Very cool picture and explanation Fred. Thank you again for help.
I didn't really think it would be a pool view since it is described as MK view or out towards entrance/Villas. I just thought it might be one of the visible roof peaks in the photo. Very excited to be a "Bear Ear" shall we call it?!?!?

That must be a long hike for Pres. and VP folks to go for concierge. But I am sure it is worth it.

You will look out of the bear's eyes every time you are standing our sitting in the concierge area. :)

See the "world" through the bear's eyes. ROFL! :teeth: Ok ok....not as funny maybe. :)

I had the great privilige of being upgraded to the VP suite on one stay. (There are pics of it in my gallery....) and I can assure you that it is WELL WORTH the walk. (Yes it is ALMOST the furthest room from the concierge area.) The view from the balcony (also in the gallery under balcony views) was amazing!! A great way to start and end the day. My DW and I never wanted to leave the room!! ::yes::

Majestic, I AM ROFLMAO!!! We "Bear"ly can wait for the fun to start. My goal is to paint the kitchen AND get a new client for my company in the meantime to use up the extra adrenaline! Glad that you got VP treatment that trip. For all of the business you send their way, there should be a Majestic Suite that is free for your use anytime...and $600/night for the rest of us WLW's
(aka WL Wackos)!
Ann:crazy:

Goodbye my friends !!

In just a few short hours we will be on our way to THE LODGE !!!

It looks like Sunday will be a total washout as far as our itinerary plans, but, we are putting on smiley faces, packing some extra games and snacks and plan to be happy just to be at Disney.Even if we are locked in our room

Apparently, MCO is closing to all commercial flights starting at 5pm, but our flight arrives well before then, so we should be fine.
I'll probably be online on and off thru the night just to make sure though.

I will see ya'll late next week :wave2:

I had been wondering about groceries at the WL store, and now that I've done some investigating I've come across Goodings online and they deliver to the hotel. (We're trying to keep the food bill down for breakfast and lunch) Does anyone have anything to say about this service? The only down side I've seen so far is the price of the groceries, but I guess its all in what you're used to. Living in the DC metro area the prices weren't really that shocking to me. Anyone have any other advice?

I know that earlier in this thread, weather updates used to be posted. Is there any chance we could get a few more of those. We'll be heading down in less than 2 weeks. And we'd like an idea as to what the current temps & such are. Thanks!

You might want to check the prices against netgrocer.com . I think they will deliver to the hotel too. I was just reading last night in the unofficial guide about the difference in the grocery stores near WDW, and goodings is by far the most expensive. I'm going to stop at a publix.

Does anyone have directions to a publix from MCO on the way to WL?

Thanks-

Sorcha

Ok, I goofed and posted this question as a new thread, but thought I would go ahead and post in the WL thread as well - just to cover my bases! We arrive at the villas next Saturday. I couldn't remember whether views, loudness levels for the villas had been discussed here. Do you have any recommendations for villas room requests or are they all about the same? Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

Also, for anyone who reads this that is in the path of Jeanne, my thoughts and prayers are with you. This madness has to stop.

Most of the views are the same beautiful view of the woods, a few have a view of the pool (Hidden Springs) I would request a villa near the elevators just click on the link below and it will show you a lay-out of all the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. It has studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedrooms and where they are located.

Villas @ Wilderness Lodge room lay-out

Have a MAGICAL TRIP. :wizard:

Try this link:
http://www.weather.com/activities/other/other/weather/tenday.html?locid=USFL0372

If you click on the "Averages" button, and then go to "Daily" averages, you can get sunrise and sunset times, too.

Actually I was hoping for those daily "reporter on the scene" type reports. Just looking for one more thing to make these last 10 days go by quicker. Reading some averages on a weather website is ok. But it doesn't compare to the first-hand accounts.

We had a WL Vet that we all loved, that live just a few miles from WDW he was our Wild Wacky Wonderful WL Weatherman his name is FloridaCat and he posted local weather reports here on the Wilderness Lodge FAQ Thread most every morning. We lost him recently after an illness so our local weather reports have not been continued. I know that many miss his wonderful post but noone else has taken over the weather reports because...Well in my case I just miss him so much...(His humor that he brought to the reports can't be replaced) FloridaCat wouldn't be happy about this so maybe we will come up with a new weather report soon.

Very well said Beckie. His shoes will be tough to fill. :(

We are getting so close to our trip and i have a few last questions. Can someone tell me if you would suggest using the shampoo and cond in the rooms or should i bring my own. I don't like the kind you can't get to lather even after a second try. :) Also i'm looking for a nice quite courtyard view room with a balcony. I hear a lot of talk about inner courtyard facing rooms. What are these? What's the draw to this room type and if anyone could throw some room numbers at me. We have only one request for bunk beds room i have paid for the view already. Thanks

I agree Fred and Beckie...he was just so unique, that the thought of replacing him, well...it makes me very sad. You are right, he would want the show to go on, but it is just too soon for me.

:(

Partyof Six - The inner courtyard faces the pool and Silver Creek..it is my favorite view..some rooms that face the inside with bunkbeds are:

4113
4145
4165 ( close to elevators)
5061 "
5117
5149
6047 "
6121

I also stayed in 2113 this past May and it was a "ground floor" room with patio right behind creek...I really loved this room because it was so close to the lobby and to the RF, pool and docks via a back door.

Besty thank you so much. Does the 2nd floor room offer bunk beds. Are any of these near vending machines? I assume they have them are there certain floors they are on.

I saw a thread the other night about fridges being added to all rooms in most resorts? Is this already being done at the WL? We are going in just over a month, and will have a woodsview room.

Congrats Sherrie & Co. on your upcoming 1st WDW trip. You will be blown away!!! I have read that WL fridges just need to be asked for if not already in the room and they are free. An actual WL traveler can confirm.

My advise is to read a book or two so you have a strategy/plan on park touring...I used to just use the guide that WDW does by Birnbaum but learned so much with the Unofficial Guide to WDW. There are several versions and all help you to maximize your time riding and lessen the line waits. Also, they sensibly help you figure out when to scrap your touring plan and just do what you want if the crowds are small. I have driven my family nuts before with a too-tight touring plan and have loosened up a bunch...but there is ntohing worse than standing around in front of an attraction reading aobut it to see if you'd like to do it and planning with the group. You will see people doing this.

Last advise...park breaks after 11:30a or if crowds get bad earlier and no buying souveneirs until last day for kids...they look but don't beg if they stick to that rule.:teeth: Have fun!
