Thanks again Nancy. Does Mears schedule the pick-up to MCO 3 hours ahead like ME?

The scheduled pick-up times at the Swan are at 20 and 50 past the hour. (They are different at the Dolphin.) Mears will schedule your pick-up time ~ 3 hours in advance of your flight time, but it will be at the time closest to the regularly-scheduled pick-up time.

I HAVE A QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm usually just reading & chiming in answering questions when I can. Now I have a question!!

Ok the question of the day on here is usually "How do I get from MCO to S/D?" SingingMom is quick to tell us that she is a sucker for a man holding a sign with her name on it from a town car service(I just love this!); others share deals on rental cars, I usually post that I always take a cab. But now I'm thinking - I'm traveling alone on Saturday - why not try Mears? And then I realized - even though I've seen it posted on here a million times that you can take Mears - I never paid attention!! So can someone who uses Mears please fill me in? I think I read that I have to reserve in advance & that the counter is right by ME - and that I might even be on an ME bus. No? Yes? I want to get there quickly - so I have to decide if speed is worth $70 taxi fare, or if I can jsut relax & get there whenever, for half the cost, or less.

I just need one-way Mears, coming back to MCO on Wednesday, I'm sharing the cab with 2 others, so the cost won't be so bad.

OMG TWO MORE DAYS!!! YES CAPSLOCK AND I'M YELLING! :woohoo:

Hee Hee That's me.... give me a man with my name on a card.... better yet if he was also holding an espresso martini.... but I digress.....

We took Mears years ago on our "Dixie Landing" trip (shows you how long ago THAT was! :lmao:) and it seemed to take FOREVER! That's when we decided a town car is the way to go.

Is the lap pool just that, for swimming laps? Is it an adults only pool or are children allowed?

Are innertubes/floating mats permitted in the main pool and or lap pool?

How long is the pool slide? Is any part of it inclosed?

Can one swim under and or behind the waterfall area?

:cool1: Headed back to our fav resort - Swan - at the end of July. We were able to reserve the deluxe alcove suite with balcony for 4 nights on starwood points and the fifth night was free! Gotta love starwood! This will be our 6th stay at the S/D. :thumbsup2

Mouseteacher
Did you book your points stay online or call to reserve? I have enough points to book the 4 nights at 40,000 and get the 5th free. :yay:

Yeah Karen - you always love staying there, so happy to hear that you'll be heading back.

I called starwood to book because I prefer to speak to a human :goodvibes -We needed 46,000 points for the 4 nights in the alcove suite. I had 55,500 points.

We have used Tiffany Town Car service for our last 5 trips. I just reserved again for our July trip. We have never had a problem with their service. Like SingingMom, I prefer to be driven right to the resort - can't waste a second of our Disney time...:). Plus, seeing the driver waiting for you at the bottom of the escalator is fun. For the 3 of us, the price of the town car is comparable to Mears buses/vans per person charge.

Thinking of booking the 6th night free with $100 resort credit. Anyone ever use the credit and know what it can be used for?

thanks

It's a food and beverage credit. You could use it towards a meal at Shula's, Il Mulino, Bluezoo etc... Or just towards food and drink at the pool or lounges.

Hello,
We are staying at the Dolphin for 9 days over spring break (inlcluding Easter!).
We are in a standard room but have SPG points to upgrade. My question to those who have stayed in a Dolphin Alcove room is what types of beds do they have? We love he regular beds and do not want to sleep in a sofa bed... do the alcoves have one 'regular' bed and a sofa bed, or can we get one with two normal double beds?

thanks..Joe

The site shows 1 king and a sofa bed.

I just booked with Starwood their Nights + Flights 2. For 70,000 points I got 5 nights at the Dolphin in October with my wife for our 20th Anniversary plus they transferred 50,000 miles to American Airlines. I got two free flights from Colorado Springs and 5 nights at the Dolphin! I think it's the best deal out there.

I rented points from a DVC owner so that on each side of the Dolphin I would stay at the Boardwalk Villas (so I could get Magical Express) and that cost $360 total. So, with tickets from Undercover Tourest, a full 7 days, air, tickets and hotel are under $1000. !
