Pennsylvania is tough! My middle schooler runs into Rob Wallers All American kids all the time, but northeast Ohio is the home of St. Edwards HS #1 in the country. :thumbsup2 If you review the top kids in college most of the kids come from Pennsylvania, and Ohio. I think it's because it's so cold during the winters, it's the only way to stay warm! :rotfl2:

The Wallers guys are very tough. My youngest was teamed with them at NHSCA team tourny a couple years ago. Had the younger Waltko and others. Those practices were tougher than any match competition he had ever had at that point. The Ohio teams at tht tourney were always at the top of the food chain.

We have Blair, Upper Perkiomen, Germantown Academy, etc. I think you're right a hot sweaty gym, is slightly (only slightly) better than the winter cold.

Best of luck and let's all enjoy the WL !!

Here's my youngest when he was 9. 14 now & the varsity 189 as a freshman

A 189 lb freshman!!!! I guess the running joke would be "what do you feed a 189 lb. freshman?", and the reply would be "anything he wants" Did the high schools have their state tourney yet? Ours in getting under way today, and I have my cell phone at the ready for results!

Last year was our first time, and we loved it! Wispering Canyon is very nice along with Artists Point, and the pool is not crowded. If you ask for one of the standard rooms overlooking the lobby I think you'll really like it. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reply! How is the waterslide at WL?

He only eats once a day..........when he's awake! Actually he's 6'1" already, with size 15 feet.:scared1: I suspect he's not done growing.

Regionals are this weekend and state finals are next weekend. My oldest son (varsity 215) separated his shoulder in a match 2 weeks ago and is out. They bumped my 14yo to 215 (giving up 30 lbs) to take his spot. He went 2-2 in his final 4 matches, getting knocked out in sectionals (round 1). Can't wait to be in Hershey for the championships !!!

Short........but it's a fun pool. Very relaxed, not overly crowded. There is a place where the stream enters the pool, wihch is fun to hang out at.

zdad and sewer,
LOVE the wrestling talk(will be cheering my 171 nephew at regionals this weekend,he's a senoir and will miss the sport greatly)

Does WL allow non guests to visit and use the pool?
We have friends that live in Florida and would like to come visit for a day, just wondering if this was possible.

Thanks

One month from today we will be back in the Lodge! I can hardly stand the wait now!:cloud9:

So, do any of you have a fancy time machine that will speed up the next 30 days and then stop time once we get to Disney? :wizard:

To answer your question:
Yes and No
Yes ::yes:: you may visit the Wilderness Lodge anytime you would like, you may eat in any of the restaurants and enjoy walking around and enjoying the Lodge. You may even rent bikes and the watercraft from the Marina Teton Boat & Bike Rental

Sorry but No :sad2: you may not us the any of the Resorts pools, they are for the exclusive use of the guest staying at the Wilderness Lodge. This is for any of the Resorts @ Disney.

That is one big boy, and I agree he's just going to get a LOT bigger!

Does anyone have pics of the pool, my 4yr old is going crazy wanting to see what the slide looks like. We arent going till Oct and I know they are doing some kind of pool rehab--does that include the slide??

While I do have photo's of the side I think these from AllEarsNet Deb's website, are better because there are no guest around.

You can see our room from last trip perfectly in this pick. I was room 4041. Look at the awning for Artist point. Ours was the first room above it and to it's right. Great room. Very quiet, no hallway traffic, outstanding view. It was a 2 queen bed room.

Here are a couple of pics looking our (you can see the awning in one)....

Looking Straight out....

Looking Slightly Right (see the awning !).......
