Hmmmmm, perhaps it's time for another chapter? Or at least the start of one.
Gather by the fire. Tonights treats are chocolate chip cookies made with Frango mint chips, chocolate milk and vanilla ice cream with hot fudge or caramel and some nuts and jimmies for sprinkling on top.
The black ship had made it safely into harbor at Paradise Island and after giving instructions to his crew, Captain Jack Sparrow, Lovey, Pearl and Sister and Brother dragon headed towards town just as night was falling. The crowded streets were dimly lit with gas lights that sputtered in the evening breeze.
"Stay together everyone" said Lovey, taking ahold of Sister.
"Cap'n, where are you taking us?" asked Pearl.
"To the pub" answered Jack.
"They let dragons in pubs?" said Brother.
"Well, uh, actually, the don't. Come to think of it they probably wouldn't let the young misses in either, them being such tender young things"
"Well, you're not just going to leave us standing in the street while you swill rum!" exclaimed Lovey (who was more upset about being left out that about the rum swilling business).
"I should think not!" added Pearl.
"Well, uh, actually, I hadn't thought of that" mumbled Jack. "But I needs a drink to clear me head...for better planning, don't you know. I know, Silky will help us. She's always good for a pint of ale and knows some about the Magical Kingdom to boot."
So Jack lead his charges past the pubs and ale halls right up to a large theater. But as they got to the door, there was a notice posted on it that said:
CLOSED FOR THE SEASON
"Oh no" said Sister (who mysteriously knew how to read!)
"Not to worry your scaly little head" said Jack "Silky's room is around the back"
So that's where they went and Jack walked in the back door without even knocking!
As the girls moved inside with the little dragons right behind they noticed clothing trunks overflowing with silks and satins and beautiful crenolins of all different colors. Also there were boxes packed up and other pieces of luggage all around leaving barely enough room for all of them to get in. Just then the most beautiful woman the girls had ever seen came though another door. She had golden hair and a sparkley red dress and black feathers in her hair.
"Well Jack! You old scoundrel. What brings you here? Good thing you stopped by today as I'll be gone tomorrow"
"Hello Silky my love!" said Jack reaching to give her a kiss.
"None of that, you nasty priate....you know my heart belongs to another!"
"Oh, he's still in the picture, eh?" laughed Jack.
While this interchange had been going on both Lovey and Pearl had experienced very swiftly changing emotions, the last one being relief.
"And who are these lovely young misses with you, you bilge rat? Introduce me please. And, oh my, who are these two young dragons....I didn't know there were any of their kind on Paradise Island" exclaimed Silky.
So Jack made the introductions, and the girls told their story and Silky explained that she was leaving that very night for the Magical Kingdom.
"I'm taking my act to the big time"she explained. "I''ll be performing at the finest theater in the Magical Kingdom. No longer just a can-can girl, but a featured singer."
"Ah, Silky me lass, it's about time the world recognizes your talent" said Jack. "Will Christian be there await'n for ye?"
"Yes, though he's unhappy about me making the journey unescorted"
"Well then" said Jack "pour me a glass of ale and I'll give ye a proposition that may help us all"
And soon it was arranged that they would all travel together in Silky's wagon. The little dragons had long since fallen asleep in a pile clothing. Sister had wrapped herself in a piece of lovely pale blue satin and had such a blissful smile as she slept that Lovey and Pearl looked at each other, nodded and turned and asked Silky for some needles and thread.
