I have a
QOTD if that is ok:
What is your favorite place (park or resort) to see christmas decorations and why? We are looking for some christmas spirit this year as we will miss going to
MVMCP.
My favorite is the Gingerbread House at GF and I can't wait to see the Chocolate Carousel at the Beach Club... the Osbourne Lights are nice, but they just remind me of a big electric bill!
Well looks like I will have to be taken off of the November countdown

(we had a boardwalk view 2-bedroom to arrive on 11/28 for 5 nights). It was my youngest 2 sons' first trip and we were all so excited to be going.
Life (finances) got in the way and now we may have to either cancel or reschedule to March 2011 (which isn't that bad - just was so looking forward to Christmas decorations). I won't know for sure for another week or so - wish me luck everyone!
Oh.. No.... I hope it all turns out for the best. If you do end up missing Nov. you can console yourself on the Flower & Garden Show. Its one of my personal favorites. The weather is usually perfect and the special garden areas are so beautiful we just find our favorites and hang out.
Here are a few more photos of Duffy ... along with Maggie and her roommate Hannah
Duffy likes France
Duffy likes driving
I just showed these to DD8 and she's so excited. She has the book about Mickey and his teddy bear Duffy. She has to have the one that was in France and Driving... so you say $25?! Now its on the must-haves
Well, DH has done it again. Initially, we were leaving NJ on 11/5, driving to the last exit in GA, then driving to the Best Western Lake Buena Vista on 11/6, before checking in to AKL on 11/7. DH just informed me "What's another 3 hours drive time....we're going all the way to the Best Western on 11/5!"
If there is an upside to this, it's that now I may be able to take advantage of the Benefit Sale at Downtown Disney on the 6th. Does each person need a voucher, or is one enough for me and DH?
WE drive from Northern VA to Kingsland at the most. Sometimes we stop in Richmond or Richland (?) Hills... its a suburb of Savannah.
I lost the quote... but someone whether saving 40% on a deluxe is better than free dining and staying at a value. yes it is. Of course, it depends on how much your family eats, but its NOT really free. You have to pay rack rate for your room and tickets. So where's the savings? Its not there because it costs Disney much more to discount the room than it does to give you the food. Remember the actual cost of the food is much much less than the price they charge you. When the meal plan first came out it included appetizer, entree, dessert, drink and tip. Now it doesn't include tip or appetizer. So, for one thing the convenience factor is out the window. You have to pay separately for alcohol, appetizer and tip. Also, with a Value resort you'll only get quick service. If you're like me, you'd rather eat a good breakfast, and snack around instead of lunch and then do dinner. I've done a comparison. Once time when we were NOT on the meal plan, we added up ALL of our receipts for food and meals and then compared that to the cost of dining plan and it was a wash. You'd save alot more with the room discount of 40%.
And.... I'm in Northern VA. I have not yet caved and turned on my heat. I know we will soon. I've been tempted, but then I decided to wear warmer PJs and forget the cami top. Today is breezy but delightful. My son is going to college in Florida and he is an hour from Disney. He regularly gives me updates on weather. He said its really been nice.. and this from a boy who wore sandals (Keens) in the snow on a mountain in Alaska.
Oh... and the question about footwear. I have the LLBean Explorer Sandals. They look alot like the Keens my son and husband wear. They're comfortable enough to wear all day, they're Kali River Rapids proof, and go with just about any kind of outfit. If you're from Florida, your feet will be cold. Everyone else will love them.
