Hi everyone!!
I know I haven't posted on this thread in a while, but this is my 14,000th post! I thought for a moment or two about WHERE on the DIS I wanted to post this momentous post (LOL) and I decided to come here to this thread because the Resorts Board has always been my "home" here on the DIS, and this thread is my absolute favorite thread out of ALL the boards here.
I haven't been here for a while because I canceled my WDW trips for this year.

I cancelled the May trip because it was going to interfere with DS17's high school graduation activities, and I cancelled the August trip because it would've interfered with a convention that I'll be attending during the same time frame. So...that just means that I need to reschedule my next trip to the Polynesian.

(Never say "cancel", say "reschedule"! LOL)
On a brighter note, DH and I decided to book the 14-night westbound transatlantic
Disney cruise for September 2010, to celebrate our 10th anniversary!

We're excited to go to Europe for a few ports, then 5 days at sea across the Atlantic, then a few Caribbean ports.

Hopefully a couple of days in WDW before flying home.
Ok, to keep this on topic, I'll answer a few questions!
NJ2Boardwalk: My DH is diabetic, and when we've stayed concierge and alerted them to it, they made sure that some sugar-free items were available during breakfast and during the desserts and cordials after dinner.

I have a feeling that they'd be able to accomodate your needs. However, I'd contact the Special Needs department and speak to someone there, just to be sure.
NikkiLovesWDW!: Here's a link from Page 1 with all of the Polynesian restaurant times; Kona Cafe opens at 7:30am

(Good choice, by the way, Kona Cafe is our FAVORITE, especially for breakfast!)

Picabo: Here's a pic of the soda machine inside Capt Cook's, as posted by MsStinkerbelle
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=27212560&postcount=3922 Capt Cook's is open 24 hours a day, but the grill closes at 11pm.
dpndka: We've stayed at the Polynesian several times and have always had excellent services in all areas of the resort. The thing is, anyone can have a problem at ANY resort. If your DH loved your stay at the GF, and thinks that the Polynesian doesn't look so great, maybe you're better off staying at the GF again, rather than something possibly going wrong and having it ruin your vacation time. I hope you have a great trip, wherever you decide to stay.
