Well, you booked a GV, all rooms at the Poly have queen beds. The suites are the only ones with King beds, you would have to be upgraded to the "honeymoon suite". I have never read of anyone being surprised with an upgrade to a suite. Normally your view or possibly to the Hawaii longhouse for concierge is the upgrade - and rare. You will love the Poly!

Well, here's hoping for the upgrade:goodvibes :cheer2: :goodvibes
After reading this thread and seeing all the pictures on the other, I know we will love the Poly. Still confused if we can use the pool/hot tub at the GF:confused3

Let me preface this by saying it is only my opinion. :goodvibes Worth is relative.

All my stays at the Poly have been either GV or LV without club level. I'd thought about going club level but for myself and my family, we really couldn't take advantage of it the way we would like. My DD8 likes to either hit the parks as soon as they open, or have fun in the pool or other activities going on at the Poly. As it is just the two of us, we just have the deluxe dining plan and it works great for us! :thumbsup2

Other Poly CL experts will chime in with their thoughts. :thumbsup2

Thanks for your opinion! It's just me and my fiancee traveling and its his first time to disney so I thought it would be a better idea to book deluxe dining so we can eat at all my favorite restaurants! Im so excited for our stay at the Poly! We booked GV and requested a room near the GCH. I know this has probably been answered before but what buildings have the double sinks???

Someone asked about the mugs for sale in Boutiki. Last week the only ones there were car style mugs which were brown in color. No ceramic ones last week.

Well, here's hoping for the upgrade:goodvibes :cheer2: :goodvibes

Not the pool or the hot tub near it. You can use the hot tub in the GF spa, but I doubt that's the same as an outdoor pool hot tub!

So ... is the GF spa within walking distance? or do we have to go via the monorail?
I'm thinkin' a little hot tub time would be nice after a long day at the parks.

Yes it's within walking distance, so just follow the signs on the walkway to the Grand Floridian.

Hi BCV23! Are you having fun?? I'm quite sure you are ;)
Have you been to Jiko yet this trip?
Is the Poly as beautiful as ever?

Hi johnsonet! Yes, we're having a blast. And the Polynesian is just gorgeous as always. The flowers at the entrance always amaze me.

We sadly had to cancel Jiko. I had it scheduled for both last week and this but on both nights business interfered with our plans.:sad2: But we've dined at CG (twice), Citricos, Artist Point, the Wave, Turf Club, Flying Fish, Cafe d'Antonio...lots of good meals.

We had breakfast at Kona last Wednesday and hope to do so again this week. The press pot can't be had as decaf by the way. I finally asked.:surfweb:

Enjoy the remainder of your visit! Think of us who are sitting at the computer with a sweater and shivering! :rotfl2: I can't wait to hear about The Wave--we're thinking of giving it a go in May.

Good Morning everyone! I have been swamped with work and not visiting here much- just sneaking in to say hello and miss you all! My trip to the Poly is still over a year away but I am getting there day by day!!

BCV23 Hope you're having a great time. I'm so wishing I was back at the Poly! I have a question.. in your list of places that you've dined(all sound yummy) what do the intials CG stand for? I'm still not up on all the abbreviations here on the Dis:eek:

I believe that's "California Grill" (at the Contemporary).

Thanks shyjade I wouldn't have gotten that in a million years:rotfl: I'll have to read up on it since the Contemporary is on the monorail with the Poly...it would be easy to get to.

I'm so proud of myself!
I just posted the link above and I tried it after posting and it works!:yay:
A new first for me!:cool1:
Now that I'm finished patting myself on the back, I sincerely hope it can be a useful resource for all you wonderful dis people.

I love the California Grill. I have dined there a number of times. The views are breathtaking (especially at night and during Wishes) There was an outside walkway (top of bldg) that was awesome. :goodvibes It might not still be there since construction of the new addition. I hope they haven't eliminated it. The food is excellent with an upscale menu.
And, while the dining area is very inviting with large windows, there is also a counter area where the chefs cook on open grills. The chefs have been known to share samples of their creations with guests sitting at the counter.
