I love this thread and everyone in it :)

Yesterday I took the jump and upgraded to TPV for our anni trip :) DBF doesn't know!! I'm so excited cuz the long house we requested has TPV rooms only on the 3rd floor (if tikimans site is right:))which was our original request! I hope we get Tuvalu for us its in the perfect location with the boat and the GCH close by :)

Thanks for all the info so far!

:)

Love your wedding pic, DisneyBride'03 :bride:

Sorry jackdis, I can't help you with your question but I know you'll get an answer from someone soon...

I'm trying out my new Signature :cool1:

That's ok. Thanks for your response though.
I called today. Switched to the 4/3 but will only use 2 free nights. It's ok to do that. So essentially, we are now staying an extra day and paying almost 500 less! Woo hoo!!!!! (For just one day ticket since we have APs and no dining plan. The CM said that even if an ap rate comes out for our dates, we will probably still come out better with this package than going back to room only with ap discount.)

I'm so excited!

Sounds great! Glad you booked it and got those free nights after all. :woohoo:

Here's the EWP schedule posted on allearsnet:

Although the pageant generally follows the schedule below, check with the Guest Services Desk at your Magic Kingdom Resort for times during your stay. Inclement weather can cause cancellation of the pageant.

Polynesian Resort -- 9 p.m.
Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05 p.m.
Magic Kingdom -- 10:20 p.m. (only during extended MK park
hours)

Note that when the Magic Kingdom Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m., the Electrical Water Pageant runs about 7-20 minutes later.

Question about CL -
I posted this on the Club Level Thread, but I figured posting here would help too. My DD16 has many, many allergies, so basically I was wondering if the CL would be worth it. Can they accomodate for her allergies? Anyone with allergies stayed CL and used the Lounge, your experiences are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Quick questions ~

What time does Kona open for breakfast?

Thanks!

Question about the refillable mugs - what drink options are there? (Coffee, soda, juice, milk, tea?) and what hours can you get into CC to get your refills? AND....anyone have a pix of the mugs? Did they change yet for thsi year??

THANKS!

In comparison to GF, how's the service at Poly?
DH will consider a deluxe resort only if it's on the monorail. We stayed at GF during our previous stay. (our 1st trip to wdw and we fell in love!). Our second trip is being planned for December. I know I will like GF but want to try the poly or CR. I've been reading some negative things about CR but the BLT sounds appealing since the rooms will be new.

I really like the theme of poly but DH thinks it doesn't look "all that".

This is not a which resort is better question. I've read how most of the difference is in the theme only. But I've also read about service being bad at Poly. Since DH was spoiled at GF, will he regret staying at Poly? The price between the two packages is under $300 so GF is still do able financially. I am just worried that if I convince him to stay at the poly and then he dislikes the service it could ruin our precious vacation week.

Please help...

DH is leaning towards CSR if a monorail resort doesn't workout. But I am not looking forward to that even though with the renovated rooms the resort is quite appealing. I guess once you've done a deluxe its hard to go back.

I posted this on the dinning plan section- but thought I would ask it here since it didn't really get a for sure answer LOL
Does anyone know if you can get the Kona Island speciality coffees with a snack credit?
and how good are they LOL I am pretty darn picky about my coffee LOL

Hi everyone!! :wave2:

I know I haven't posted on this thread in a while, but this is my 14,000th post! I thought for a moment or two about WHERE on the DIS I wanted to post this momentous post (LOL) and I decided to come here to this thread because the Resorts Board has always been my "home" here on the DIS, and this thread is my absolute favorite thread out of ALL the boards here. :cloud9:

I haven't been here for a while because I canceled my WDW trips for this year. :( I cancelled the May trip because it was going to interfere with DS17's high school graduation activities, and I cancelled the August trip because it would've interfered with a convention that I'll be attending during the same time frame. So...that just means that I need to reschedule my next trip to the Polynesian. :sunny: (Never say "cancel", say "reschedule"! LOL)

On a brighter note, DH and I decided to book the 14-night westbound transatlantic Disney cruise for September 2010, to celebrate our 10th anniversary! We're excited to go to Europe for a few ports, then 5 days at sea across the Atlantic, then a few Caribbean ports. :woohoo: Hopefully a couple of days in WDW before flying home.

Ok, to keep this on topic, I'll answer a few questions! :surfweb:

NJ2Boardwalk: My DH is diabetic, and when we've stayed concierge and alerted them to it, they made sure that some sugar-free items were available during breakfast and during the desserts and cordials after dinner. :) I have a feeling that they'd be able to accomodate your needs. However, I'd contact the Special Needs department and speak to someone there, just to be sure.

NikkiLovesWDW!: Here's a link from Page 1 with all of the Polynesian restaurant times; Kona Cafe opens at 7:30am :sunny: (Good choice, by the way, Kona Cafe is our FAVORITE, especially for breakfast!) http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=22944560&postcount=9

Picabo: Here's a pic of the soda machine inside Capt Cook's, as posted by MsStinkerbelle http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=27212560&postcount=3922 Capt Cook's is open 24 hours a day, but the grill closes at 11pm.

dpndka: We've stayed at the Polynesian several times and have always had excellent services in all areas of the resort. The thing is, anyone can have a problem at ANY resort. If your DH loved your stay at the GF, and thinks that the Polynesian doesn't look so great, maybe you're better off staying at the GF again, rather than something possibly going wrong and having it ruin your vacation time. I hope you have a great trip, wherever you decide to stay. :)

Congrats on 14,000 posts Seaspray!!! :cool1: :woohoo: :cheer2:

I love the Polynesian but Bell Services and Housekeeping are NOT as good as at GF, in my experience (I stay at both resorts regularly...) If it's all about services like those two then maybe you'd be better off sticking w/ GF?

Ditto!!!!!

Hi SeaSpray :wave2: Great to hear from you... I've been wondering about you :flower3:

 Hi Seaspray!
I was also able to rebook and take advantage of the 4/3 promo:cool1: Our original travel dates were 6/26-6/30. It seems like I'm never able to travel during the times when promotions are offered, but this time I got lucky:woohoo: We're rebooked for 6/26-7/3 for less money than our original trip-and it's for the same room category :).
I love all the pictures on this thread:lovestruc

I'm just catching up because we just got back from, guess where? Disney. Surprise, surprise.

We are already booked at the POLY in July (room only Club level) and when I called to switch to the 4/3, it cost so much more. I am going to call again in a few minutes. we have ap's.

were you upfront with your checkout date? when we were just there we could have gotten the 4/3 but the CM I talked to when the offer first came out said you had to stay for the whole time. It wasn't a big deal b/c we already had airfare, blah, blah, blah, but I want to know for July.
Thanks.

I had room only AAA Poly GV club too and switched to 4/3 Club and we saved quite a bit? Not sure why you did not. I believe value season starts July 21..which is our first day there.
