I think they got robbed!!! Viggo, Ian, Elijah & mostly Sean Astin got the shaft...At least the whole cast was nominated for the SAG. I hope they win, they deserve it.

Unfortunately, the only airline that flies directly to Orlando from Syracuse is TransMeridian, BUT they actually fly into Sanford, FL, which I think is an hour away from Orlando. Come to think of it, I have a free ticket coming to me from American Express.

FPgurl04, so to hear about your brother problems. Honestly, it will get better. About the awards shows, I can't give you my thoughts there. I rarely watch them. Don't hit me, but I think it would be cool if Bill Murray won. Think of his history: Stripes, Caddyshack, Meatballs, What About Bob? (didn't see that one, but heard it's funny), Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters...

I'd love to meet in WDW with my fellowTAGLIARCHY but October is just so busy for me. I am the Volunteer Committee Chairman and am in charge of over 800 people for our big yearly fundraiser. And with only three others on my committee, they'd skin me alive if I ran off to have fun in WDW while they were slaving away!


FPgurl04 Man, your brother sounds like a real pain.....and like the others on this board, I too had one like him but after many dreadful years of torment, we became very close and if you hang in there and don't strangle him, I can almost promise you that you and your little bro will become best buds too!

Danauk I sure wish I had your green thumb....I can't even seem to do well with bulbs....but half the reason is my choc lab(Cadbury) loves to dig and smells my scent on the bulbs so digs them up thinking it's a glorious game of hide and seek!


Another almost warm but beautiful, sunny day....can hardly believe it was sleeting this time last week!

I might just sneak in the kitchen and whip up some choc souffle to celebrate!

Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing ok. I've been trying to keep up, but with dial-up, 10 pages is just too much to try to read!

FPgurl04, I know how frustrating younger brothers can be! Mine used to torture me! And I totally get the attachment to the Sims...An ex-boyfriend got my character to marry his character and it never asked my permission, just let it happen and I couldn't play her anymore! So, I stopped letting him play it.

Deadheadbelle, I think I read a post where you asked when Brian was coming home. He will be back in the states on 11 March! WOOHOO!!! I cannot wait!

As for the TAGLIARCHY DISmeet, if it is in Oct, Brian and I just might be able to come. Hopefully, we will be living in Florida by then, so I think it shouldn't be much of a problem, but of course, we will have to wait till we get closer to the date. Our APs will still be good, so that makes it even easier for us.

Just wanted to update...Now I have to try and go get thru the rest of the posts. Wish me luck!

Bichon Barb I agree totally with you about Bill Murray. He has a way of making you like the characters he portrays, even if they're scoundrels. I especially liked him in a movie where he was the head camp counselor and befriended a boy who was shy and picked on by the others. But by the end of the movie, Murray's character had made the shy kid into the camp hero.....the rest of the movie was kind of cheesy but I liked it anyway....if anyone remembers the name....please tell me as I'm going out of my mind trying to remember!


and ohanafamily thank you for sympathizing with me over my SIL's weiner dog. The little yappy beast demanded to sleep with me last night and after two hours of unrelentless yap, yapping, I relented and unbelievably, he curled up beside me and slept like a rock. This morning I awoke to ferocious little doggie kisses and he's been wagging his tail at me all day......this dog is a nut, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde...he wags his tail at me but growls at my DS9 (which is a big NO NO).....only 20 more hrs til my SIL takes him off my hands!!!!!

First of all, you are young and I think it's wonderful that you are able to see your problems as trivial compared to many others. You are at the age where everything happening in your life is supposed to seem like the end of the world. This shows what a great girl you are.

The second part I quoted you on blew me away for two reasons. One: I think it is so great that you care so much about your brother and want to protect your relationship. I think it would be great if you told him exactly what you told us.
Two: because you put into words the exact feelings I am having about my son, Daniel. He is 11, will be 12 next month, and lately we fight alot. Just like you, I want to be the kind of mom he can trust and talk to. He's definetly exploring the independence issues right now. I have to make a point of saying "It's your decision, I'm letting you decide", every time I let him make his own decision because I am getting accused of "running his life". Anyway, I agree with Ohanafamily on the killing him with kindness. Don't let him get under your skin. Surprise him with your willingness to go along with him on some issues. Right now I am taking great strides to point out to Daniel how much better the air is when we aren't fighting over everything I tell him to do. I think we are both learning to "pick our battles". I don't know if I'm going to make it to the other side of the coming years. I don't want to be a parent to a teenager yet! This marks my 1000th post! How ridiculous is that? I've been on the DIS since the last few days of Aug. In less than 6 months, I have posted 1000 times. How do I do it? Is there a gift bag or something for reaching this milestone? Surely I get a new tag, right?

DH and Daniel went to a basketball game, they're bringing home take-out! This has turned out be a really great day!

... I would love and I MEAN LOVE to meet everyone at WDW in October..a girls trip.. what a treat that would be..I can share a room, I am easy to get along with.. pick up after myself and I don't hog the mirror or take long showers, snore or Whine ( but i do wine

) .. and the Food and Wine festival too.. that would be wonderful..BUT

I have 3 weeks vacation and with our Spring Break cruise/ WDW and then the 2 week trip in July.. my vacation time is spent.. Plus I am supposed to be in Toronto that week at a JDE USER GROUP.
(that is if i am still working at the same company)..

The farthest south my territory covers is KY.

I need to go and catch up on what is happening??

But I stopped at the store and got some Dove bars in chocolate chocolate, carmel and milk chocolate and vanilla abd milk chocolate..for a pre-dinner snack for us ..

Good night everyone, I have to be up at 6am to get ready for work. I want to be in for 7am as I have photocopying to do and a few things to put on display in my classroom before the kids arrive at 9am. I'm looking forward to seeing them again tomorrow. Teaching the same kids all day every week you do miss them (although I might not be saying the same this time tomorrow!!)
