. 31, staying overnight. Then leaving EARLY Feb. 1, driving straight down-should take about 13-14 hours, and arriving at the Wilderness Lodge in time for supper at the Whispering Canyon and a view of the water parade! :woohoo: We'll be there for 5 nights, checking out Feb. 6 and hopefully going to the Dolphin then! :cool1:

The thought behind the cleaning cart is that the Fire Marshall would see it as someone is on site to move it, where as the ECV is outside the room, door closed, and the owner nowhere in sight. Just a thought.:coffee:

LOL, that's exactly what I want to do on Thursday. I booked with a travel agent rate and that was all that was available, but since I'm a solo I really would rather have normal beds. I think it would have to do with what they think they'll need. It might be that a lot request the bunks and they would like to have one freed up. That's what I'm hoping. I'm already paid up, so I'm not trying to have any payment changes. But either way I'll be ok with it. It's not like I'd have to sleep in the bunk.

Have a good trip!
