Also, what does Bear Face mean? I am interested in a 4th floor room that opens at the lobby but we also have an interior courtyard view, and I keep seein a reference to Bear Face, so I was just curious?
I need a Bunk Bed, DD6 has medical condition. We also have an interior courtyard view. What rooms if any can anyone remember has bunkbeds and a courtyard view. I've got an idea of the area I would like, I think we would like the 4th floor, but if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Mary

First I'll answer the question about Bunk Beds while there are Inter Courtyard View rooms with Bunk Beds, you shouldn't request specific room #'s just a location, this limits the room-assigner. At check-in you may ask the Cast Member if there are more options available. The Bear Face rooms are Inner Courtyard rooms that are located off the Lobby. I have stayed in most of the rooms on the 4th floor in this area and all the rooms I have stayed in (Bear Face) have had two Qween beds.

Now for a visual explanation on Bear Face Rooms. You will need a little imagination.

In the photo below can you see a face of a bear?

The Courtyard rooms that are off the lobby form the face. Starting at the flags at the top of the Lodge look down until you see the two small triangular lighted gabled windows, these are the ears. The large triangular gable just below form the nose and mouth the two rectangle windows beside the large gable form the eyes.
(I personally use the two small lighted gabled windows as the eyes but others say they are the ears) :confused3

We had wanted to stay in one of these rooms, what would they be called? :confused3

Wilderness gal

I would call this connecting reservations.

While you maybe able to actually stay in the same room, you may have to move. At check in notify the Cast Member that you have conneting reservations and would like to remain in the same room.

You will have to physically go down to the front desk on the mornings of November 26th and December 2nd and go through the check-in process you will also receive new room keys for each reservation.

Is there anywhere at WL you can weigh your luggage for the trip home? Don't want to pay overweight charges!!!

While I was there in June I did notice the airport check-in table. Its located just to the right of the front door outside behind the Bellman/Valet Desk. I have no idea if they had any scales but you could check.

I've been told my room has been set aside and it's a woods view room. I've heard here that most of the roll in shower rooms face the DVC villas. I'm wondering if because I have a woods view does that mean I'm on the North wing? I'm trying to figure out how a DVC villa view could be considered a woods view or are all of the non courtyard rooms on the south wing just standard view rooms.

Bill

No just because you have a Woods View you won't necessarily be located in the North Wing. There are many Wood View Rooms located in the South Wings, the rooms on the south side of the Lodge until the next section of the extended wing are Woods view for referance check out this overview of room locations, just click on the link below:

Wilderness Lodge Room #'s and Locations

As you can see rooms many of the are Woods View. 2100,2102,2104,2106,2108,2110-3100.3102,3104 ect. are all Woods View rooms.

The Wilderness Lodge as had high-speed Internet Access for over a year now. The charge when we were last there in June was $9.95 per day/24 hour.

Excellent - thank you :)

Not like we'll have much time to get online anyway...but nice to know we can keep the business running by checking in every few days.

Thanks again MAGIC :)

It was kind of stange. I reposted the quesion right as you were posting the response. THe repost was just a heads up for those who might have missed it. Once my post came up I saw your response so I quickly edited my post to a thank you.

But once again. Thanks. :)

It was funny and I laughed, :teeth: I am very slow typing though. I try and go back through the post to see if any questions I can help with have been missed. May take me a little while as I'm planning my cruise in a few weeks.

This thing with no standard views available for next year has me wondering what's going on...I believe all the request have been made through TA...Wondering if they may all be packages? Or AAA discount request...Maybe they aren't offering standard rooms with the packages. :confused3 I have never heard of this happening before.

I booked my stay the day before free dining was released to the public(VISA card holder here) and I was told no standard view rooms were available with a roll in shower. So maybe there is something odd going on with the standard room views.

I just played around abit with the online booking and couldn't find any dates with a standard view available. Are they that limited or maybe they are trying to sell the higher priced views first and only releasing the standards after the higher are booked.

Edited to Add:

I just found a standard view quote. It's for Nov 15-18th. SO i guess some rooms are still out there.

Magic in Heart;

Thanks for the info; and yes you are absolutely correct. We booked our vacation in 2003 just like this; and yes each time we had to go down & re-register but we stayed in the same room.

I was just wondering what rooms those were in the picture?

Hi all, I was just reading about the Holiday :santa: Sleigh ride a few pages back and had a couple of questions.
1. Are these sleigh rides private?
2. Can you book them for 2006 yet? If not, when can they usually be booked?
3. Has anybody done them, and how are they?

Thanks guys!!

1.)Yes ::yes:: the rides are private just your family, there are limits to the number of guest, it is a small sleigh for 4 but I think they allow up to three childern with 2 adults not 100% sure.

2.) I haven't seen it posted that they are taking reservations yet, you could try calling late Septemeber or October that's usually when they anounce the rides.

3.) Yes ::yes:: It was great fun we took Hot Chocolate from Roaring Fork with us. They take you over to Ft. Wilderness and back.

I posted about the problem with no availability (Standard/Woods View) in February 2007 but I haven't been able to find anyone else with the problem. Yours is the first post that I've seen that mentions it. To answer your questions....No, I'm not booking a package. I made a room-only reservation. My TA with SWV says there aren't any AAA discounts for Feb. so she booked rack rate for now. She'll apply the AAA discount when it becomes available. I'm tempted to call Disney and check on this no-availability issue myself. I'm VERY curious as my 2 week hold period runs out on the 20th. I thought that surely the problem would be resolved within this time period and I wouldn't have to make a deposit on the Courtyard that she reserved instead. Keep us posted. I'll post back with information if I decide to call Disney myself.

Beckie~

I called them......I told the CM that I needed to check availability and he said that he couldn't do that because their computers were down. He said to call back in an hour.

I think I read somewhere that they were updating their computer system recently. :confused3 Maybe they haven't worked the kinks out yet and this is why there's an availability problem at the WL for February? :badpc: BTW, my TA tried to reserve that Woods View room on July 6th. She tried again on July 10th. You would think that they would have fixed whatever problem they were having by now. :sad2:

I'll try again.....in 1 hour.

Thanks magicinmyheart, I think that sounds great for my DBF and I, sorta secluded and romantic! I cannot wait to book it!
