Does anyone know when the boat sarts in the am? I don't think that it is early enough for the EMH @ the MK but I am not sure.

The boats start before the MK opens, even on EMH days.

Although if you went to the Magic Kingdom during AM EMH the Express Monorail does not start until 9:00 AM, so your only option is the Resort Monorail.

Does this happen for the Epcot EMH also? If we plan on going first thing for the EMH do I have to take the resort monorail around?

We are checking out the day we go to the MK, and they are going to transfer our bags to the POP. Will they get our bags from our room, or do we need to carry them down? Is the check out line lomg around 7 on a saturday am? We would like to check out, and try to get a walk in at ohanas breakfast. They are booked, but i was hoping to get in around 730 when they open.

:moped:

As for other resorts, it's probably best to go to the TTC and get a bus from there.
Some of the buses that leave from the front of Poly for the parks do stop at some of the resorts along the way to pick up other passengers . I guess you would have to ask the bus driver whene he stops along the way

There are no buses to WDW resorts at the TTC. There is a SOG shuttle there.

Many years ago, there were buses to other resorts at the TTC but that was before the MK bus drop was opened.

Until a few years ago, there was also a WL>FW>TTC route but alas that's gone as well.

As far as I know the only other resort ever stopped at after the Polynesian is the GF. Usually the Polynesian seems to share with the CR with the Polynesian being the last stop before the DAK and DHS.

The Epcot monorail will run for EMH there. It probably starts 1/2 hour early but I'm not certain.

The resort monorail begins at 7am but you will certainly get to the TTC faster by just walking.

I'm pretty certain the express monorail begins running at 8:30 when the MK opens at 9am BTW.

Bell services will come to your room to collect your luggage. I'd allow at least half an hour from the time you place your call.

If you leave a credit card on your file, you won't need to go to the front desk for checkout.

However, the lines by the front desk always seem short that early in the am.

Hi everyone :goodvibes

I need your help ;)

We ve booked our stay at Poly for our wedding next May but when asked if we "had any special requests" i kinda froze & realised i had nt researched to see which are the best rooms to request :confused3 .

I asked for a room with a balcony as i would love  that but apart from that im clueless.

We ve booked a Garden view room, as mentioned we re getting married whilst staying at Poly so we would love something in a quite area that has lovely views plus a balcony :lovestruc

Please if anyone could make any recommendations i would greatly appreciate it :)

:confused3
Since your a Monorail or boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom, that is basically the best location to get on a bus to any WDW Resort because you know they will have a bus which goes there. As for the parks once again the Polynesian has direct buses to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney and for Epcot all you need to do is walk over to the TTC and get on the Epcot Monorail.

So you are saying that when going to the HS, AK and DD, the buses go directly from the Poly to these locations. I thought the buses were shared with the CR and GF when going to these locations. :confused3

Wow, this thread is huge! LOL!

We usually stay at POFQ but are planning on trying the Poly for our next visit.

Our family consists of my husband, 10 year old daughter and me of course. ;) We are interested in a MK view. Would love to be able to see the fireworks &/or Electric parade from our room.

Should we do first floor or should we get a room with a balcony? I am not sure...

Thanks for any responses...I am sure the answers are in this thread and I am slowly making my way through the posts but in the mean time any input would be great.

Yes they do share with the Contemporary and Grand Floridian, however they still go to those parks and DTD which should be the most important thing.

Hello- I stayed at POLY as a child but that is it. We are currently planning a quick trip in Sept. Now we are typically Beach Club people, but stayed at the GF (just returned May 14-22) and loved it. My husband wants to try to branch out and stay some other places, so it is between POLY and BWI. So if we decided on POLY we will book a garden view and while I am familiar with the layout of the resort, I do not know the names of the buidlings. I would like a Full balcony on an upper floor as I noticed some did not have that, with a decent view.So could someone help me become and expert only POLY and where I should request for convenience. I should say that we were married at the wedding pavilion so we enjoy strolling along there in the evenings, but our room location would not make a difference.

Suggesting a room for someone else is always difficult. If you are staying in a GV and want a balcony on an upper floor, I would suggest your request be just that, a balcony, upper floor rather than a specific building. As you said, room location isn't an issue for you, but the view and balcony are important.

If you really want to request a specific longhouse and given your preferences, I would suggest Tokelau or Tahiti. One side of Tokelau faces the quiet pool and the other a lovely garden area and Tahiti.

Hope that gives you some help!

I guess I would like to know what views at POLY are considered GV. Obviously I would like the best view possible in that category, but with that said, I realize I can not have a million requests. So are the pool and marina views considered garden views. They are at the Gf.

If yes, what buildings would allow me the best viw in my category and with a full balcony.

Yes, marina and pool views are gardenview at the Polynesian.

With the exception of the concierge buildings, all longhouses have some gardenview rooms. Some are all gardenview. Most rooms have balconies or patios but there are some second floor rooms that do not. All buildings have beautiful gardenviews.

I agree with Tess. In your case, I'd just request balcony, upper floor. Let the tikigods decide.

Hi Tess!:wave2: Congratulations to your daughter!:cheer2:
And have fun at the Polynesian!

This was our "garden view" - loved it!

We could see the Water Parade from our room but had to stretch a bit to see the fireworks (plus we didn't have a balcony to walk out onto).

Our GV room at the Poly was SO much better than our "Savannah" view at AKL the year before, that we are returning to the Poly again this year but have no real desire to return to the AKL anytime soon:

:wave2: I'm around, just busy--busy. Yep, our baby is graduating Sunday--we are in a better place this time around and I'm sure our vacation won't be as "blah" as it was after our son's graduation. Not that I will miss her any less than him, but she has opted to head to the same college as our son and they will both be only about 1/2 an hour away!

:offtopic: Shameless brag--she would not be outdone by her brother either, just as he did, she earned the valedictorian title! So, while we are now overwhelmed preparing for graduation and vacation, we are also oh so  and quite proud. Our house will be mighty quiet this fall--it's all good though! I still keep my eye on everyone around here despite the craziness right now. Thanks for remembering our daughter and the good wishes for our vacation.
