Went through 2 drive-throughs today, and both times, after I was handed my change and said "thank you", I got the same response - "yep".

Is this the cool way to say thanks these days?

Do you mean the new way to say 'you're welcome' ??
i'm confused.

I think she meant to say the reply to thank you..

I just love when people say yep... (i'm being sarcastic)

Yes, I think that's what I meant.:D

<font color=navy>I really get annoyed at poor customer service. Been known to go to someone else & spend my money there.

Sorta like the "Shut Up!" phrase! I grew up thinking that was not a nice thing to say and I am trying to instill into my kids that "Shut Up!" is not nice, either.

I don't understand why the managers don't do a better job of training these people with better customer service skills.

I mean why are we thanking them anyway? For giving us what is ours?

They should be thanking us for coming to their business.

When I purchase something at a store, most of the times I get handed my bag and no words are spoken at all.

I have to bite my tongue to not say, "You're welcome" in response to their dead silence.

I constantly try and act the way I know I should by just being quiet and knowing that there are more important things in life than poor customer service. I'm getting better at not letting it bug me.

I have to say though, I'm with Mary Jo and I tend to think I won't go there anymore.
