At the Dolphin, ours has been "spotty" for the past three years. Most nights, we had turn-down, fresh towels, chocolates, and the forecast for the next day. But this wasn't every night.....

Every trip we've had at Swan or Dolphin we've had turndown service - but it may have something to do with being Starwood Gold members - possibly? Maybe not, maybe we just got lucky.

Yes - we are coming up VERY SOON! It doesn't seem real, though, since we are SO VERY BUSY with DD15 final exams and she competed in a horse show today. All my things are on the guest room bed, ready to be packed, but the OTHER TWO haven't gotten their acts together yet.

SingingMom - if they can't get their acts together I can be packed & ready in 15 minutes....I love The Dolphin so much I'd stay with a stranger for a chnace to go!!

We just returned from a good visit to the Swan. Of course it is beautiful, but UNFORTUNATELY I had an allergic reaction to the bedding. My face has just now stopped the swelling Not thier fault, I didnt know I had allergic reactions until after my last child.

But without that issue, it was great. OoOO yea, my daughter and I got bit my some bugs while at the pool and they are some serious blisters. I have them everywhere which may be why I had the reaction I did to the bedding.

Did you have anesthesia with your last child? That may have been what set off your allergic reactions. I had anesthesia to take out my wisdom teeth and that set off a ton of allergies for me - I do mean a ton. I can't go anywhere without Benadryl just in case now.

Do you think the allergic reaction could have been to the pillows? Don't they use the down pillows? Just trying to help you out in case you want to go back.

So sorry to hear you had a rough trip and sorry about the bugs too. Goodness.

S's Mom - so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay regardless of the allergies & bugs. Too many people on the boards lately would just say those things ruined their trip, and The Swan was at fault. It's terrible you had to suffer through allergies, but really, they could have been triggered at The Grand Floridian or the Ritz Calrton too! Glad you saw your trip as a great time, and glad to hear the positive review of The Swan! Thanks for posting.

You know what?? I did have anesthsia. That is worth looking into. I have an epi pen that I got about 3 months ago after a bad reaction to the ZPAC (That was the 3rd time taking it but the first time I had a reaction). I left it at home (which was smart) But, I did have my benadryl with me.

It could have been the pillow because of the down. The last day I took a nap before checking out and I laid down on the right side of my face and that side swelled (In addition).

Yea the bugs were somthing BUT they were outside NOT inside . Thank Goodness!

OH yea, We still had a great time. We stayed in room 544 and it was a standard room but it was a corner room. We had two sets of windows with GORGEOUS Views! We were able to see the fireworks at EPCOT each night from our room and also at Hollywood Studios. We also had a WONDERFUL view of the Boardwalk Villas and the river and the boats.

You are so right that reaction could have happend anywhere, so that is why I didnt stress about it. I wasnt dying just uncomfortable. I would stay there again - minus the pillows

Down is something I that bothers me but doesn't make me swell. Never leave the epipen at home again!!! I need to get one. I keep forgetting to get a new prescription. I know, I'm bad. A bad reaction to a Zpac? Wow. That's one of the few antibiotics I can have.

Has anyone has success with luggage transfers lately? I've read conflicting reports from different people. We will be staying at the Dolphin for 2 nights, then moving to BCV and although we're driving, I don't want to deal with moving our owners locker because it sounds cumbersome, no wheels , no straps. Thoughts?

FLOREP1 - your best bet would be to take a taxi outside the Dolphin resort, with your luggage and at least one adult person in your family to the BCV.
The rest of your family can walk over to your room at the BCV. The taxi would not charge you more than $10 for the trip and you will be able to keep track of your luggage.

Last night I had a dream they gave me room 811. I figured they didn't even have rooms in those number ranges until I see your post there.

at dolphin now. Fridges out in hall, maybe getting ready to install. We leave tomorrow, guess we will miss it. Oh well.
