Thank you - I am sure we will. You must be packing for your next trip as you type - haha!

Well, who can say its not a Disney hotel if Stacey is there! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yes almost finished packing -making sure we are all set for another magical vacation!

Just back from another week at the Swan. Great time for dad and two toddlers. This remains our property of choice - we are already planning our return visit in April.

Sheepish, red-faced question - even though I have been to the Swan multiple times, and DW many more times than that - who/what is Stacey?

Cheers,

;) Stacy is the ever cheerful, ever present hostess of the Disney Must Do TV programs that you can watch on your hotel TV (even at the Swan)! Seeing her face on TV is usually one the first tangible signs that you are back in Disney!

yep, and if you really want to know about Stacy I heard a podcast interviewing her. I believe it was Lou Mongello's show. I think she had a dance/entertaining background and then some other TV work. She has a pretty plum gig at the moment :lmao:

We stayed at the Beach Club during our last trip and visited the Swan and Dolphin while we were there. I absolutely fell in love with the place! I can't wait to until my first stay at the Dolphin next month! :cool1: I'm considering purchasing annual passes during this trip because I have another trip with my teenage daughter and some of her friends planned for January and another mother/daughter trip planned in April. Does anyone know if the Dolphin and/or Swan ever offer any AP discounts? If so, I think this would convince me to purchase the APs.

According to MouseSavers (http://www.mousesavers.com/swandolphin.html) - there are sometimes AP discounts at the Swan and Dolphin. But don't buy an AP for that; buy an AP because you'll be at WDW multiple times in a calendar year: http://allears.net/pl/breakeven.php.

:lmao:

I think I'm probably one of the very few who find Stacey a tad bit annoying. (and this being admitted by a person who has been accused of being "perky" herself. :goodvibes)

LOL - she is certainly "perky," too! I rarely turn on the TV in my room, but Stacey is always on the TVs at the Swan and Dolphin bus stops.

Hmm, just heard about Swan/Dolphin not allowing outside grocery deliveries anymore. I found the personal pantry menu on their site, but the selection is looks really limited. Am I correct that they are coke only? I'm frustrated right now, since we aren't big breakfast eaters & were planning on just getting a grocery delivery & eating in the room. :sad2:

These are the things we were gonna order. Are any of them available at the Swolphin? greek yogurt, oatmeal, whatever berries look good at the store, Mtn Dew, Coke Zero (which I know we can get there), and string cheese.

We could just do the grocery stop since we're taking a towncar from the airport but we have a late flight (the grocery store they use isn't open that late) & we're going a platinum stay at the beginning. Moving the food over, esp the refrigerated, would be a pain.

If you are a SPG member, but don't book with Starwood (we booked thru Orbitz) do you still get SPG benefits i.e room upgrade ?

I know fur sure you don't get any Starwood points, but whether or not you might get an upgrade depends. I can say from personal experience that the one time I booked through Travelocity, I wasn't treated any differently than if I'd booked directly with Swan/Dolphin or SPG. ;)

I think it will depend on when you go (how full the resort is) and possibly on your SPG level (Preferred - which no longer *automatically* qualifies for upgrades at Swan or Dolphin, Gold, or Platinum). :goodvibes

Not usually. It will ultimately depend on the property, who's working and how full they are. You definitely don't get starpoints and it doesn't count towards your stays. As a preferred member it doesn't make a huge difference but if you were gold or platinum you would probably care. Gold members get a preferred room and platinums get a suite upgrade when available. The main downside to booking through a 3rd party is the 3rd party can't guarantee bedding type.

After dithering and changing my resort countless times for my November 2011 trip I have decided my next trip really will involve the Swan.

After years of staying at a 'proper' Disney resort, in particular staying club level, the attitude of my fellow 'guests' this year hit rock bottom and I no longer wish to pay elevated rates to stay CL whilst my fellow guests (of course not everyone :goodvibes) piled those teeny weeny plates high with party food, pushed in front of fellow guests and were downright rude. :scared1: The arrogant attitude of self entitlement really was unbelievable this year.

I would like a more sedate and enjoyable stay and I'm thinking the Swan will suit my needs better. I would like a balcony, not necessarily to sit out on but I like to have the door open to get some fresh air, does anyone have a preference of views?

I've read different things regarding in-room coffee-makers at the Swan-- do all rooms have pod-style coffee makers now??:surfweb:

I'm also pretty disappointed that we can't use Garden Grocer this time around. My mom and I both have rather oddball food allergies, and Garden Grocer was such a blessing during our last trip... now we get to either try to shop somewhat coherently after flying for hours or take a chunk out of our first morning in the park! :( Wonder if there is a chance they'll backpedal and allow GG back in?? I'm crossing my fingers... it can't hurt to hope a bit!

As far as I know, all rooms have individual brew Starbucks coffee makers.

Sure do. Had some this morning as I'm at the Swan now at the end of 5 day stay. This hotel is fantastic. We actually are only going to the parks once while we are here (we have non-expiring tickets from previous trips). We wanted to do the parks twice but wanted to enjoy this hotel more. My kids love the pools and beach. Luckily it has been nice enough to use them.

I can't see how you can go wrong staying here unless you must have Mickey everything. Thank you Swan and Dolphin!

You will not be disappointed! We have yet to meet rude or "entitled" people in our five stays! :goodvibes It truly is an enjoyable stay!
