The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Have any of you every decorated your hotel room? I am thinking about doing a surprise for the girls in the room...maybe have a bag left by mickey mouse or tinkerbell for them to find when we check in..I could have my hubby in the lobby with them while I quickly go to the room..I looked at disney's in room celebration prices and they are :scared1: wow..I couldn't believe it. I was thinking of going to the disney outlet and picking up a few little things in a christmas theme and leaving the mvmcp in an envelope with an invitation from mickey himself. What do you think?...any ideas?

Trackey75..that really stinks:confused: Look into an overdraft account. I have one tied to my checking account so I never have to worry about bouncing a check..also with my debit card, if there is no money in the account, it is declined.

Thanks! Thankfully we do have overdraft protection so everything will get paid, but I tell you that $30 a pop hurts! (For my bank if you have the overdraft protection it pays out whether its a debit transaction or a check.)

It is just aggravating that it could have been avoided had they just called me ahead of time as stated. I had our saved vacation money in a seperate account to keep me from dipping into it. ;) It ticks me off all over again about my job loss last year. If I was still at my old job, my funds would not be near as tight. :sad2: Ahh well, lesson learned right?

That sounds awesome! :thumbsup2 I bet your girls would absolutely love it!!!

DD just found out that her supervisor was able to give her her birthday off!! She is very excited... she was having a meltdown yesterday so this came at a great time.... besides working 35 hours a week, she is taking 18 credit hours of college classes and studying for her GRE's.... she was just overwhelmed... we really want her to drop a class but she insists she can get it all done... sometimes I wish she would just relax and have some fun... she is finishing her BA degree in three years... she goes to school year round.. we were hoping that by doing the college program at Disney she would take a semester and just have fun!!!! Nope... she is crazy... I just finished tlaking to her and she is in a great mood... makes me feel much better... yesterday I was ready to hop on a plane... she was so upset... good thing for me she is able to get her meltdowns under control quick!!!!

I also called TSA at the Syracuse airport and no luck on bringing the pumpkin pie in my carry on... its considered a gel so they won't allow it...

It's so great that Maggie got the day off. I mean I'm sure there are tons of other people whose birthday it won't be.

I'm sorry about the pumpkin pie though.

Adorable! Where is there a Disney outlet? Up here or is it down there?

We did this for my son a few years ago. I think DH took him to look at the pool while I went in and set it up. He was 3 and was VERY excited. It was much cheaper that way. Now we always just make up a little gift bag and give it to the kids right before we leave. That way they have something new to do in the car for the ride down. I love doing little things like that. It always makes the trip that much more special. :cloud9:

I'm not getting any Mickey Mail :sad2: We added a day to our vacation, to arrive a day earlier, several weeks ago right after we paid it off, which apparently means they can't mail us our package, we have to get it at the hotel on check-in. Which isn't really a big deal, except we're bringing my sister's best friend with us who doesn't travel much, is super excited, got a new suitcase & I of course told her we were getting super cool Disney tags. But now we're not. My only option is to have them fed-exed to us at a cost to me of $15, which I'm not doing. Has this ever happend to anyone else?

On a more positive note, only 12 days left!!! Can't wait to do on-line check-in, it makes me feel like we're so close!

Not sure if regular mail would make it in time but I have an extra luggage tag and would be more than happy to mail it so she could have one. Pm me if you want me to.

I hope the kids are better very soon! :flower3:

Thank you! They are well on their way to full recovery. :yay: Now if only the DH and I can stay healthy!

We are one week away today! Isn't it crazy that you look forward to something for so long and now it's almost here! I am TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP! :)

17 DAYS!

PWDEBBIE: Glad to hear that your beagle is doing much better and I hope everything works out ok with your pet sitter. This will be the first time that we're going to board our dog, we visited the kennel and it's really nice, but I'm still going to worry! :sad2: I hate to leave the little guy.

MAGGIED: Great news about your daughter not having to work on her birthday! :thumbsup2

MINDY5767: My DD had similar symptoms a few years ago, it turns out that she has mitral valve prolapse. She just has to limit her caffeine intake and rarely has a problem. In fact, she's running in the Vegas marathon in December and every year she completes the Mud Run at Camp Pendleton. :)

The new Crocs I ordered for DD, DGD and I were delivered today (terrific sale!). Finished up shopping for the last few items this morning: 2-in-1 laundry sheets, a travel pack of Clorox wipes, another couple of disposable ponchos. And I am DONE! The clothes that we're bringing are all laundered and ironed and ready to pack but I don't want to put anything in the suitcases too early cuz I don't want things to get wrinkles. I'm going to pack the quart ziplocs of liquids for each of us tonight and get that over with. Figure out what to put in the park bag that will go in my carry on so we'll be ready to boogie on arrival day. I'm not really stressing yet...but it's on its way. I know it. But I know that the moment our flight takes off, vacation will have begun and I'll be able to relax.

DD just found out that her supervisor was able to give her her birthday off!!

I real glad to read this. Many companies have a policy of giving you your birthday off and it was really bothering me that not only does it not appear to be company policy but they were requiring her to work. Enjoy your time with her.

I so understand about leaveing your dog, I worry everytime we board ours and call to check on her everyday while we are away. Just a thought , are you driving? Is it an option maybe to take her along and board her at the new kennel in Disney? That way DH could go visit her everyday and it would ease his worries somewhat. I board at my local Best Friends and they are wonderful with the animals, I always set up a playtime for our Bella and she loves it there.

I thought about that because yes, we do drive. However, the dog doesn't drive well and the kennel is pricey. Dh keeps assuring me he will be fine with leaving her. We left her twice today and she did something she never did before -- sat at the top of the stairs (we go in and out the basement door) and looked at us with woeful eyes. And when we came home, she barked (she is not a barker). I think she knows something is up, I'm convinced she understands that suitcases mean we are leaving.

Just to add, dd made out ok with her ob appointment today. They are trying some sort of pulse thingie on her wrist that people use for seasickness. Never heard of it, but if it gets rid of her all-day-long morning sickness, then that's great.

I've been a little bummed b/c of DH calf injury, but tonight it just HIT ME.....
We're going to Disney World in 20 Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3::cheer2::yay::woohoo: Yippeeeee!!!!!
