The NEW WL FAQ (Part 5) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY! Part 2

Hey you two, I have questions :).

I was able to upgrade from Woods view to CYV with the general code for the 3 of the 4 nights of my WL stay. There was no CYV, WV at rack rate for the last night of my stay, so CM Wendy offered me a Honeymoon Suite CL for $427.50, only $50 dollars more for the total 4 nights than before  . So I took it :teeth:

Does a Honeymoon Suite automatically come with CL?
Is that a rack rate price?

I was so excited about getting a discount and being able to do Honeymoon Suite CL that I didn't even ask questions or make any requests for my CYV.

Hope you all had a good time on your recent trip!

Hi to all WL experts! I have never stayed at the WL before and am planning a surprise trip for the kids after xmas. Any must do's or tips would be great! Also we are staying CL-what kind of view or where will we generally be located? Thanks for all help/advice! Angel

Erika,

Wow, good for you. Yes, the Honeymoon Suite comes with CL!!

On Fred's site, he has pictures of it. There is a jacuzzi in there ;) They are very nice rooms. I would request a "Magic Kingdom" or North view.

Also, who know, being you have the room for the last night, maybe they will upgrade you on your whole visit. Wouldn't that be great! :woohoo:

Just returned tonight from the WL - stayed in room 6049 (courtyard view with bunks)! It was our first stay and I must say...I'm hooked! Everything was wonderful. Will post more in the morning! :thumbsup2

Freaking out about all the love bug posts. Unfortunately I hate bugs and I seem to have passed this trait to both my kids. I hope they will not be upset. I have seen the pictures and they look kind of "Big", even tho everyone says they are little and annoying. Can anyone who is at the WL or has been over the past couple of weeks tell me how bad they are around the resort, like on your balconies or at the pool. This is supposed to be a laid back trip with lots of down time at the pool and resort so hope WL is not terribly overrun with them. Hope at least that by the end of our trip they will be less.

Jacqueline

We just returned tonight. The love bugs were annoying, but they seem to have subsided a bit since last Saturday when we arrived. We did still see them today, but they are not as bad as they were.

Seriously, they are harmless. After you experience it for a day or so at it's peak - you won't even notice them!

Enjoy your trip. You will LOVE it!!!!

The Club's Den: Can you take the kids there in the daytime hours and supervise them yourself while they color or do crafts? I thought you could do that at some of the kid's clubs.

Are there specific hours for the "supervised" visits? I thought I read (possibly) on this thread that only during the afternoon hours could children stop in with a parent to play/make a craft.

Thanks!

I need some help from those who have been to WL. I currently have a standard view room booked for our Dec. trip and have a request for an upper floor facing north. I am hoping for a MK view! With a AAA discount I can get a courtyard view for only $54 more total for 3 nights. Are these rooms that much better? It will be just me and DH so we don't need to be near the pools or anything. In fact, we prefer a quiet location. TIA!

Good morning!

We just returned last night from the WL and we had a courtyard view. I would definately recommend it. We weren't near the pool area, we were closer to the main building (at my request). I thought it was very quiet and never had a problem with noise. Here is our view - this taken early one morning. You can't beat it, especially for only $54 more for your stay!

From page 1...
What activities are available at WL for children?
On select days Wilderness lodge has programs for children: Duck Races on Upper Silver Creek, Pool Games, Fireside Storytelling, (Meet in your pajamas at the Mercantile Fireplace) Beach Games, Penny Toss & Duck Rings.
(Daily 3-4 p.m. @ pool)
Daily Activities: Open Crafts and Games in Cub's Den (free) 2:30-4:00pm
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

*For good rainy day activities, ask for a Kid's activity/coloring book at the bell station or a list of Hidden Mickeys at Guest services. You can also get a list of the resort's music at the Mercantile shop.
Explore the resort:
Indian artifacts, historic paintings, and survey maps are displayed. Follow Silver Creek from it's indoor origin as a Hot Spring and onward outside as a bubbling brook and waterfall, eventually making it's way to Bay Lake.
Flag family:
Ask about becoming a Flag family. Each morning a family is selected to go on the Lodge roof to help raise the flag! This is popular, so inquire at check-in for a better chance.

Cub's Den:
Children's Entertainment Center
4:30p.m.-Midnight
Ages 4-12
$10.00 per hour
(Meal included)
Call WDW-DINE for reservations.

While the possible view of the castle is always a nice treat it's in no way equal or comparable to the Inner Courtyard View. $54.00 more is a great value for 3 days. The difference in a standard view and courtyard view is $55.00 a night. You may want to check with your agent too make sure the price is for all 3 days, and not per night. Whichever view you decide I'm sure you'll have a great trip.

Like Jeanne said yes ::yes:: the Honeymoon Suite is located on the 7th floor so you will have concierge. Lucky girl and while the price that was quoted does seem to be Rack Rate $380.00+tax it is Value Season so the price is still great. Wonder if they could add the general discount code on that for you? Did you ask? Call back and ask? The CM may have just been checking availability at that point and may have forgot to check the discount.

During Christmas I love the Courtyard View off the Lobby (Bear Face Rooms) so when you walk out the door you will have the view of the Christmas decorations & tree. The Honeymoon suits will have the lobby access.

Can't wait to see you in December, bring photo's of you know who. princess:

This is my story... We are booked Nov25-Dec2 07... We booked a standard room and I requested a lobby view because we want to be able to walk out of our room and enjoy the sights and sounds of the holidays. What do you think?

There are about 9 standard view rooms just above Check-In and Guest Services on the 4th floor. While you would have the great Lobby view right outside your door, the view from your balcony would be of the roof tops. :confused3

Click on the link below to see a basic floor plan of the rooms, while I would never request a specific room # (limits the room assigners) you could request 4th Floor South Lobby View. On the room lay-out the standard view lobby rooms would be 4091-4099.

I am so excited!!!! We hadn't planned on returning to WL and WDW until 2008, but we just decided that we can swing another trip in June, 2007 - I called and made the reservations today. Yay!!

What other outside views do standards have? I thought they were kinda yucky anyway, aren't they?
