One thing I did want to mention..I'm not sure it's all floors..but I know that many floors, if you go to the North wing..there are windows which face the MK, and you can stand there and watch Wishes at night :) That would help any of you that don't get a woodsview/north wing room, and really looked forward to seeing the fireworks from the Lodge (I know.. I know..not the same as from your room..but you can see them just the same :goodvibes ) For anyone that has recently been, how did you like the selections in Roaring Forks now? Have you tried the new soft serve ice cream machine? What flavors were they dispensing? Anything new in the Mercantile that caught your attention? Thanks! :goodvibes

Lisa,

We just got back from WL Friday night. I really don't like the new menu at Roaring Forks. The burgers and pizzas are pre-cooked and sitting under a heat lamp. No more hot dogs or nachos. No more Philly Cheese steak (which was so good). The ice cream machine had vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. I really liked the old place better. But its not the end of the world. Still love the Lodge.

Anyone know if the CL has a microwave we can use so we don't have to trek down to Roaring Forks?

If you want the shortest walk, I would request a Courtyard view near the main lobby, this would put you closest to the elevators and not down one of the wings. There is just one big building at the WL.. with a north and south wing, but everything is under one roof. The Villa's are seperate, but those are for DVC members. I'm not sure about if there is a specific "smoking" floor..but just request a non-smoking room. I've never had a problem with the transporation at the WL, but I know some have. It's much quicker to MK from the WL than it would be from CS. Plus, since I know walking is a problem for you, there would be much less walking at the WL than at CS...as CS is much more spread out and as I said before, WL is everything under one roof :)

Thanks for your help. I finally decided to go with WL. The possibility of a lot of walking at CSR changed my mind and the WL looks gorgeous. I can't wait to go! :cloud9: Should I call back now about my request for a courtyard view near the main lobby or should I just wait until the time gets closer to let them know? Thanks again.

You're welcome :) As soon as I know I want a particular request..I call and add it on..so go ahead and add it :)

sleepingbeautymama ~

Of all the MODs, I totally enjoyed CSR the best. However, we were in the Ranchos Section, and it was SOOOOO FAR from everything!! If you are in the Casitas, it's not too bad....personally, you can't go wrong with WL! :thumbsup2

I missed some of the former food too and was at a loss at some meals trying to find something to eat at Roaring Forks - wish there was a little more variety. The burgers were o.k. and the pizza was alright, but wish there was more. I wish they had cones for the soft serve yogurt/ice cream. I am a cone person myself.

I loved the new look of Roaring forks though, and the seating area seemed less crowded and had a few more tables. My DH said he is so glad he doesn't get feed through the mysterious hole in the wall anymore and can actually see peoples faces :rotfl: . I have to agree there!

:rotfl2: so true about the hole in the wall.

Do they cook anything to order at the new RF?

They seemed to be cooking the pizzas as you ordered them because it took 5 minutes every time. They would cook to order the hamburgers and fries as they ran out, which seemed to be frequent. They probably used to do this too but you just never knew it since we couldn't see what was going on ;)

I was reading the last few posts talking about CM's that weren't familiar with the resorts - I just called to add "North wing, Magic Kingdom view" to our CL requests, and the CM told me there were no King bed rooms in the WL! :rotfl2: I fibbed and told her yes, there are, because I've stayed in one, rather than explaining what the DIS was and why she was wrong!

First, I am new and this is my first post ever on the boards. We are planning for an awesome Disney adventure next summer around this time and my DH just loves the idea of staying at the WL. (I'm still trying to interpret all the abbreviations, but I think I am getting the hang of it).

My question is this: what is "Wishes" and how do you know when it's scheduled? I know you all love the inner courtyard rooms, but I LOVE the castle and I have to have a room looking toward MK or my life would be incomplete!

Also thanks for all the notes on Concierge Service - couldn't figure out what that was.

Wishes is the Disney firework show shown nightly at varying times. They post the schedule 6 months in advance for us to plan out now and depending on the room might be able to see it from there or at least be in the park when it is done. Enjoy

Anyone know the hours? Thanks!!!!!!!

I picked up a brochure the last time we were there. It says: Disney's Wilderness Lodge Sturdy Branches Fitness Center - 407-938-4222. Health Club Hours: 6am - 9pm Daily. **Hours subject to change without notice**

is there a fee to use the club? I was reading a trip report and it said they paid 15 bucks or something

dizneykid!

Thanks! Is that pretty recent? 6am would be IDEAL. Thanks so much!

Alicnwondrln,

I believe there is no longer a fee for WL and WL Villas guests.

This was very helpful!

thanks I would like to go there and use a tread mill in the mornings
or do some laps late late at night
