I have a question also....and this may seem incredibly "green" of me because I just never gave it any thought. Is my room already assigned? I ask because if that is the case I would like to call today and see what room we will be getting!!! I am so excited - can ya tell???

It is right next to Artist Point. I think kids are OK in the afternoon & early evening. There were kids in there when we went to dinner around 5:30. I'd just use my judgement, and when/if the lounge started filling up with lots of adults then I probably would not take my child. Because, the adults are probably ready for some "adult" time and I wouldn't want my child around a "happy hour" type setting.

Your door card will be the "key card" variety that most hotels now use. I'm pretty sure that the only time park hoppers are added to your room key is when you have purchased a package. If you have AP's or purchase tickets seperate from your room, they will be on different cards.

humm, I believe the rooms are given their "final" assignment when you check in. When we checked in, we were given the choice of several rooms. They may "pre-assign" a room to you, but if another party requests it, they will "un assign" it to you and "re assign" another room.

I asked one of the CM's this same question on my last trip...I was told that while there are 37 rooms with King Size Beds that double as the barrier-free (handicap-accessible) rooms and have a large shower with no tub. There are some that have regular baths with tubs. But very few, as "The Wilderness Lodge is basically a family orientated resort and most of the rooms are set-up with familys in mind."

You also will have the option of a Honeymoon Suite with a beautiful whirlpool tub on the 7th floor.

Do you meen the Deluxe Jr, Suite that sleeps Six? If so no there aren't any on the 7th floor, but you maybe able to add Concierge to the rooms at an additional charge. Even if they are located on a lower Floor.

If you meen the Deluxe room that is also the Honeymoon Suite, Yes there are four on the 7th Floor.

The Presidential and Vice Presidentialare both located on the 7th Floor Concierge Level, Majestic/Fred has stayed in the Vice Presidential Suite Yosemite Suite (he Has Photo's on his Wilderness Lodge FAQ Photo Gallery!! the link is located in his signature just below the photo of his beautiful family) Of the Two I think the Yosemite has the best location and views, both overlook Bay Lake.

right now we have a regular WL concierge room booked....
the yosemite/yellowstone suites are available if i want them..

Well, the cost is pricey, I would never be able to justify the cost because I would spend the money on more DVC points...so we each have our own weaknesses when it comes to spending money. If you can afford the Suites and would enjoy the extra luxury of something inessential but conducive to pleasure and comfort go for it, they are both beautiful.

If you can get them and you can afford them, there is no way you won't enjoy them. The only problem I would say they have is they are at the end of the "tower" wings so it a walk to get to the lobby, concierge desk, and food area. The real pro is you turn a corner outside of your room and have an elevator.

The views from both are really nice but I agree with Beckie, the Yosemite (VP) has the better views and a fantastic wrap around balcony.

Take a look at the pictures on my website. You should be able to get an idea.

P.S. The 36 inch Sony TV in the living area of the Yosemite was a real winner for football nights. (I have a 60 inch Mitsubishi at home so the extra size was nice...)

such an amazing source of knowledge...

so...if i might, one more question please....

as i mentioned, i have a reservation for a standard WL concierge room...
the yosemite/yellowstone are available...
i can also get a 1 bedroom villa in the villas building (there are no 2 bedroom villas left - that would be my preference, so the kids could have their own room)...

so....given the choice between yosemite and a 1 bedroom villa in the villas building, which would you choose?

and let's do that a second time....given the choice between a standard concierge room in the lodge vs a 1 bdrm villa in the villas building, which would you choose?..

that's it...really....i promise....no more questions after these (unless i think up something else.. )

Hi,

You all are sooo amazing. All of the wonderful posts finally solidified my decision to stay at WL. Whew! One step done. We just visited WDW in March, but when we return in May 2005, we want the on-site experience.

We have a family of five -- 2dd, 1ds (Okay, he's 15, not so darling all the time) . Anyway, I am wondering what your opinions are on staying in connecting rooms vs. a 2-br villa. The price is of course an issue, but more of an issue is the view, distance from everything, etc. Any suggestions? We probably will not utilize the kitchen much. We are considering requesting North Wing B because we are smokers (yuck, I know), and so we would obviously want 6th floor in that wing. We really do not have a problem smoking outside...especially if the kids are in the same room/suite with us. Since some of the North Wing woods views have glimpses of the castle, that is obviously what we are hoping for, but how are the views in the villas?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. It took a lot of convincing to talk my SO into agreeing to return to WDW so soon after our recent visit (though really, it will be 14 months since our visit by the time we return--that's a looongg time). I think he finally realized he would NEVER hear the end of it until he agreed.
