Hello again... I pretty much made up my mind to stay at the DLH this summer. I have never been there personally and was wondering should we stay in the newer remolded rooms or stick with an old one? Seems kinda sill to ask as most would prolly say " what a dumb question.. the new one for certain!" But here is why I was thinking the old one... we will be a party of 5. Somewhere I heard the older rooms were slightly larger then the new ones. And Nana was just there and says the new ones will be cramped feeling. Also- I am kinda old fashioned and such- where I would like to try an old one before it is gone forever. Know what I mean? Atleast I would have had the experience and I can say some year down the road... Oh the old ones was way better or the new ones are way better... LOL. Also my DW was wondering if the pixie dust wall paper still glows at nightime.. or if it is so worn out it is just wallpaper.. hehe :rolleyes1 I like the little touches of a disney feeling like the map on the armoire, the mickey hands holding the lights... the little stuff. So far all I know about the new rooms is a headboard that lights up. Oh and I think the balcony from the old ones turn into a whole wall window? Not certain. So once again laddies... help me choose between old and new- also the view outside isnt a neccesity- only using the room to sleep in. Thanks!

How exciting to stay for the first time at the DLH! I have stayed in both and can tell you that the size of the rooms have not changed, just the interior design. Yes the tinkerbell wallpaper still glows at night but you need to "charge it up" a bit to get it to glow.. We leave the curtains open up all day and then when we come in and turn the lights off you can see the pixie dust surround you..

The new rooms are beautifully done and have their own special disney touches. There are mickeys in the carpet, in the bathroom on the walls and faucets and that headboard is just beautiful!! Yes, the balcony is gone and the room has wall to wall windows, but it doesn't take away from the overall feel of the room.

It's up to you, but if you think that you will be coming back again, then try one of the older rooms and when you return stay in a newly refurbished one... Either way you will be at the DLH! Have a magical trip!

Oh thank you for the post! I guess when we show up I wont be picky! I will be one of those sweet men who just goes with the flow ... hope for the best! :grouphug:

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the DLH in the Magic tower. It was an "old" room.

We found the room to be extremely large for the 4 of us (two adults and two kids 7 and 9). The balcony was kind of fun - kids threatening to throw stuffed animals over the balcony (we were only on Level 2).

I was a tad disappointed with the pixie dust. With the new CFL bulbs - the room was never bright enough at night to get a good glow going.
