Hi guys--I thought I was the only one home tonight--it is Friday after all. :rotfl2: Glad to have the company.

I'm here too tonight...sad thing is, my daughter is at her first school dance right now and I'm sitting home by myself on a Friday night. How sad is that?!

I can't believe 2 weeks from Sunday we'll be back at the Poly! :cheer2: It's been a long year waiting to return. I can't wait to see my parent's faces when we pull up in front of the lobby...I know they will be as excited as I was when I saw it the first time last year.

This will be such a special trip...I've never been able to do something like this for my parents. The only vacations they ever take is to visit my sister out of state. We went to Disney once as a family in 1984 for 2 days (stayed offsite with relatives). It's been a rough year for my parents...dad lost his job when the company he worked for was bought out and his position eliminated. Plus my grandma (mom's mom) has been in very poor health this past year so my mom is just exhausted. I can't wait for them to be able to spend an entire week at Disney with us...they've never just had fun with no worries because even when they married almost 30 years ago, they had a ready-made family (they married when I was 7 and my sis was 5, so technically he's my step dad, but I consider him my dad).

Sorry to ramble...just wanted to say "hi", I'm here tonight too, wishing I was at the Poly now!!

Aww, that sounds like a very special trip--I hope it is all you imagine it to be and more! Glad to see you're on board tonight too. :lovestruc

Our eldest is working tonight, but home from college for the weekend. Our daughter is performing with the college dance team at a board of trustees dinner--we'll be visiting with her tomorrow at her college football game. Ron (my husband) is on the "chain gang"--no he's not a ward of the state--working the local high school football game in a downpour! Poor him. . .and, as I said earlier, I'm doing :laundy: for the two college students. Hey, nothing better to do, except DIS and watch HGTV. :rotfl:

I'm hearing you Seaspray, I'm getting too old for the Friday out thing--I get tired by 9:00 p.m. :laundy: is about all I can manage on a Friday. :lmao:

Yeah, I'm doing laundry too! :laundy: It's raining here also (in WI). It's supposed to be in the 30's with strong winds and a chance of snow showers on Sunday for trick or treating. :scared1: So I guess tonight's rain isn't so bad.

Have a great night Seaspray & Tess!

I'm doing laundry too :laundy: LOL We're taking DS17 on a college tour tomorrow so we're hoping for good weather, even though we'll only be going less than an hour away. :sunny:

Aloha Shyjade,
We will be leaving for Disney 2 weeks from Sunday too! First 4 days at GF then Poly for 4 days. Can't wait to get back "home" Maybe we'll see you there. Just trying to figure out where to put my lime green mickey head. It's great to be taking your parents on what I'm sure will be a wonderful vacation.

Yep, snow showers here on Monday--that is a major four letter word in my book--I hate this cold weather. Our T&T isn't until Halloween night and that will be another high school football game--play-offs. Ron will be busy again and I will most likely be doing more :laundy: . :confused3

Thankfully both of ours are happily ensconced in their college lives. I wish you well on your visit--just glad those days are behind, although we are now looking at graduate schools for the eldest. He is a junior but will have a fifth year undergrad (chemistry, math, bio). I am not looking forward to it. Ours are at the same college and within 20 minutes of home. They live on campus (requirement of their scholarships) and it is very strange this year with both gone. :sad2: Ron and I are adjusting. . .just a different life with an empty nest.

I've changed TV channels, watching Halloween now. I can't believe that Jamie Leigh Curtis was ever that young--who am I kidding, I can't believe I was that young when it came out! :rotfl2:

It's raining here in Ga. too. Techinically, I went out tonight but am already back in before 9. sad but true. Shy Jade glad you are able to take this trip with your parents. I have gone with mine the last few years. They will love spending time with their grandchildren at WDW. Mine is the opposite though - I am lucky in that my parents pay for most of our trip. They love Disney as much as ds10 and I do. They aren't as obsessed as we are but they love going. Did laundry yesterday but folded today - yes, I procrastinated!!

Thanks Tess for your reply. I will keep your info in mind. Tahiti sounds like it may be a great choice. We can't wait!:thumbsup2

I've been doing :laundy: nonstop for two days. My old washer bit the bullet last week and we just had the new one delivered late yesterday. I hate :laundy: .

You're welcome, glad I could be of some help. :goodvibes

:rolleyes1 Hi Friday night laundry gang!:laundy: Glad to see I am not alone. Thanks for your reply Tess, a lot to think about. I personally don't mind being away from the center of activity as long as it is within reach of the action! The luau noise however, that might bother me.... I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for that magical day I can book the thing... But planning is most of the fun for me anyhow

Just back tonight...a newborn Poly lover. I faxed and put in request via phone for Tokelau or Tahiti, balcony 3 rd floor. I had a GV ressie. Got Tokelau room 3908, I'll post view pics when I can. Very nice theming. Loved the gardens, pathways ( p.s. walks to all spots are longer that 5 min. when your feet are throbbing)loved the torches, restaurants, excellent. Only went to the quiet pool the first day, very nice, but kind of cool....outdoor bathrooms - handy. Volcano pool - money view of castle daytime or night. firwroks from beach - pricless, I'll go as far as to say, after seeing Wishes from mainstreet once, I would rather avoid the crowds and be out of the parks before closing and watching from the beach. I just wish they would turn up the volume on the pumped in music on the beach..... Bedding... wish it was like the CR - duvet etc. but still it was comfy. Mousekeeping - fine - tipped $3/day - got at least 4 helpings of Disney bath condiments and soap - seriously, it almost put me over my luggage allowance, and a towel animal each day - this mousekeeper was very fond of elephants, a mickey head , a heart and something that looked like a sloth?? I guess $3/dAy may have been too much..... Can't say I am in love with the decor, still like the modern feel, but it was not too dark, nothing smelled funny, fridge worked fine, a.c. seemed to want to stay @ 70 degrees...elevators are small, but then again we had 2 strollers, neighbors were quiet, I hope we were.....kids spent today in the lobby coloring in the craft corner and making leis...today was a Poly birthday clebration of some sort, Hulas and cake for everyone... I know it's logistics, but they really need to go WiFi...I'll post more as I remember....

It's my birthday and i'm here thats what getting older being married with kids has done to me:rotfl2: . At least my family is sitting here with me.:goodvibes

I remember when the original "Halloween" movie was in the THEATERS!! :rolleyes1

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a good time and enjoyed the Polynesian :) We'd love to pics if/when you post them! :3dglasses

:bday: :cake: :cheer2: That's pretty much how I spent my 50th too--in fact, that's just how I wanted it--no fanfare--I did not want that kind of attention drawn to my age. :rotfl2:

Hope you had a lovely family evening!

Twinneybelles, glad you had a great time. Looking forward to your pictures. Thanks for all your info. We requested Rapa Nui, Tahiti, or Tolelau for our visit next month (almost 2 weeks :cool1: ). Can't wait it will be our first poly stay

Just I know it's logistics, but they really need to go WiFi...I'll post more as I remember....

Yeah, this is a big pet peeve of mine for the Poly (and the Disney resorts in general). I wish they'd get WiFi installed because it is a pain to have my laptop hooked up with the Ethernet cord when I'm working and i'd rather have my laptop on my bed or on the balcony.

Glad to hear your trip went well! :thumbsup2

Thanks Tess it was nice and relaxing;)

ME&3, happy birthday a day late! :bday: party:

Tess & Seaspray, I'm so old I didn't even see Halloween when it came out!

Hope everyone got their laundry done.:laundy: We arrived home from WDW last night. My son and I made it over to the Polynesian one more time for breakfast at Kona on Wednesday. I asked for Gary who has been there forever and at first was told yes. Then a hostess approached me and said it would be a long, long wait for Gary so we said first table available. So Gary, sorry we missed you!:flower3:

Twinnybelles, glad you had fun.

MsStinkerbelle, some folks on the DVC boards report taking along a tiny router to use WiFi in the villas and balconies. Maybe you could try that in Dec..

Shyjade, you're getting so close. Just a wonderful surprise for your parents!
