hookedup~ I have stayed in a king room with pull out sofa on our 2008 and 2009trips. Just note when calling to make your reservation that you want a king room with pull out sofa.

Our DD received the A+ S/D blue baseball cap back in 2007 when she had straight A's on her 6th grade resport card.

She also did get the ice cream coupon and gave it to our DS (big briother) since our DD is not an ice cream eater. Our DS had no problem using the coupin and 'upgrading' his dessert for a few extra $'a. He loves the banana splits at the Dolphin Fountain.

Our DD is now in High School, She is on the Dean's List (95 average or above).

Since she is still a straight A student - can she get the $15 gift card to use at Daisy's Gfit Shop in the Dolphin ? The A+ blue baseball cap will not fit her head - plus she has one already tucked in the back of one of her drawers for safe keeping.

Thanks !

I went ahead and booked my trip at the Swan for 7/14/10-7/21/10 via Lastminutetravel.com. The rate for 7 nights was $1,055.00. The rate on the Swan website even with my AAA was over $400 more! I really researched and feel confident booking with them. The customer service rep. I spoke to reassured me.

The rate for the Dolphin was the exact same. Also, 1800hotels.com have the same rates available. I can only go in July so I just checked the weeks I wanted.

I am just thrilled to have this awesome rate and my trip finally booked. Now I can relax about the hotel and start planning my days and dining! I am so excited!!!!

AWESOME!!!! Can't wait to go! We'll be the just before you!:goofy:

I don't have a picture, but it's not like the ones you get at the Disney resorts.
I like this one so much better, because it fits into the cup holder of my car.
It's one of the taller, straight ones-no handles and has scenes from around the resort all over it-kind of like a collage.
It's good for unlimited refills for your length of stay.

Just got back from the most fabulous time at the Dolphin! :cool1:

We had a great room, 19th floor. We could see the MK from our room!

We ate at The Fountain alot for lunch and it was awesome! Picabu for some breakfasts (delicious!) and Shula's for dinner one evening. Best dinner we had ever!

Cannot wait to go back. I'm trying to convince DH to take me back for my birthday next month!

Plus, we wet to Jellyrolls a few nights and it was SO convenient just to walk there!

I love the location of the Swan/Dolphin Resorts and would probably never stay anywhere but there again!

We just love the Dolphin....

We had a teacher rate of a resort view for $194 per night.
With tax and $10 fee = $228 per night

My DD was begging for a balcony when we go.

I was told last week by the Dolphin reservations it would cost us another $40 a night for a balcony before tax. Too much for us for 10 nights = $400 plus 12.5% tax :scared1:

I called yesterday and we were blessed with a balcony for only $15 more a night (teacher rate I guess @ $209 per night) - with tax it is $17 more a night or only $170 more for our whole 10 night stay :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes
Per the S/D website our resort view w/ balcony is 35% off rack rate :cool1:
and if we get a pool view room, our rate will be 50% off rack rate :woohoo: What a great way to save $$'s at WDW !

I was so happy :cool1: and it made my DD's :cheer2: day !

We now have a balcony room with a resort view. I asked if we could have an upper floor with a view of the pool. The Dolphin CM said no problem :woohoo:
Balconies are a great place for DH and myself to talk while our teen DS & DD watch TV or read ;)

We do not need a view of the fireworks every night - but my teen kids like to see if the pool is crowded before they go for a swim. :rotfl:

Dolphin here we come :teacher:

Hey Bucks County! I'm just over the border in Northampton County, about 5 houses in!

Did you ever see the Stein Mart commercial - they say "once you go, you get it." It's the same with The Swan & Dolphin!

Hi Northampton County! Did you get snow today like we did?

I agree with the quote in the commercial! We totally get the Dolphin! Great location, awesome food, comfy rooms. Everything about the Swan & Dolphin is top-notch! DH and I have been to WDW alot and the S&D by far is our favorite!

Oh, and the Grotto Pool. How awesome is THAT?? We obviously didn't get to use it on this trip but we swam at the Grotto during our Sept Dolphin stay and it is heaven!

We will be driving, so I have some questions about parking. Is the self park $10 a day? Also, I know at the Disney resorts, valet is free for those with a handicap tag. Is that true at the Dolphin or not? I can go either way, but I do want to be prepared. Thanks!

Just some clarification on the refrigerator....the last time we stayed there I think it was still a mini bar.....you mentioned the milk, but how many waters or soda cans do you think can fit in the refrig? Is it as big as the refrigerators at CBR?

It's not a mini bar. It is a small, square refridgerator. We had 1/2 gal. milk, 1 quart of soy milk, 2 mustard bottles, about 6 waters, some juice bags and about 6 12oz. soda bottles, plus 2lbs of deli meat and cheese. So big enough. I don't know what the ones at CBR look like, I forget.

Hi, I know there is a teacher rate and sometimes a breakfast rate. I was just wondering if you could book a teacher rate but uprade at a discount price to include breakfast.

Thanks.

We just got home last night from a 9-night stay at the Swan.

You can fit 2 1/2 gallons in the mini-fridge if you place one on the side on the shelf. This is what we did. Since we were there so many nights we needed more than 1/2 gallon of milk. Sadly we had to throw out our milk because our mini-fridge died on us and our milk and left overs from diner the night before all went bad.

This was my husband's 2nd trip to WDW and his 2nd trip to the Swan. As soon as we walked into the lobby he commented on the smell of the lobby and how happy he was to be smelling that again. :thumbsup2 I had no idea he even noticed it.

Our room was on the 11th floor and we had a great view of the Studios.

Yes, the charge is $10, plus tax, per day. Not sure about the handicap tag question though.

When we were there in May 2009, the valet guys told us that there was no discount for a handicapped tag. Self-park would be $10 and valet would be $16 per day.

Then, in December 2009, we were told by the front desk clerk that we would not have to pay the extra $6 for valet if we had a handicapped tag. However, they did not adjust our bill, and I did not want to worry about the extra $18 (we only stayed 3 nights). I am sure they would have adjusted our bill if we had asked, though.

Question for those S/D experts out there. Regarding bus service between S/D and DTD? Just curious for meal planning purposes about how long the trip is.

Thanks!!
