Funny thing as that the last two days of our last trip we stayed in Hawaii and I missed the Poly lobby. I loved the Club lounge and all the food and drinks but the main lobby atmosphere is so amazing. I think in our past two trips we spent more awake hours hanging in the lobby and Tambu lounge than in our room.

My husband has a very stressful job and is working on his MBA and let's just say he is a tense most of the time. In the past two trips we walk off the plane, head to ME and as we head to the Poly I see the stress start to melt and then we enter the lobby and instantly he is in vacation mode. He does not check his e-mail (xcept for a radom sporting game result:headache: ) he doea not call work and he leaves anything work or school related at home and actually relaxes.

For this reason, I love the Poly so much:thumbsup2

I so know what you mean about this....we feel like this everytime we step into the GF lobby...i think they pump in de-stress spray!:goodvibes

I hate that Ohana got rid of the cheesy potatos. I no longer eat there because of it.
Why do the keep changing the menu?

Why is there hot tub at the poly?

NO KIDDING....love those cheesy potatoes.....waaaaa!!! Nope not eating there anymore...

I'm leaving tomorrow for my 5 night stay at the Poly! I'm so excited!

Unfortunately was in a roller derby related incident on Saturday so I'll be moving through this trip on an ECV. Anyone have experience moving around the Poly in one of those? I'm renting from Walker and I assume they'll deliver to the front desk, but haven't ever done anything like this so I'm not sure! From the sounds of it I won't need an accessible room as the ECV should fit through the door and I can use crutches in the room. Any thoughts on whether or not I should get an accessible room anyway?? Thanks everyone for your great responses in this thread, it has been a huge help! :cutie:

I think the Polynesian's color is gold, isn't it? I think the way it works (if they're still doing it this way) is that each resort has its designated color. If guests of the Polynesian have requested the front of the monorail and the gold monorail pulls into the resort with other guests in the front, they need to move to the regular cars so the Polynesian guests can have the front.

I've personally never seen that happen. :confused3

Hmmm i have never heard of someone being asked to move.....
I thought the gold monorail was for the GF since it is the flagship resort, then the CR was silver, and the Poly brown/bronze....Help please???

There are no set Monorail colours for each of the Resorts on the Monorail line, because there have been times when my family and I got on from the Contemporary and it was the red, blue, black or green one that arrived. Also it's impossible to have dedicated colours to each of the Monorail Resorts because it stops at all of them, so that idea would never work.

We did the luau before and I wouldnt do it again. It wasnt worth the money. I do love Kona but dont like that they took the filet off the menu.
I hear they are putting up cabanas at the poly. Anyone have news or pics on that?

I really wanted to try the Grand Floridian But i think i will stay with the poly because why give up a hotel u like and had great times at

The self-serve Dole Whip machine is in Capt. Cook's. It's next to the glass-front coolers that hold the grab-n-go foods and the milk and stuff like that. It's not out by the soft drink fountain dispensers. You have to pay to buy a cup at the cash register, and only then can you go back and serve yourself.

It dispenses pineapple soft serve, vanilla soft serve, and a twist of the two.

I love dole whips! the last time I was at the Poly the machine was broken the whole time.

The colors are only for identification. It helps in monitoring where they are, and in communications between monorails. This came from a monorail CM, and we all know that they are always right.:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the info....i would have thought for sure that the GF would have been gold :confused3
