We did the exact same thing when we stayed LVC. DD was the boat watcher!:)

Great Point! I don't know why i didnt think to say that before.
We also had the kids watch for us. It was a great way to keep the younger ones busy while got ready or had something else to do.

OK, this is probably silly, but we are ipod-less and happy here. Please tell me that there is still a regular clock in the room! Alarm isn't so important (hopefully won't need it!), but I have to have a clock I can tell the time on in the middle of the night. It's a "thing" for me. Without my contacts/glasses, I can't see very well, so a lit digital clock is necessary. Can bring one from home if need be!

No worries, Sandy. The iHome is a clock radio with a docking port. Here's an example:http://www.ihomeaudio.com/products.asp?product_id=10308&dept_id=1006

When I was at the Poly in January I think I watched 3 launch boats coming and going from the beach. I actually timed it how long it took for the next boat to arrive and it was about ten minutes inbetween boats. We never had a long wait for a boat!

I was going to say that we never had to wait for more than 10 minutes!:thumbsup2

sand flees happen all over. We had them at the campground beach one year. Learned to wear bug spray real fast! We stayed at the Poly over 20 years ago and loved it! You can have bad memories at any hotel~

I have stayed at the Poly....was the worst resort ever...they had us moved to the GF..my first experience with the GF...now talk about memories!
When we sat on the beach at the Poly to watch Wishes (it wasnt called wishes back then..lol) we got bit up by sand fleas, or some type of bugs! My poor sons were covered with bites....unfortunately not so fond memories:scared:

Thank you!!! I think blind-as-a-bat me can make that out at night, LOL, with a lot of squinting.

Oh, and I agree with the above poster - bug spray is a good idea for watching Wishes, EWP at night. We didn't even watch on the beach each night, couple times we were up on the hill (what's it called?) and in the grass were all those little gnat-type bugs. I'm not a bug lover, but it's night near water - that'll happen. That's what bug spray is for. I *heart*the Poly!!!

Thank you to everyone who answered my question about the boats. (And thanks for the suggestion to watch for it before going down to the dock -- that sounds great!) I really appreciate all of the advice!:)

Honestly, it reminds me of that Brady Bunch episode where they travel to Hawaii and are cursed by the tiki idol. But I sort of love that about it.

Honestly, that is exactly why I love the Poly. As cheesy as that episode was, I loved the Brady Bunch--especially that episode. :lmao:

MsSB, thanks for the confirmation on the linens. Between you, k&a&c'smom, and Breeezy'sMom, we have four buildings confirmed with the iHomes.

No problem. :goodvibes One thing about the iHomes, its kind of boneheaded but if you have any type of hard plastic jacket on your iPod and you usually don't take it off, it won't fit 'flush' into the iHome. My Nano wouldn't fit on it and frankly I was too tired and lazy to take it off at the moment. :lmao:

I forgot to post thanks to MsStinkerBelle for sharing your holiday photos! I love the gingerbread man drinking by the tiki bar!

You're very welcome! Seriously, I loved that gingerbread man so much I'm planning to use that photo for my Christmas cards this year. :goodvibes

Im usually ashamed to say I have every season of the brady bunch on dvd but I can say it here! Those episodes are classic!

Does any one know how many can fit in the one bedroom princess suite?

I wish i was watching the Brady Bunch right now....

tiki idol, greg doing his sweet surfing, Don Ho (who?, HO! hahaha) The immortal vincent price as Professor Whitehead.
I would love if they had a brady night on the beach instead of movie night. That would be too much fun :hippie:

Do we know if they sell the spray in one of the hotel shops? It's one less thing to pack if they do.

Thanks,
Dan

I've seen it in the shops just not lately....but i wasn't looking it for it on our last trip....

I'm sure someone has checked recently...anyone?

Question about the ihomes in the rooms, do they have all of the different docking port adapters available (they are the little plastic insert meant to fit the video, classic, nano, etc.) or should I bring my own adapter from my ihome so I'm sure my ipod will dock without a problem?

My kids ipod video fit in there just fine without an adapter. I'm not sure about the other ipod types. Since you could probably tuck the adapter in your purse, that probably would be a good idea just in case!:thumbsup2
