The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Okay, just found out I didn't make it past Round 2 for the Walt Disney World Moms Panel so- I am going to focus on the excitement of our trip starting November 28th!

First time to MVMCP- loved MNSSHP and hoping to have a similiar experience with short ride time waits, lots of cheerful party goers in fun holiday hats, yummy cookies/ cocoa.

Anyone else going to MVMCP on 11-30? :goodvibes

What are you looking forward to buying on your trip that is not food?

I want to get a cute disney christmas shirt to wear to work (I am a nurse at a Childrens Hospital) I want to get my girls some christmas gifts..I saw this adorable animal print dress in Animal kingdom that I am going to buy for the two of them..and maybe some stocking stuffers. I am also going to make a list of other people that I have to buy for..make it a disney christmas:thumbsup2

Is anyone else here going to The Benefit Sale on November 6 at Downtown Disney? DH has decided to drive straight through on the 5th:headache:, so I just bought vouchers so we can shop. Well, at least we'll be so tired from the drive that we'll fall asleep early on Friday so that we can get to the sale at 5:30am:scared1:.

Shh, don't tell my hubby, but I'm eyeing the 40% off Dooney & Burke bags....

I will be there, but not likely shopping at the sale. It is tempting, though! But we have a short trip and I want my daughter to see as much in the parks as possible. Hope you find some GREAT stuff at the sale!

DD5 will want one of the "littlest pet shop" dolls and probably another outfit for her Disney Doll.

DD1 doesn't know any better so not sure what I'm getting her.

Me -- I'll pick up something from the scrapbook store and the Art of Disney Store (DH is combining my bday and christmas gift together)

DH -- He may get a Disney polo shirt.

A replacement Disney's Animal Kingdom shirt. For some reason I love the earth tones and I love the shirt, but I am not about 30lbs smaller than when I got it in August 2009 and besides that I think I have just about worn it through .. :(

I usually get a photo album to put our pictures in and a new ornament for the ree, regarldess of the time of year we go.
The ornament has sort of become a 'tradition' when we travel. I came home with one from Maui in May too. :)

I just noticed my ticker says 26 days. Which is technically 25 days since we spend the first night at a hotel near the airport! :cool1::banana::banana::cheer2::cheer2: :cool1:
Now I am totally excited! Wow, I love this board!!!!:love::love:

Got our Mickey mail two days ago! Printed up our disboard turkeys sheets! made copies of our pin book! All i have left is to buy a box of diapers and pack!! 17 days til we leave and excited to show litle Walt our happy place. :lovestruc

Just wondering what you guys wear to the MVMCP...do you get the kids festive in Christmas stuff, princess stuff or just normal...I am trying to figure out what we should do.

Wanted do ugly Christmas sweaters but can't find any yet. My husband was excited about the idea and has been looking at the mall but with no luck yet.

If its the one I am assuming it is, that is where my son's allergist is! Well on market street not at CHOP. We may actually start going to their Er instead of viruta in vorhees.

HI..yes I work at CHOP. I am in the float pool so I go everywhere..even the ED..I love it.:thumbsup2 My daughter spent a week on the pulmonary floor in June and her care was really wonderful.

Andrea- The last time we did MVMCP my boys had Mickey santa hats with their names on them. I don't think they have them this year. I'm hoping to find an xmas shirt for them.
Qotd- My sons want Duffy bears and will each get some new pins (and I'm sure i'll end up with atleast 1 new sword- I could fashion an army with the number of toy weapons in my house)
I want a MM watch and to pick a pearl (thanks for the link to the cages). Also atleast one ornament.
For those of you who tried for the moms panel, have you been able to get to the mickey moms club site? It won't let me in and I called twice and said they were having problems. Not sure if I should call again.

We wore our regular old clothes. I did end up with a Minnie Mouse ears Christmas headband

Always buy a MM head ornament with the year/celebration on it and maybe some of those little ones this time??

Wanted do ugly Christmas sweaters but can't find any yet. My husband was excited about the idea and has been looking at the mall but with no luck yet.

Look on the web. At some point, on either 60 minutes or CBS Sunday morning, I saw a segment about a company specializing in ugly Christmas sweaters for resale.

I love love love HDDR!!! I can not wait until my son is old enough to go!!

Is anyone on here by chance in real estate? We are looking at putting an offer in on a short sale and we are having a difference of opinion with each other. My agent says we need to put our best offer out (asking price with closing cost or 2,000 under asking with closing cost) I agree with her but my husband wants to offer $15,000 less and wants closing costs. The house is already listed almost $40 ,000 under market value. I don't want to low ball them and then have to play the back and forth game with the bank since it will take a long time for answers, but I also do not want to pay more than I need to!

Hi Sparkly, I used to be a realtor WAY back in the day .... when nobody even knew the word short sale. So I never had to deal with one. However, I think your Realtor knows her market. With a short sale, the banks can be very picky. If your realtor thinks that it is best that you make a realistic offer, then I would heed her advice. A short sale is a bit like buying a DVC resale with Disney's first right of refusal. In Disney's case, you might make a low ball offer, and your seller might accept it, but then Disney, who has first right of refusal, says no, they're going to buy the contract. You lose. Its similar in a short sale. You can make any kind of low-ball offer you want, but chances are the bank is not going to take it. My friend who lives near Disney encountered this. His house was a short sale. He had an offer that was actually not bad... but the bank said "nope... we think we'll foreclose anyway". The less you offer on a short sale, the higher the chances that the bank will reject the offer. They cannot recover costs, so they want to minimize losses. bottom line.... listen to your realtor...she knows your market and what's happening in your neighborhood on short sales. If you want a second opinion, call another leading Realtor in your neighborhood.

Hi guys!
Sorry, I have been MIA for almost a month! It has been insane at my house! My husband is working on a political campaign and has rarely been home due to traveling the state. It has been a LONG month and we are ready for a vacation! Can NOT wait. Less than 30 days left! Can't wait to go back and read 75 pages worth of chat. :surfweb: It will be a nice break from the real world! popcorn::
Btw, got my ME packet last week! :cool1::cool1::cool1: Made me realize how close the trip is. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming.................. We will make it through next Tuesday, I know we will. :scared1: LOL
Anyhow, I just wanted to say HI! :wave2:

:wave2: Welcome back..... hope you can read through all the posts... this thread is chatty!

I'm looking online and can't really find any cute disney christmas t's...maybe I will have to make them:thumbsup2

What are you looking forward to buying on your trip that is not food?

I splurge on pajamas for myself! And we always get mugs for family members and ourselves. Those are the traditional gift items, plus t-shirts. I'm getting sooo excited for this trip! Having a whole week off is gonna be SWEET, too!

We might pick up a Disney Christmas ornament, but I can't remember if they sell them in the parks or if we would have to go to DTD. We're not planning any DTD time this trip, so maybe not.

I want to get a Duffy for my son as well.

Ultimately, I need to wait to see how much space I have in my bag to bring stuff back. We're doing carry ons only, so I will be limited.

Has he tried a thrift store? You could probably find something REALLY ugly secondhand.

Also, can I add requests through online check in? If not, I probably should call and add some over the phone. I'm thinking ground floor room would be good. I suppose I could also request a specific building, but I'm sure DH would appreciate the lack of stairs the most.
