The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

I wanted a Duffy bear when they were only available in Japan. My DD is facinated with Japan and I told her someday when she went she had to get me one, now I don't have to wait! Now, the last thing we need is another stuffed anything in this house, but his face is a Hidden Mickey, how can you resist? My DH has plans Saturday, Sweetest Day. I told him he had a padd as long as he remembers that next month and gets me a Duffy.

Compared to up north, I have no doubt my lil Florida will provide you with some warmth.

It is funny you mention this though, because hubby and I were just talking the other day about how all the Northerners come down here in Nov and Dec and consider it so warm. Whereas most of us Floridians think anything below 60 is down right chilly! We are always so amazed when we are walking around the parks with jackets and long pants on and see others, that we just assume are from up North, wearing shorts and tank tops!

Now with all that in mind, come summer every year I am wishing we lived up north, because it is so miserably hot and humid here. :thumbsup2

We always stop in Daytona before we go to Disney, though cause we have to get there earlier this year for FD we will after, but anyway, we will be in the water, the kids playing in the sand and people will walk by in sweats and they always, I am not kidding, always say, "where are you from up North?"
When we say Rochester, NY they just smile and nod. We are always a dead giveaway. No passing us off as locals.

Add me to the list please. We will be staying Nov 6th-15th with a split stay. Nov 6th at Pop and then we'll move over to OKW. Only a little over 3 weeks :yay:

3 WEEKS FROM THIS EXACT MOMENT OUR PLANE WILL BE TAKING OFF!!!

I think my 4 year old needs a Duffy bear. He looks adorable!

Just ordered these the other day for our upcoming trip from Dicks Sporting Goods. Free shipping on orders over $79.00

GAH! We're leaving in 3 weeks and my house is a wreck!:scared1: I wouldn't care, but my mother-in-law is moving in for the week to take care of my son...:rolleyes1

Time to get cleaning, I guess!:laundy:

My parents live in a senior, excuse me active adult, community and the big joke is you can tell where everyone is from when it gets "cold" based on what they are wearing!

The clothes are a definite give away. I just love see transplants from up north, because all of us who have lived in the south our whole lives could be freezing our butts off, but then you see a northerner and they are looking at us like "are you crazy, this is warm weather!" :rotfl:

Okay fellow Nov. travellers I need some help! I am on the hunt for a comfortable yet stylish pair of shoes!!! I thought of starting a new thread but I KNOW the wisest of the wise are here anyway and could maybe offer some advice. I don't do well with Crocs and I'm thinking my Rainbow flip-flops will be out (wishful thinking that it will be too chilly). Any suggestions??? :confused3

I don't think my ticker is right. We're not leaving until the 19th so shouldn't it be 1 month 4 days? :confused3

My Mom bought me some shoes at Belk that are really comfortable. They're the same style of shoe as a Ked's tennis shoe but they aren't canvas like a tennis shoe. They upper is more of a suede-type material...very soft! They're called Grasshoppers. When she called and told me they were on sale at Belk and what they were called I thought for sure they'd be a Grandma shoe (well...I am 49 and I am a Grandma but still...) but they're really nice looking. I wanted black but they didn't have black in my size so she got me a pair of navy. They also have a tan color, which my Mom bought for herself, that I liked too.

I see that you're in NC too so you should be able to find a Belk department store. Don't look at the ones they have online because they are NOT the same!

Today my daughter was able to go to the unveiling of Mickey's Teddy Bear Duffy.... it was in Epcot and she said it was so much fun... Mickey and Duffy arrive on a sail boat. Then Mickey introduced Duffy... it seems that Duffy is a gift from Minnie to Mickey to keep him company while Mickey travels around.... he is a real cutie....

My MIL loves bears and boy would she ever love that big ole thing!! If I end up doing some early Christmas shopping and buying her a Duffy, the problem will be me giving it up :thumbsup2 Maybe I better just buy 2 :rotfl2:

In case anyone here has reservations for the 3-D Dessert Party in Epcot, I ran across a review with pics and thought I would post the Link. Made me wish I had booked it after seeing all the wonderful desserts but being diabetic and not able to drink either, I had to pass.

What a wonderful day. It's Friday :cool1: I got a new 8lb 11oz nephew last night:cloud9: My Mountaineers got a win
and 27 more days til Disney :mickeybar

Speaking of the Floridians feeling the cold, I can recall one year seeing all these people wearing their winter coats during the show at MGM and we were loving the weather, we wanted to eat out on the patio at Traders and they told us it ws too cold the patio was closed ,we thought these Florida peeps are crazy :lmao:

Yeah, us true born southerners don't know what to do when those temps start dropping. But it is funny you want to move down here for the warmth because I want to move up north for the cool. (I have always figured it is easier to put on more layers to get warm then it is to take off enough layers to get cool.:upsidedow) Guess it just proves once again the old saying "the grass is always greener on the other side" is true! :thumbsup2

Can that bear be any cuter?

Oh boy, might need to add a little more to our Disney giftcards. I…I mean my children will certainly enjoy Duffy. He will go great with the 2010 plush Mickey and 2010 plush Minnie I..I mean they want as well. :rolleyes1

My mom collects bears (a sorority thing) so we might be coming home with 4 of those.
