The other thing about Disney Florist is that they will work with you. If you want to make some changes or describe what you're interested in, they're very helpful. And the quality is just what you'd expect from WDW.:thumbsup2

Thanks! I love the one ConchKahuna pointed out but would love something with a richer color.:cloud9:

Aloha Everyone!!

I will be staying at the Polynesian this decemeber and I am so excited!! This would be my 3rd time staying at the Polynesian. I was just wondering, if anyone has a favorite longhouse at the Polynesian. Mine would be Tahiti!!

XxDisneyFan00xX

My favorite so far (and I've stayed in two) is a lagoon view room in Tuvalu. It is so unique in that there isn't a beach in front so it seems 'perched' on the water. 'Our first floor room was awesome as it looked like we had our own little tropical patio out there.

In December I've requested to stay in a lagoon view room in Tahiti to see what that longhouse is like. Can't wait!

Wow, that's terrible.

I've never stayed in Tahiti but know the view is lovely on either side. And it has that beach that most people don't even know about. So close to the TTC too.

It's just that I think every longhouse has advantages. Niue, Samoa and Raratonga are so close to both pools and the GCH. Tokerlau is centrally located between the TTC and GCH and has large rooms. Rapa Nui is so close to the TTC, has the smae beautiful courtyard views that Tahiti enjoys and a parking lot that is so convenient. The Western longhouses probably feel very removed yet are so close to the TTC and they also have a beach that most people never notice. Hawaii has views like Tahiti and is close to both pools as well as the benefits of concierge.

Ah, the Polynesian. I miss it!

Although, I will have to admit this: I remember one night coming back from the Arcade and the door to get into Tahiti was ripped off. I'm not sure why and what kind of human would do this.

The doors actually pop off track with very little force, it's a safety feature in case of power loss. Often people pushing a stroller or wheelchair (or on an ECV) will move through the door faster than it can open, pulling off track so it just kind of hangs there.

This is true with automatic doors in just about any store or hotel you go into.

Maybe thats what happened! I thought the Incredible Hulk might have paid a visit to the Polynesian Resort.

I once saw an older lady on an ECV that she was obviously new to driving hit one. The look on her face and the sound of her scream when the door flew open was priceless. The poor thing probably was thinking she would get kicked out or have to pay, but I just pushed it back on track. :rotfl:

Love this new(er) thread. Thanks for all your hard work Terry!

I can't wait to go back to the POLY but unfortunately it's going to be a while. At least I can stop by here more often to remember how great it really is!

Poor thing. That was nice of you to do that!! :thumbsup2

OK all you Poly experts...which is the better choice for dinner? There's DH, DS 8, DD 6.

Or do I need to do both?

Both are great, but if I had to choose one it would be Ohana, especially with the young'uns.

Definitely O'Hana's! They have lots of fun activities for the kids. If your kids do not like the offerings bought to the table, they will bring more traditional kids fare. My DS8 & DD6 thought this was the best meal of the trip!

My vote is an emphatic one for Kona. The food is much better.

But Ohana is fun for outgoing kids. So maybe both!

For dinner my vote is for 'Ohana. I took my DD8, DN9, DN13 and my godsister (14) to 'Ohana for dinner and they LOVED it! My DD8 is such a ham so she loved being able to sing with Lipoa. The older kids mainly loved the food. Plus, if you time it right, you can get to see the Wishes fireworks show at the MK right from your table! The fireworks soundtrack is piped into the restaurant.

I will be booking ADR in June how do I know what time they do the fireworks in Dec?...or is there somewhere to look that stuff up.

I'm staying at a princess suite in Tonga and was bummed to find that all the suites are in Tonga vs. Hawaii. Has anyone had experience staying here - can you still get the breakfast/ coffee there? Is it a long trek to Hawaii to use the lounge? Any info/pics would be much appreciated!

I don't have any firsthand experience with the Tonga building/experience but I do remember on a few of our trips that Chef Dick was taking a platter of food from the lounge in the Hawaii building and I overheard him saying that he was bringing it over to Tonga. This was in the early evening when the hot food offerings were being put out.

Personally I'd recommend BOTH :) We never miss having breakfast (usually a few times!) at the Kona Cafe, and at least 1 dinner there. And we always have dinner at 'Ohana. Your kids will have a lot of fun with the children's activities during dinner. :)

Disney posts the park hours (and fireworks, parades etc times) about 6 months in advance. This means that they should be up by the beginning of June :)

We do both Kona and O'hanas. I don't think I could pick which one is my favorite. They are totally different restaurants that are both wonderful and have delicious food.

I originally posted this on its own thread, but thought I would give you Poly experts a try!:goodvibes

Does anyone have any pics of the different available boats? I can not seem to find any other than the sea raycers.

Just read about the rental plans: Family and Captain plans. Can anyone share their experiences? Was there any problem with availability of boats?

Four hours of rental time for bikes/boats seems adequate to me. Any thoughts about this and the unlimited plan?

We will be staying at the Poly.
Thanks!
Pam

I forgot to mention, Kona is wonderful for breakfast the the kids! In our family it's tradition to have breakast there the morning after Christmas. The kids menu has things like the Mickey pancake ( 2 small pancakes for 'ears' and one big one for the face with Skittles for eyes), Minnie French Toast (my DD8's favorite) and a piece of toast with an egg fried in the middle of it which is Goofy's Toast. Along with the lilkoi juice, the kids were in heaven! Plus you can also see the monorail go by. :cloud9:
