Good Morning Everyone!!!

It's been a couple days since I've been able to get on here and say hello....but we've been a little busy! :lmao:

I'll start with MNSSHP, What a blast we had!! We left the resort at 4ish all decked out in our pirate costumes and we were a hit from the get go. People were pointing and watching us walk over to the monorail the entire way. I was a little shy in the beginning, but that soon subsided and we actually started playing the role of pirates just to have a little fun!!

We arrived at the MK and again, a lot of comments and looks. Then it started...little kids coming up to DH and asking him to shake hands with them since they loved Capt. Jack! :rotfl: Then there were many, many requests for pics of us from other guests. At one point they were lined up and we had to stand a pose for a good 5 mins. Finally, we arrived at the Plaza for dinner and while sitting waiting, again had many requests for pics. Some even joined in the photo and had their pic taken with us. (the whole pic thing was crazy to me...I DO NOT like my pic taken to begin with, but I went along anyway!)

The party got started and it was great. Not crowded at all. Candy was a plenty and the rides were walk on. Fireworks were amazing as was the parade. Capt Jack saw us from the parade and bowed to my DH and posed for me to take pictures!! Overall, it was an amazing night!

I met Inkedupmoma, a fellow DISer on the monorail back to the Poly. :wave2: Hi, it was nice talking with you and your DH. I hope you all had a great trip!!

Slept in a bit yesterday and then went to Epcot around 10. It was quiet, wait times were minimal when we got there. Soarin' was only 15 mins. We had a 1120 lunch at Garden Grill, so we grabbed fast passes before we ate. Lunch was great and the characters were amazing!! My DS 7 loves Chip and Dale so this is a must for us so he can see them. As we were being seated, Dale grabbed DS's hand and walked him to our seat. He was SO excited. Everytime Chip or Dale came to our table, they spent an extra few minutes with him, playing games and even asking for Kyle if they could come home with him. It was awesome!!! We did the Disney Visa photopass meet and greet with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. That was great as well. When we went and got our 2 free photos (DH and I have seperate cards), we were able to choose any photo we wanted, so we chose 2 from the party the night before. I will post pics later of everything!!!

Last night we went to La Nouba! If you haven't seen this and get the opportunity.....GO!!! Worth every cent we spent on tickets!! DH said we might go back in January when him and I come back down without the boys! I wouldn't complain one bit about it!!

We shopped after the show and DTD was pretty crowded, no surprise. We grabbed a bite to eat at Earl of Sandwich and got back the room about 1030.

Today we are off to BB again. Hopefully my luck at the waterparks this year will take a turn for the better! :rolleyes1 Tonight it's the MK and finally Spectro!! Cant be out voted this time, our last day is tomorrow and I can't believe I haven't seen it yet!!

I hope everyone has a magical day!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Good Morning :goodvibes Glad to hear your having a great time. I love La Nouba Went with DS WE BOTH REALLY LOVED IT WELL WORTH THE MONEY:thumbsup2 . DH still hasn't seen it we want to go back with him. Party sounded fun celebrities for a day thats always cool:cool2: . Have a Great Day at BB :thumbsup2

BuckeyeGal, I know the room you had! When we were realizing our daughter would need an accessible room I asked the front desk if we could see one. A nice lady showed DD and I that room. This was probably close to 20 years ago now and it has been bugging me for years as I just can't remember...is it a roll in shower or accessible tub room?

Our room had a tub with lots of grab bars, which worked out perfectly for our son because he can climb in and out, he just needs a little extra help. We even discussed how we needed more bars like that at home. I wasn't sure if this was a special accessibility feature but I suspected it might have been. We didn't specifically request an accessible room because he needs a tub rather than a shower, and he can climb onto the higher beds just fine. The wonderful room location and great tub were such a bonus and exceeded our expectations!

Don't you love the monorails with a wheelchair? And the Polynesian is the best due to the TTC. Did you try the ferry to or from MK. It's so easy in a chair too.
You know, we were so happy with the monorails that we didn't even try the ferry! We'll have to remember that for next time!

The fan in your bathroom must have been broken. If it happens again, I would call. That may be the type of thing that a mousekeeper wouldn't notice.:confused3
No doubt you are right. I think we were simply too occupied with other things to think about calling to get it repaired. And sometimes I'm afraid to complain because I think maybe it was meant to be that way and I don't want to hassle people. Now I wish I had called so the next guest would not have to deal with it. But a slightly damp bathroom didn't put a damper on our stay. How could it in such a beautiful place? :goodvibes

Glad you had such a great trip.:cool1:
Thanks!

Stephanie your pirate costumes sound fabulous. It sounds like you guys were a real hit :woohoo: Where did you get them?? Glad the crowds are still low and you're having a magical time..enjoy BB today!!

BuckeyeBelle thanks for the detailed trip report..sounds like you had a great time overall:) I would have been annoyed about the fan in the bathroom too. DH takes looong showers..all that steam:scared1: I can't use the mirror forever without a fan to speed things along.

Oh and drum roll please Sunday we'll be at the Poly:cool1: !

Thanks for the reply, BuckeyeGal. Now I won't go crazy trying to remember. It actually makes sense that she showed us a tub accessible room as our daughter was still so small then that a tub worked best.

I especially enjoy the ferry back to the Polynesian mid day. It's not crowded at all and is a fast and pretty ride. It's rather jammed going to the MK in the am though. We take the monorail then.

Shell54, have a great time! Aloha!

Lucky you! I hope you have a magical trip! :goodvibes

Hi Again!

Just wanted to pop in and tell you we had a wonderful day at BB. We got there fairly early and I'm so happy we did! We were picked first family of the day and my 7 year old DS was picked to open Summit Plummet! We all received buttons and he received a metal. We also were given a free locker rental, free towels, 2 refillable mugs and got reserved seating in the Ski Captain's gazebo. They had a photographer with us and they took a ton of pics, so I will post them later as well.

When we were leaving, the same DS wanted to do Pick-a-Pearl and wound up getting a 8mm blue pearl. He spent his own money on it and decided to keep it instead of mounting it. Maybe, just maybe before we leave I can talk him into getting it mounted into a turtle or something so I can wear it? :rolleyes1

Ok guys, I'm off to the MK in a little bit....be back later!

WOW:thumbsup2 What a Great Day that is so cool:cool2: Did your DS ENJOY Summit Plummet:scared1: ! I would have been thrilled just with the FREE STUFF:lmao:. Can't wait to see all the pics and hear more enjoy the rest of your stay:goodvibes

y'all are making me jealous! We got back from WDW only a month and 1/2 ago and our next trip isn't for another.... well look at my counter in my siggy :sad2: I'm so excited for all of those who are already there and for whose trips are closer than mine! I've never stayed at the Poly before and I can't friggin wait!!!!!!!!!!

Buckeyegal - WELCOME back! I enjoyed hearing about your trip!!!

Now please tell me, someone...anyone...that the bathroom issue isn't "NORMAL" there. Being in tight quarters, eating out EVERY day, every meal....well there's got to be a way to help ward off unpleasant odors coming out of the bathroom! :lmao: Any tips? (We usually stay in suites where the bathroom isn't in the bedroom area) This doesn't sound too lovely!

I'm surprised by the mold/mildew, too. I mean, no wonder its in there if there isn't any way for the steam to escape, but gheesh, you pay min of $355/nt so least they can do is keep it mildew-free, right?

I'm a tiny bit scared for my trip in December. I keep on being told that all of the Polynesian Garden View rooms are sold out. Some of the Lagoon View & Conceirge must be too but i'm not sure. I just hope the resort isn't too too busy.

I'm by no means a Poly expert, but from what I understand, the Poly is always "full" or close to capacity. It has the least anount of rooms of any resort I believe. When we were there last fall it was at capacity and you could have fooled me. The lobby was crazy at meal times but the pool was not crowded and aside from a golf cart zooming by you, the walkways around the resort were empty at times.

I am so looking forward to this trip and as usual time is going by so
S-L-O-W-L-Y....It seems like it has been September forever and it is only the 18th!

Wow - what a great lucky day!!!!!! I hope the rest of your trip is awesome!

Aloha all!!

I've been worrying about my trip next month for the same reason. My best friend just tried to book rooms at the same time as us at the Poly and it was booked - in fact almost everything was booked but the AllStars and Caribbean Beach!!! Yikes - that's a whole lot of people!!!!

But then I keep telling myself - a lot of people at Disney is better than a few people in Massachusetts!! LOL

If by notebook you mean 'laptop' where I have spreadsheets and word processor files of Disney info then yes, yes I have. :lmao:

I have all of my Disney trip "day plans" in a word doc...I have multiple "plans" and label them A,B,C etc. I think Dh thinks I need medication :sad2: but all our trips are well organized and we never miss a thing:cool1:

I wish I was as oganized with every non Disney thing in my life:rotfl:

Woohoo! Thanks for this! Sounds like the *perfect* way to end our first day in Disney!!!

I'm getting nervous! We check in on the 15th of October and I still haven't received my paperwork AND my TA isn't responding to my email!!! YIKES

Picabo, the fans in the bathrooms have worked quite well in the renovated rooms we've had (all rooms are renovated). They appear to be motion operated. Before the renovation, the mirrors would steam up but odors were never a problem. Steam was BuckeyeGal's issue wasn't it? I think the fan in her room was broken.

We've stayed at the Polynesian several times when it was at full occupancy according to the front desk (I would go by them not the online availalability BTW). The resort was fine.:goodvibes Parks were another thing.:crowded:

Okay, so, I've never stayed at Poly before, but it's always been my favorite to go visit.

My fiance and I got engaged there, actually.

Now we're planning on staying there next August for our honeymoon.

I know that there's more than one building, but if we were to book a Garden View (which is our plan), what buildings would those be? We were looking at a map, and he asked me, and I was like "Ummm.. Not Hawaii because that's the club level, but other that that, no clue". Also, I read Tonga is the suites.

Is it just any of the areas that don't face the lagoon and aren't in one of those two buildings? I mean, that would make sense, but I have no clue. :confused3

That is exactly it.

Even the rooms that face the marina are gardenview.

So all buildings but Tonga and Hawaii have some gardenview rooms.

Happy planning!:surfweb:
