Ive looked at pictures of Ohana and just saw big tables. Do they have seating for two people or will we seated with other people?

You will be seated at a table for just your party.:goodvibes

3 weeks from right now we will be checking into the Poly for our TPV room!

WOO HOO!!! :woohoo: I can't wait to hear all about your trip when you get back!! :sunny:

Just to make sure I understand--- the cheapest room category is: garden view? yes?
OR is there the traditional standard view:aka parking lot view.
I think I am going to be able to swing 5nights there in June (doing 4/3 deal for BC and due to dates we get out of school I can't do 2 4/3 packages...hoping for an AP or something?)

Like CRFan said, garden view is the least expensive room category at the Polynesian. You *may* end up with a room that faces towards the parking lots (and even then, there is a lot of foliage between the rooms and the parking lot), but the majority of garden view rooms face beautiful, lush landscaping, the pools, marina, etc. :)

Well, I switched resorts a few times (and changed my dates once) but today made the switch to Poly-GVCL. I'll be there 9/27/09-10/4/09. I've heard so many people talk about how wonderful the Poly is, I thought I'd give it a shot.

Looking forward to it :) :goodvibes

Congrats! And welcome to the "I've made my reservations but now I have a long time to wait 'till I get to the Poly" club!;) We're staying CL, too -- have you checked out the great photos of the CL lounge at the beginning of this thread and on Tikiman's website?

Thanks! Yes, I sure have checked out the photos...and it looks wonderful! I think I'm going to be taking advantage of everything the resort has to offer. I see you are staying lagoon view -very nice. I wanted to do that, but it was $1,000 more for the week! I'm hoping some good codes will come out though, maybe I can take advantage of one.

Thats good.
Can any of you suggest a good time to eat dinner here? I would like to be finished with dinner by the time the fireworks start because i rather watch them on the beach than in the restaurant.

You'd probably want an 8pm reservation. I've done this twice and the best thing to do is to 1) time your reservation so it is about an hour or so before the fireworks are scheduled to begin and 2) request that you are seated by the window so you can view the fireworks. Disney publishes their park events schedule 6 months in advance so you an get the time before you make your reservation.

Also, please note that requesting a seat by the window will not *guarantee* you are seated there. From what I can remember, there are only about two (2) tables for two next to the window. Also, depending on how busy the restaurant is, they may not be able to seat you where you request but they will do their best. Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

I have planned breakfast at Kona for 2 mornings during our stay at the Poly. *** the reviews are fabulous!! However, I only have one night available for dinner at Poly and that's on our first night. Since we're not arriving until around 3:00, I thought we'd spend the day unpacking, and exploring the resort. I can't decide if I should schedule Ohana or Kona. We've been to SOA and Ohana. We enjoyed Ohana a lot but SOA not so much. Unless it's improved a lot, I'd rather skip that. I'm leaning more toward Ohana since we're having breakfast at Kona but I just can't decide? Oh, and we won't have the kids this trip.

Personally I wouldn't give SOA another go. 'Ohana is consistently good but since you won't have the kids this trip my vote is for Kona for dinner. I've dined at Kona one evening and had breakfast there the next morning and I have to say the 'energy' of the place is different at night. Plus you'd have a varied menu of items to choose from instead of the fixed menu at 'Ohana.

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

Thanks, MsStinkerBelle! :thumbsup2
You must have visited the Poly alot. This will be my first visist. The pool looks awesome and the evening fireworks on the beach is another must do. Do you have any other suggestions of things that we could do on our first day? I don't really want to use a park day since it will be so late when we arrive. TIA!!

I agree with MsStinkerBelle ::yes:: We usually have a couple of breakfasts and at least one lunch and once dinner at Kona Cafe during our trips. We also usually schedule a dinner at 'Ohana as well. You can't go wrong with either choice, but my vote would be for dinner at Kona Cafe. :sunny:

Yet another vote for Kona!:cool1:
