Hi,

We are from the UK and are looking at staying a few nights in August.

Can someone advise on the differences between the rooms at the Swan and Dolphin, I have seen floor plans, am I right in thinking Dolphin rooms are slightly larger?

Thanks
if I recall correctly, the Dolphin rooms are slightly larger and the beds are doubles, so they're smaller then the queens at the Swan. But I have stayed at both and I could never tell the difference in the room size :confused3

Thanks for the response, the prices for August are very reasonable and the location, with Boardwalk, Beach Club and EPCOT all closeby is excellent too. :)

You will love it at the S&D! Truly it is one of my favorite places to stay in Disney. Don't forget you are very close to HS as well.

Enjoy your trip!

I was wondering what the walk would be like from the Dolphin to Cape May Restaurant at the Beach Club. I'm thinking of booking a character meal there for our Oct 2010 stay. Along with that...does anybody have any opinions on crowd levels the last week in Oct vs mid Nov (week before tgiving)? I'm not interested in the MNSSHP or MVMCP. Thanks so much!!:yay:

depending on how you walk, 5-7 minutes and a wonderful stroll it is :goodvibes I've done Cape May character breakfast, very good :thumbsup2

The standard rooms at the Dolphin are 360 sq ft. Swan rooms are 340 sq ft, so not much difference at all.

have a wonderful stay Dan :goodvibes

Gotto love the little extra touches ! The one that comes to mind for me is the free popsicles we got as we got off the boats back at the S&D on a very hot July day :cloud9::cloud9:
I see the cheerleaders are headed back, Debbie. :thumbsup2 :scared1: :lmao:

Hello,
I am getting very excited for our upcoming stay. We will be at the Dolphin for 10 nights in June. It is over our 20th anniversary and I was thinking about booking dinner for me and dh at Shulas. I was thinking that my ds (age 10) might be persuaded to go to the kids program while we are at dinner. Can anyone who has used it tell me more about the program? Thanks!

I have never seen the Garden Grove crowded for breakfast.

Here is room service breakfast from Deb's site........

I think it is Pluto and Goofy.

I have never had a reservation for any S/D restaurant, but then again, I am solo and that may make a difference. I have never been in Garden Grove when it was crowded, nor Picabu nor the Fountain. Fresh is the only restaurant that I have been in where it was at all crowded. I would think a reservation would be a good idea at the signatures.
I am having a slow start to the day here, relaxing some at the resort before heading to the Studios.

I recall posting the quoted above some time back. Just wanted to update. The GG character meal was fairly crowded. I had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table for one. But service was excellent. Characters were Goofy, Puto and Chip n' Dale. Food was great, very tasty, priced well, even better with 20% off with AAA and Starwood points for my SPG account too. :woohoo: Now to get ready to head out again. :cool1:

Dan - sorry I missed you at the Swan, as I left yesterday morning. I'm in SoCal now - going on a cruise today! :)

Is there anywhere at the Dolphin where I can get a latte or cappuccino in the morning? (Is it an option on room service?)

Thanks.

Available at the Java Bar at the Swan, Lobby Lounge at Dolphin and room service.

:woohoo: Thanks. Latte wasn't on the room service menu before, and I seem to remember I had to trek all over to the Swan or the Boardwalk for my preferred coffee.

Now if I can just figure out some magic so I won't end up in a room with a view of the garbage trucks, all will be well. ;) (I talked my SO into the Dolphin--over a Disney moderate--and I will be embarrassed if the view in our "standard" room was one of the really bad ones.) Crossing my fingers....

Well they have expresso and cappuccino on the room service menu and the ydo have the steamed milk stuff in the two lobby coffee bars. Not sure if the steamed milk one would be available room service.

If they have cappuccino on room service then that is good enough. Latte is just a less foamy version of cappuccino in most cases. ;) Thanks for the info.

I had to post because I just couldn't contain my excitement. I was on the S/D site and saw that they released AAA for summer 2011 so.....I booked my June 2011 stay at the Dolphin! It has been a rough last year in my family (Dad battling cancer, step-dad lost battle w/cancer, I had a root canal fail and am going thru the long process of a tooth implant) it seems like one thing after another so I really needed this boost! Now on with the rest of the planning!

Yeah! Let the planning began! Looks like your planning for a long vacation. I love our long stays to Disney.. I hope you have a great vacation! :)
