I booked a room at the Dolphin earlier this week, but I forgot to ask about EMH. I know we can buy tickets when we get there, but if I purchase discount tickets some how through a travel website, will those be honored for EMH? Last time we were there we stayed at POR so we just had the one key card for everything. Does S&D give you something to identify you during EMH? Or do you have to buy your tickets from them and get a special ticket? Thanks! I forgot to ask the girl before I got off the phone.

When staying at S/D you just show your plastic room card for EMH. It makes no difference what kind of park tickets you have.

How do you recommend buying tickets? Does buying them from the official disney site and holding them at will call work? I heard I could pick those tickets up at the S/D? I'm thinking this is the way to go but any recommendations?

Last year, I purchased park tickets through Undercover Tourist and received them in the mail 3 days later. Would recommend them in a heartbeat.

And, as Tara said, used our Dolphin room key for a MK EMH without any problems whatsoever.

So happy to be back posting on this thread. Booked 2 rms with my teacher discount for late May at $149 plus tax per night. We are ready to go back!!!!

tinkerbellie - did you say you were going for a conference? Your cheapest option for park tickets would be through your company, they should have a link to Conventionears through your conference registration. They do offer short-term park hoppers and even afternoon-only or evening-only options that aren't offered to the general public, even cheaper than Undercover Tourist. If you aren't offered convention tickets from your employer, if you have time, Undercover Tourist has always been the best deal for us, and I've used them many times with no problem. You have to have the special link for the Mousesavers Newsletter discount, PM me if you need that. I'm ordering my family's tickets tonight through Conventionears, I will save $40 over the Undercover Tourist prices, and $65 over the Disney prices. We're going in 5 days, so I have to pick mine up at Will Call at a theme park.

See, this is why the DIS is GREAT!!! I checked the conference website and sure enough there was a CLICK HERE link for discounted tickets!!!! They do have evening only tickets but I will be going to the parks for a couple of full days as well but the ticket is $45 less than on the disney site. THANK YOU!!!!

Would like to hear from someone who has stayed in one (or seen one). We have one booked that includes a sico bed and a separate bedroom with 2 double beds. Did you like the rooms? Any opinions welcome. :thumbsup2

This is such a great post with so much information. Sorry to ask a repeat question I'm sure, but would anyone be able to give me information on the teacher discounts? Is there a specific link or do I just call reservations?

Thanks in advance.

On their website there is a section towards the bottom for discounts. Click on the little arrow on the right and you should get a drop down that lists teacher rates. You can also call. I've found the discounts both ways and sometimes I get better information when I call.

Bumble - I saw great discounts on the website, but when I called they had them for $149 plus tax - total of $167.63 per night at the Dolphin. Make sure you ask for the teacher discount rate on the phone.

Bumble - definitely give them a call. they were so helpful, they were able to search multiple dates for me as our dates were flexible and let me know which hotel was the cheapest. I also talked to the lady about which week would be best since we're going to F&W Festival. She even asked if I we would prefer a king room, even though it's not guaranteed they went ahead and took that request over the phone too.

I have had better luck in getting what I wanted using the teacher rate by calling the S/D directly.

I have also found over the past 8 yrs, that if all the days I want are not available at the teacher discount, I book it anyway and continually call back on Fridays (when they tend to put rms back into the system)asking if the discount is now available. I have been fortunate in always getting the rate. It does help to book them further in advance though, so your chances increase.

Because this is the first trip for my DDs, niece, and nephew, I am wanting to do some little things to make it special. I am hoping I can mail letters to the front desk, welcoming them to Disney, so they have mail when they check in ( my BIL and family checkin before we do). And I wanted to have a little treat to go with the letter, something like Mickey Mouse rice krispie treats or a cookie or something. I figured mailing food in May is a little risky. Is there anything like that at the swan that you all love? I am going to call the hotel but thought I would check here as well:goodvibes

We're finally getting around to opening and enjoying our box of anniversary chocolates from the Swan.:woohoo:

Has anyone else had these?
