The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

So being DVC, and having to book 11 months out, got us discussing our trip for next year. My paln was to go in Oct and use AP's we were going to buy this trip, and then to do a 3 night DCL for my 40th bday in Dec.
Because we have a middle schooler now, we are really worried about him missing a week of school. We started to talk about whether we should start alternating a Xmas trip and a Thanksgiving trip, but to be able to take advantage of using AP's twice, we need to do Xmas first and then can use the tickets again in Nov. So now I think we are going to go for xmas next year (Xmas day is Sun, so I think we'll leave that evening and drive through, get there Mon and stay through New Years to the following Tues and drive home to be back in school on Wed (the kids would miss 1-2 days at most).
I'm really excited about New Years, anyone done that?
What do you think? (This does mean I will have to wait on my cruise, maybe the following spring)

I am officially on vacation!!! :cool1: Just finished up my last day of work before we leave!!

:banana::banana::banana: 3 DAYS until DISNEY!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Wish it was me! ;) I've got to finish today and get through two more crazy days at work before I am officially on vacation. Of course, in my mind I checked out two weeks ago :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Okay folks I need everyone praying and sending me pixie dust!! :worship: The forecast for our week is starting to call for rain on our last two nights  While I am fairly certain our new tent will be okay  I would just rather not take that chance since my budget is a bit tighter this trip and switching to a hotel last minute might not be to cheap :scared1:

Uh Oh Trackey... that's what I hate about camping! My son is an Eagle Scout and my husband was an assistant scoutmaster. EVERY darned time they went camping, it seemed like it rained... probably 80% of the time. I fear there may be some scouts camping with you your week. Maybe you need to "pretend" :rolleyes1 that you're staying in a hotel and the evil camping gods will forget!:sad2:

2 WEEKS to GO!!!

Have FUN to all of you starting your vacations!!:yay:

It sounds like the rest of us will be doing LOTS of laundry:laundy:

QOTD: This is our FIRST trip to WDW...We're looking forward to...
MK: Country Bear Jamboree (no longer at Disneyland & haven't seen it in years)
EP: Spaceship Earth (sounds like my kind of ride)
DHS:Lights Motors Action (boys are excited)
AK: Expedition Everest (love those coasters:scared1:)

:cheer2::cheer2: 10 Days!! :cheer2::cheer2:

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but I just saw that Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade in AK starts on November 14th instead of Nov. 26th. I'm glad because now we'll get to see it. :cool1: I can do online checkin starting today!

QOTD - New things this trip
1. MVMCP (first holiday time vacation)
2. Staying at BLT
3. Seeing all the holiday decorations, parades etc.
4. Going to new restaurants (1900 Park Fare, Teppan Edo, Biergarten)

Checking in from POFQ. We arrived yesterday morning. It rained yesterday afternoon and early evening but we were able to get to our Le Cellier reservation. Rain possible again today and just about certain for tomorrow. Heading out to Ohana soon.

I hope the weather clears up for you! :wizard: Thanks for checking in. Have a great time! :goodvibes
You can add us, we just planned a very last minute trip! Nov 9-14 at CBR.

:welcome:

Wow, that is so wierd. Yes, I asked about the carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness (not PO) and they said they had openings from 5:30pm - 9:30pm (I think it went until 9:30pm).

My ressie is for 4 people -- 2 adults, 2 kids.

I called 407/WDW-PLAY.

I don't know, maybe cause we need the bigger one, actually we were hoping for both so my grandparents could go with us but for our family (5 people) we needed the bigger one. Maybe cause there is no price difference people book the bigger one so they have more room? :confused3 I don't know. No big deal, something to do on the next trip!

Sorry, this is a long one....got that stomach bug & feel the need to catch up now!

QOTD - Are you going to MVMCP?

Yes, on 11/11, our 10th anniversary.

Sigh, we had awful news this morning. My grandmother passed away last night, :littleangel:

I am so sorry

11-11 is our 10th also! See you at MVMCP :santa:

Posting from Ormond Beach, FL. One night on the beach before arriving at POFQ tomorrow morning. :goodvibes

In less than 11 hours, we'll be on the plane

Have a great time!

Have you taken or will you take any tours this trip?.

We are doing the Family Magic Tour. When DS is older, I want to do the train tour & a segway tour.

We had frost on the cars this morning!!

The scrapper came out of the basement yesterday morning! That wasn't just some light, run the brush part over, frost...it was scrape & scrape again!

Can someone tell me what weather site they use to look up the weather for disney?? .

intellicast.com

Hi me again... wow.. its taking all day to catch up. Been having health issues. Remember the heart palpitations I mentioned last week. Well, I saw a cardiologist yesterday and she hooked up up with a holter monitor and on Monday I am having a nuclear stress test and echo cardiogram.

Take care & slow down :goodvibes

Yipee!

QOTD: Are you doing anything new this year? And, if it is your first trip, do you have a "must do" at each park?

New - Pirate & pal cruise, Pirate League, Wishes Dessert Party, most all of the restaurants

Ok, think I caught up, probably missed a few things

My vacation starts on Friday!!!! :yay: We leave for WDW on Tuesday!!! :wizard:

Add us (bonzarella & Kelliblue) to the list. We leave the 9th to celebrate Food & Wine, the holidays & friendship. KB(aka Kelliblue) & I became friends five years ago thru the Disboards. We were going to be at Pop for free dining at the same time. I am so grateful to this site, for the many friendships but especially Kelly. We are staying at Bonnet Creek:cool1:
Those who may want to meet for drinks, let us know:banana:

Soooo, we'll be doing these things for 1st time: golfing, parasailing, horseback riding, boating, carriage riding, & LA NOUBA!!!!!!!!!!! Another first: No new trip in sight. :sad1: Planning on staying away from WDW for 5 years. :sad2:

YAY Shelly!! I can't wait to be done with work for a bit. (I will end up off for 11 days!!!!)
Jessica- If you would like me to send a little something to your girls, I would be happy to do it. I'm sure they are really bummed. If you do, just PM me your address.
It stinks that it is raining, I hope it all clears out before I get there!
Good luck getting ready to all of you leaving this weekend. ENJOY!

That would be amazing! Like Mickey Mail or something! They would love it. They are handling us canceling pretty well. They are really excited about the fact they will have their friends and family there with us in June. So, that is making up for it. :)

I will PM you our address.

In a little over 24 hours---

I'll be doing the last-minute shopping!!!! :cool1:

Oh, and flying out a few hours after that. Almost forgot. ;) :lmao:

Hooray - after an awful week, we are leaving....TONIGHT!:cool1:

We'll be rolling out of Jersey around midnight, and then driving straight through....blergh. Let's see what time DH makes me leave - I just informed him that the space shuttle launch was delayed today, making the next attempt tomorrow at 3:04pm. We'll be close....will we make it?

Everyone's trip is so close now! Have a magical time, everybody!

I LOVE prayers and pixie dust!!! :cool1::cool1: Checked the weather again this morning and the forecast is looking much better!!:banana:
