:moped: I'm not sure of the names of the long houses I'd recommend. But, I do suggest that you get a garden view that faces the quiet pool. that whole area has lush gardens and the quiet pool is just that....quiet. The morning always brings the locals (cute critters) out. And it's soo serene. It's a perfect way to wake up with your favorite coffee blend. It's worth a quick walk to the GCH for kona coffee. Then just sit back, catch your breath, take in the surroundings and look forward to the magic of the day.popcorn::

The gardenview rooms that face the quiet pool are in Raratonga, Niue, Samoa and Tokelau.

Gardenview concierge rooms in Hawaii face that pool as well.

Does anyone know if Tikiman's site is down permanently? I haven't been able to access it for over a week.
If anyone isn't familiar with it, I highly recommend it. It's the most informative Poly site I've ever seen.
I don't know how to provide a link here...but the listing in my favs is "***********"
Have a magical day!
:cool1:

Tikimans site always goes down at the end of the month due to bandwidth usage. Its usually back up by about the 4th :)

Thank you...that's what i love about this site...there is always someone who has the answer.
DISney people are the best...especially the Poly people

I've noticed that a lot of people ask for Poly's address and phone numbers.
I'd like to add that Tikiman lists a new number for the Hawaii bldg. concierge desk. I'm not sure what it is because the site is temporarily down. But I'm sure I saw it there and if you need to contact concierge for any reasons such as special requests he says that only this new nymber will get you to them. I believe he stated that even the switchboard at the Poly wasn't connecting to the right number when you ask for concierge. I think their fax number is new also.
I have had to contact the people at the concierge a number of times and the CMs there are the nicest and most helpful people I've ever dealt with. They are also wonderful about recognizing special events and requests.
Tell them what makes your trip especially special and they seem to have an abundant supply of pixie dust to spread around. And usually when you least expect it.
As much as I love the Summer, I can't wait for this one to be over and I'm on my way back to paradise. :yay: :hourglass

I understand what you're saying about the calling the Poly...BUT, there is a new number for the desk at the Hawaiian longhouse (club level, concierge) and I have called that desk (at the old number) in the past and have gotten my dinner reservations and other requests taken care of by them. I wouldn't call them if i was not staying at their concierge bldg.
Even the check-in is handled differently there. You don't check in at the GCH if you're staying concierge level...you go dierectly to the Hawaiian long house and check in there.

That's how it goes for any Club Level floor or building at the Deluxe Resorts, so it's nothing new at the Polynesian.

We just returned from a four night stay in the 2br princess suite at the polynesian. It was wonderfull!!!! We went for my daughters high school graduation present. It was myself, dh, dd, two friends of hers, and ds. I will have pictures and review to come later but I am to tired from the 8 and 1/2 hour drive home.

I'm so glad to her that you had a wonderful vacation. I've stayed in the Hawaiin bldg a number of times. But I'm considering doing one of the suites is Tonga next trip (Oct can't come soon enough).
I very much look forward to all the details and hope you'll include photos of your suite. I've looked for photos of the suites but have only found the king suite so far. iIt's absolutely gorgeous, but fr too big for my needs.
I believe there is a princess suite there with only one bedroom. That would be perfect for me.

PS:
Here's an interesting note...years ago, the Hawaii bldg. was called Tonga.

It was indeed. It was the first building we stayed in at the Polynesian. We had that incredible lagoon view of the castle and were hooked for life.

Way back then it was not concierge.

cecile, I'm glad your stay was so magical. Can't wait to see your pictures and hear more! And welcome to the DIS!

I was paying bills when I realized...I only have 3 months to go!!!:cool1: This is DH and DS (2) first trip to WDW! I need to get back to planning. Anyway, back to reading and getting my Poly fix!!

Hi all, We got home last Monday and I must say at this time now I can not imagine staying anywhere but the Poly. We checked in on the 19th and stayed until the 26th and like a few others I noticed while I was just catching up we were upgraded. We had booked club level garden view and were upgraded to a beautiful castle view in room 3508. The club CM's were all wonderful with my DD and helping us with boxes and shipping them home for us when we "over shopped". DD absolutely loved the electric water parade (I think more then the fireworks even) and we can not wait to go back. I will post some pics as soon as I have posted enough to use attatchments. Oh and we did get the chocolate postcard in our room on our 2nd day when they left DD a birthday card from Mickey and Minnie.
