Look we're all in the same boat, we are going, so just book it, if something unfortunate happens I'm sure with the proper documentation you get your money back. That's what the Dolphin told me when I prepaid for the 'sunsational' package. If someone gets sick, or something happens, they cant keep your money. They're not trying to trick you, they want you happy...it's Travelocity and AMEX, it's not Bobs travel agency.

Rich, did you originally book with the Dolphin and then rebook with travelocity when you saw the deal? That's what I'm thinking of doing. You got out of the cancellation penalty with the Dolphin, right?

With the EMH thing, I didn't see it right away either since I was just looking at the cheapest room, but when I was looking more carefully at the res, I looked down at the other room options, and only the more expensive ones "include EMH." Hopefullly, like someone said it's just to make people that don't do the package that includes all the free stuff feel better.

Yes I had booked sunsational savings through dolphin. I called when I saw new deal explained the situation, rep spoke to manager and they said to book travelocity deal, and when they see my new reservation they'll canx my old one and refund my money. So i did it. The dolphin rep sent me a confirmation email, then emailed me when my travelocity reservation hit their system and told me i'll see my refund in 5-10 days.

dont forget to add tickets for wdw for 20% savings on those as well......that was an extra surprise!!

I e-mailed the dolphin, I booked the Amex deal through travelocity, the rep at the dolphin answered me back that it does include the EMH's!

As I said some pages back, with the size of these two resorts, I would say that there is renovation going on on a constant basis. I think there are always rooms being renovated. That said, I have never stayed in a room there that was not great.

I strongly agree with Dan - the resort is huge - they are ALWAYS "renovating". We have been there FIVE June's in a row, and there were ALWAYS rooms blocked off for painting, wallpaper, carpeting, etc.

We have been in a little "tired" looking rooms and in brand new renovated rooms. Even the worst room at the Dolphin is better than anything else around! ;)

Rich, do you by chance know which manager you spoke to? I just called, and they are not budging on the 1-night cancellation fee for me. Even after I told them what they did for you :) I kind of didn't expect them to, but wow, it would be nice not to have to pay it!

What kind of bath products are utilized at the Swan?
I love the scent of the Mandarin Mint products used at Sheratons elsewhere.

GinCar - almost forgot you were joining me on the same date. Have a most magical time too, and anyone else heading our way! :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Dolphin for three days before a cruise. Thought the room was great. We returned a week later, got the same room, and it was freshly painted and wallpapered. We love the Dolphin!!!:goodvibes

Can I just say I love the Dolphin already? We arrived late last night (Saturday night), and checked in. I had paid for a std. room with double beds. We got to our room and it had a great view of Hollywood Studios, and pool. We decided we wanted a king bed, so they switched us at no charge (view isn't as nice as the first room, but it still has a view of the little lake and you can sort of see the pool too).

Beds are super comfy, which is great because my SO has a bulging disc. Also loving the Starbucks in the room.

Thanks for the update. I see you are from Colorado, too. I am so ready for this dry skin to be in humidity!

Hi Bluemoon,

I had booked sunsational last summer for our December stay. Of course, the rate went down about $20 or so dollars a night and they would not honor the lower rate without charging me a 1 night rm/tax. Trust me--I called about 4 different days, spoke to different people including a manager and they would not budge. I was surprised when I read Rich's post that they let him make that change. Good luck though - I hope you have better luck than me! Honestly, I was a bit peeved, but I got over it and totally loved the Dolphin (it was our first stay) and am trying to stay again if one sold out night opens up for our week.

I would consider booking sunsational again but not until closer to my dates. I will most likely book a cancellable rate with no forfeiture and then switch it as the day gets closer or a lower rate comes out. I did it see it says for new reservations only but I called and they told me I could switch a regular rate to sunsational at a later time. Have a great trip!!

Good to keep in mind in the future! I did try calling again, and no luck. I did end up changing the res anyway since I still save money but not nearly as much as I would have without the cancellation fee! :(

Is there a difference between limited and standard views? I'm worried I'll end up with the dumpster view.

And I'll see for myself in four days!!
