What time is the nightly campfire? Are there evening events at WL for the children? Sorry for asking so many questions but this will be our first time and I've been holding on to these questions for some time now.

They have a nightly story time located next to the fireplace in the Mercantile at the Lodge. There are game tables over at the Villas with chess and checkers.

The Sing-a-long, Campfire, Movie are seasonal following is the most up to date information available:

Effective March 11, 2007: Fire Lighting at 7:30, sing-a-long starts at 8pm

Effective March 11, 2007: Movies start at 8:40pm

When you check-in at the Lodge they should be able to give you the list of movies playing and the current start times.

Have Fun.

Thanks Beckie. While I have your ear, do you have to make ADR's at WC even if you are a resort guest? How is the food? I heard it was a lot like the Hoop/Rev food and fun!

Anyone have an further info on how the pool rehab is going, any photos so far?

Boysmom

Nbodyhome a DIS Board Member that visits WDW often should be visiting any day now she has said she will take new photo's of the pool area around the 15th or 16th so check back in a few days.

It really depends on when your visit is, a year ago I would say just wait, but not anymore you really need ADR's for most all the table service restaurants at WDW. I have had luck by arriving just as the WCC opens but I have had to eat at Roaring Fork because they didn't have an opening until 9:30pm. So I would try and make an ADR if possible.

Oops sorry...We love eating @ WCC good times are always had, the servers are a HOOT but no singing during diner like Hoop Dee Doo.

Okay guys, I'm making reservations before the week is out, and I need your help. Has anyone ever had a standard room opening to the lobby view, with the service area outside their balcony? I've only ever had a woods view, and a courtyard view, but my "boys" are saying they want lobby view, and I'm being told that there are no woods view rooms with a lobby view. So I'm all confused and don't want to look at roof peaks, but don't know what the service area will mean as far as noise, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!

There sure are! Rooms 4080 - 4090, 5080 - 5090, and 6080 - 6090, are nice woods view rooms overlooking the lobby, and rooms 3080 - 3090 are standard view rooms. These rooms are before the service area, so that won't be a problem.

It's great to hear from you, and your going back to the Lodge. :thumbsup2

To answer the first part of your question:
Has anyone ever had a standard room opening to the lobby view, with the service area outside their balcony?

Nope, the only standard view lobby rooms are located on the southside of the lobby over Check-in, on the 4th floor only. These do have the roof peak views.

The second part:
I'm being told that there are no woods view rooms with a lobby view.

There are in fact woods view lobby rooms, located on both the north and southside of the lobby. The woods view lobby rooms on the southside again over Check-in actually overlook roof peeks but are higher up then the standard rooms on the 4th floor, so you can see trees in the distance. The woods view lobby rooms on the northside of the lobby over WCC, are on floors 4, 5 and 6 (This is where two of the honeymoon suites are located on the 7th floor) they are considered woods view because of the landscaping outside of WCC. You may in fact see the service road and part of the Cast Members parking lot over toward the side. But you may have a great view of the Magic Kingdom and Wishes.

There are no rooms on the 3rd floor that overlook the lobby, nor are there any 3rd floor standard view on the northside due to the design of the lodge.

I have stayed on the 7th floor overlooking the service area which on the lower floors (4, 5 & 6) are the standard view rooms, being up on the higher floors you look more straight out, to see the smoke house you would have to look down. But it is there ::yes:: and trucks do make delivery's during the day. :confused3

As in all the rooms I have stayed in at the lodge, with the doors closed I have never been disturbed by external noise. I have added Ronald Duck’s layout of the room locations below. Just click on it and you will be reacquainted with the Lodge.

Ok business is now out of the way...When are coming to Florida, how long will you be visiting.

Wilderness Lodge Room #'s and Locations

Beckie,

You are really helping me out with the information about the Lodge. What do you know about the first floor rooms. We requested non-smoking for medical reasons. She put on our ressies "request 1st floor room" I don't know if she did this because she thought we needed wheel chair access which we do not. I don't want to deny someone who does the room but we do need non smoking for medical reasons. We do need a tub and not a wheel in shower and we do need separate beds for my DS whom I need constant access especially during the night. Are the 1st floor standard view rooms decent? Where do they back? The disney agent said something about a day bed or sofa in the room, is this true?

Thanks soooooooooo much.

My bad! There are no standard room on that part of the building. Somewhere on the board there are some pic's of rooms, and views on both sides of the lobby. They might help with your room choice.

Stepdisney
There are no standard view rooms located on the 1st floor. Actually the 1st floor rooms are one floor down from the Lobby via the elevators.

The Lobby, WCC, Territory's Lounge and Artist Point are all located on the 2nd floor. There are no 1st floor rooms off the Lobby only 4th floor and up. Once again it's because of the design of the Lodge. Most (but not all) accessible rooms are located on the 1st floor on the south side of the lodge with a view of the villas. These are the rooms with one king size bed and a roll in shower.

The only smoking optional rooms are located on the 6th floor north wing either Wood View or Courtyard View, there are no standard view smoking optional rooms.

The Disney agent said something about a day bed or sofa in the room. There are no rooms available at Wilderness Lodge with a daybed or sofa, unless you book a suite/deluxe room.

Hope this information helps.

Don't worry it took me forever to grasp the floor designs, that's why while Ronald's Ducks room layout is great, it's not 100% accurate. You would need the Architect's blueprint to get everything correct.

Beckie

When you say only 6th floor has smoking optional, does that mean that all the other rooms are non-smoking? Should I call and let them know that I don't need 1st floor or take care of it when I check in? Also, are there any rooms on the 1st floor that have bunk beds? That is what we requested. We do have standard view so I'm not sure how they were going to handle the request for standard view 1st floor since there are none.

I now have more of a decision to make since I was offered the 40% room deal because the WL is not available with the discount on the week we booked or any other week in September. The AKL is available but for a different week in september, labor day week. I have my fingers crossed for free dining because that would enable us to keep the 10 days at WL at the same price as the AKL at 40% and buying the DDP. I Really want to stay at the WL. Somebody send some pixie dust!

Still planning for WL with my fingers crossed :hourglass.

Hi all! Just decided to head back to the Wilderness Lodge! We were thinking about the last week of August. We were wondering if anyone here has been there that week and can gives us an idea of what the crowds were like. We are so psyched to be going back!!!

If you click on the room layout below, rooms on the North side of the lodge rooms 6000-6034 are the only rooms that are smoking rooms. Even # rooms are Woods View, odd # rooms are Courtyard Views.

I am sure there are rooms located on the 1st floor that have bunk beds, but once again there are no Standard View room located on the 1 st floor nor are there any Standard View room that have Bunk Beds. :confused3

Bunk Beds are no longer a request they are part of a view package in either Woods or Courtyard, the bunk bed rooms have separate prices. I believe they are $20.00 more a night for Woods View and $25.00 more a night for Courtyard View. This has only been in place since January 1st and Animal Kingdom Lodge has also implemented this new price increase.

Having said all this...the room assigner at Wilderness Lodge wants to try and meet guest request and if possible will do so. You are traveling in September which is relatively a slow time to visit so if I were you I would leave my request as they are "Ya Never Know, you might just receive some PIXIE DUST."

But remember... We do have standard view so I'm not sure how they were going to handle the request for standard view 1st floor since there are none....Everything you have is a request, they may have no other option but to assign you what you booked. A standard view room, which has two queen size beds. Especially if your request aren't covered by the room description or rate. :confused3

Jungle VIP
I personally have never visited the last week in August, but I have visited the third week and the Parks were very busy and HOT. The local schools here in Florida are starting back a few weeks later then in the past. The new start date is August 20th so that shouldn't effect you but most Northern schools will still be on summer vacation.

Have fun be at the parks early and take afternoon breaks :beach: at the Lodge to relax from the SUN. :sunny:

Help!

We are leaving tomorrow to go to WL - if my wife wants to go shopping and take my 4 year old with her, do we need to provide our own booster seat for a taxi?
It would be a bother to transport it all the way to FLA ...

I'm sorry I have never used a taxi while at WDW with small children. As you need to know now...you might want to post this over on the Transportation Board here on the DIS. I do know that some taxi's at WDW have car seats that's all I know. So Sorry. :confused3

Have a GREAT TRIP
