I'm glad they are putting in ihomes, that will come in handy. Also, do you know if the updated bedding is just the new pillows or will there be new bedspreads and linens as well.

When I was there in December, they had new linens but the bedspreads were still the same. The linens are now much softer and 'crisp' than they were previously. They were :cloud9: . I couldn't stop touching them. :lmao:

I reported that there was an ipod dock in our room in Rapa Nui last month. Don't know if they are in all the rooms or not yet.

They were in the Hawaii building in December for sure.

The new line of linens came in a year or two ago, didn't they?

Yes, they most certainly did. :goodvibes I remember because the Poly was scheduled to get the new linens about a month or so after I was there with the Terror Squad in Augst 2007. The new linens were at the AKL by December of that year but I didn't get to feel them at the Poly until December of this year.

When we were there in December about half way through our trip, we came back to the room to find a new iHome had replaced the clock radio. I was so excited because I loaded my iPod with Holiday music and we were all able to listen to it while we got ready and hung out in the room. It was awesome.

BTW we stayed in Figi.

Could someone please refresh my memory?

Is there just one or several "resort launches" going between the Poly, MK, and GF?

I can't seem to remember, and I'm wondering if the boat to the MK might take a long time (if there is only one and we have to wait for it). We're going during a very busy time, so getting places early is important to us.

I dont mind walking to the boat, the GCH, or the TTC (there's so much walking anyway once we get to the parks:rotfl: ). Just trying to figure out which is fastest.

Thanks in advance for any advice!:)

I believe there are actually two of the "resort launch" boats that go between the Poly, MK and GF. I know that when we've boarded the boat at the MK, when we were about 1/2 of the way to the GF, we could see the launch coming from the Poly to the MK.

We've only had to wait about a max of 20 minutes or so if we just missed the boat for the next one to come along. Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

Yes, it does help! Thank you for the information, as usual!;)

We had one of the iHome docks in our room at the WL last December. I was thrilled that I could put my iPhone in it, play music and have it charge all at once without worrying about pulling out the charger I'd brought with me.
My husband told me last night that the Poly is his favorite resort, but he's not sure why (his parents used to take the whole family to WDW every summer when he was little - they usually stayed at the CR or the Poly). I remember one review of the resort said even refurbed it was dated to the 70's. Honestly, it reminds me of that Brady Bunch episode where they travel to Hawaii and are cursed by the tiki idol. But I sort of love that about it. I swear, the more I post over here, the more excited I am to go back, even though it's almost two years away.

mmmears, one of the great things about staying LVC is that you can watch for the boat from your room. If you're ready to go and one has just left, it might be best to go hop the monorail. On the other hand, if you want to take the boat watch for it to head over to the Polynesian from the GF. As soon as you see it on its way, hightail it to the pier.

We normally go to the MK via monorail. We love to return via the little launch when it's possible for our family.

As to how many, like MsStinkerBelle it often seems as if there are only two launches in operation. But there's a launch captain who posts and says that it is always three.:confused3 It can be hard to tell because of the islands.

MsSB, thanks for the confirmation on the linens. Between you, k&a&c'smom, and Breeezy'sMom, we have four buildings confirmed with the iHomes. It's probably a safe bet they're in all rooms now. Love the holiday music idea, Breezy'sMom.

Awesome about the holiday music... BreezysMom do you have some pics of your view from Fiji you could share? I'm thinking of requesting it for our Spring Break trip.

They also had them in Tokelau early last month. :sunny:
Hi k&a&c'smom :wave2: How did you like being in Tokelau? Also, had you requested it or were you just assigned to that Longhouse?

That's what we tend to do as well... same as when we're staying at the GF :thumbsup2

When I was at the Poly in January I think I watched 3 launch boats coming and going from the beach. I actually timed it how long it took for the next boat to arrive and it was about ten minutes inbetween boats. We never had a long wait for a boat!

I would love to post pics, I have really good ones, but I am a dope and can't figure out how to post pics that are not so small, you can't see anything...:confused3

In anycase, I love Figi, stayed twice, thrid floor on the Marina side and also the Luau side. They were equally beautiful. DD and I enjoyed being able to see EWP from our balcony on Marina side. It is a great choce for GV in my opinion.

johnsonet - :wave2: We forgot to request a building when we made the reservation, as it was kinda last minute. So, when we checked in, I asked the CM if she knew what building we were assigned. She said it was Rapa Nui, which I didn't really want (I was afraid of getting a parking lot view) - so I asked if there was anything on the third floor of either Samoa or Tokelau. They gave us a Tokelau room on the third floor, with a direct view of the quiet pool!

We liked the location, it was pretty central to either the GCH, bus stop or TTC. I think we would like Samoa better, just because we don't go to the TTC often. But the view of the quiet pool was beautiful, the walk to the GCH not a big deal, and for a garden view room, we were extremely happy with Tokelau! :yay:

Thank you both :flower3: I think you really just can't go wrong at the Poly :teeth:

YES!!! That is exactly what we have done...I've tried to explain to friends but they couldn't understand why we'd just sit on the balcony watching.

You get to relax in your room and as soon as you see the boat you can easily walk downstairs to the dock....this works really well too when its very hot out!!

I forgot to post thanks to MsStinkerBelle for sharing your holiday photos! I love the gingerbread man drinking by the tiki bar!

Just want to say i am leaving the Polynesian Resort Thread and moving to the Grand Floridian thread ( i decided to stay there in may 2010)

We did the exact same thing when we stayed LVC. DD was the boat watcher!:)
