Hi Everyone,
I love reading this thread, I have been since it began and haven't said much but I just want to say I think you are all the best and I am learning so much about the Poly!! We will be staying in a GV room for the first time ever in July and this thread helps me cope with the waiting...:goodvibes

My question is for those of you who stay at two different resorts in one vacation, like at a value for a few nights and then switch to a deluxe. When you do that, how do you get your luggage from one resort to the other? Is it necessary to get a cab or does Disney have a service to help with this? I can't imagine bringing everything on to the buses but perhaps that is what people do?

Thanks in advance for all of your helpful advice.

And I totally agree with Tink rules... it's always best to schedule the deluxe stay AFTER the value cause no way in heck was ASmu looking good after my 4 nights at the GF :snooty:

I agree as well! As much as I love POP, my DD8 and I are usually riding WDW transporation as fast as we can to our Deluxe resort. :lmao: We always stay value first and then the Deluxe.

When I check out will bell services bring my luggage to the lobby so I can check in for the airline? Or do I need to lug it all there myself?

Bell Services will come to your longhouse with a golf cart and bring your luggage and you to the lobby to do Resort Airline Check-in. Did this twice and it was easy and painless. I think it took less than 5 minutes for the bell services guy to come knocking on my door.

Bell/Luggage services can transfer your bags for you to your new resort--no problem. With a value, I would strongly suggest making arrangements for luggage pick-up the evening (or earlier if possible) before you need it. You don't need to be present in your room for them to pick up the luggage. Be sure to take a carry-on with the essentials you'll need for the day as your luggage arrives at your new resort usually in the late-afternoon...possibly early evening. Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

I'm trying to cope with my wait until December by scrapbooking. With all the Poly pages I'm working on, everyone is so missing the Poly right now. :sad1:

Aloha and welcome!

What are your favorite things about the Polynesian?

Mahalo and Aloha!
I just love to take a nice, relaxing stroll around the grounds listening to the music and breathing in the atmosphere. I also love to walk around the Great Ceremonial House!
How about you?

OOh, I would love to see some of your Poly pages. I just finished scrapbooking an autograph book for my brother's DD4, but it would be great to get some ideas for my future Poly pages!

I am not sure if this is a Poly question or if it should be on the dining board, but since this is where the Poly experts hang out I thought I should ask here first. I am wondering if you can get a non-alcoholic drink in the pineapples? My daughter thought that was the coolest thing ever when she saw the picture of the family all drinking from the pineapple and I hope they were not all jumping up on island rum:rotfl: :rotfl: .

TIA

Yes, you can ask for a non-alcoholic "Lapu Lapu" served in the pineapple :sunny:

Thank you Seaspray,

We can't wait to be sitting on the beach drinking out of a pineapple:yay:

This may have already been asked....but I can't find it so I'm asking again.
Are the hairdryers attached to the bathroom wall, or are they the regular kind you can plug in anywhere? We have stayed at the Poly 2x's before and I can't remember, but now that the family is growing I'll need to dry my hair at the desk and leave the bathroom for more urgent matters.;)

The hair dryers are now the regular kind so that should work well for you. They used to be units installed on the walls.

It's cold and rainy here today in the northeast and I just made a warm cup of tea which I am drinking out of my Polynesian Resort mug. Ahhhhhh!
I'll be there soon! :goodvibes

Just wanted to post a comment on this terrific thread that SeaSpray started:surfweb:
I just returned from Spring Break and Easter at the Polynesian :wizard: We had a wonderful stay. I think our 4th time at the Poly. Second time in Raratonga and it was great. Garden View. It was awesome to see the monorail from our sliding glass windows. Just steps to quiet pool and Neverland Club.
The resort looked great and was less crowded feeling than AKL during similarly busy time last Spring. We had a WONDERFUL trip and several good meals (Kona b'fast and dinner and also Citrico's - YUM!)
Parks were awesome, EMH at MK made me feel like a genius :dance3: , Flower and Garden at Epcot was better than last year (IMO) and we enjoyed the new Spaceship Earth.
Again, Poly was great but Housekeeping needs improving and I am not a fussy person. I need to write a letter... New Capt. Cook's was good. Touch screens took a tad getting used to but the place was CLEAN and efficient even when packed.
Volcano Pool and beach were fabulous as always.
For anyone looking forward to a trip to Poly you are in for a treat. We can't WAIT to go back! In fact, I should've booked while there to enjoy the 30% off they were offereing but dates were too ltd. for me.

Just 5 more sleeps and we are on our way!! I am so excited and want to book the bounce back if they are still offering.

On a side not, one of my boys is sick with a flu/stomach virus. Please pray that he is feeling better before we leave and that my other sons will by some miracle not get sick.

I'm sure this has been asked before but I coudln't find it. Can you tell me what the pillows are like at the Poly? Foam? Feather? Etc. Any info is GREATLY appreciated. TIA! :flower3:

After days of staring at the screen and my dh calling me obsessed, I finally finished the 59 pages of this thread. I booked the Poly for this August and based on this thread, requested a GV room in Fiji 3rd floor. I forgot to mention Luau cove side so I'm not sure if I should call back or wait until closer to our date. Thanks everybody for all the advice and photos. I'm definitely subscribing!

I hope your son feels better soon - all that fresh Florida air will help him out! Just remember that if you bring meds, you should probably put them in your checked baggage b/c carry on is so strict with liquids now! Have fun!

i had Fiji second floor, marina view, and it was an awsome view! You could see the GCH and CR. Then if you took a short walk to the side of the marina you could watch Wishes.
